So, thanks to President Biden’s Infrastructure Bill, remote locations on the Navajo Nation Reservation will be receiving electricity for the first time — ever.
Also, water treatment devices are being developed to help the tribe access clean running water. After decades without.

Hey yall, the only source I can find of this is that tweet. Does anyone else see another source? If not, maybe stop engaging. With no other sources it is very likely fake news

"BREAKING: The UN Security Council has passed a resolution calling for an immediate ceasefire in Gaza for the month of Ramadan. The resolution passed 14-0, with the US abstaining for the first time."
from BreakThrough News, 25/Mar/2024: caption cont under video
In response, Netanyahu immediately said he was cancelling his trip to the US.
The resolution, put forward by Algeria, Ecuador, Guyana, Japan, Malta, Mozambique, Sierra Leone, Slovenia, South Korea and Switzerland, calls for an unconditional release of all hostages on all sides.
Russia attempted to put the word “permanent” into the ceasefire language but the US voted against it.

I am not unaware of the negatives of Biden's presidency, and I am not trying to elide or forgive them. I'm reblogging posts about the Biden administration because I think it's really important that potential voters in the US realize that there is, in fact, a very big difference between the two parties, and voting for Biden is not just damage control--it actually does good. It's okay, you can actually feel a little excited about making meaningful progress, and not just hold your nose.
He's been very unflashy. He's not a great leader, he's not charismatic and he knows it, but he's an adroit politician and administrator, and he's been getting things done. Letting Trump win at this point would be tantamount to throwing the entire country on the bonfire. It's not a choice between bad and bad, it's a choice between meaningful, if imperfect, progress and fucking doom.

So in the US, most items do. In Oz, usually, but you can also check the nutritional label and do some quick math with serving size. My parents always taught me to compare the price per unit, not the price, of two brands before selecting.
I do this with nutrition too. When I buy proteins I check the grams of protein versus price instead of the servings per price, since my nutritional goal is to consume more protein at reduced cost. If my iron is low, I check high iron foods per density per cost - spinach is high in iron per price but not per density, unless I want to eat a lot of it. So sometimes I go for a higher iron / price point but also higher iron density.
Anyway, most foods have that information available. Check the Oz of your favorite snacks against old packaging and you can see it go down
Here, compare:

The 2024 version has 1oz, this 2010? Version has 1.5 Oz. We lost half an ounce in 15 years
companies are delusional if they think consumers don't notice shrinkflation. less food in the package, less medicine in the jar, less whatever in the wherever, it doesn't matter where and it's almost always noticeable. like i just finished one box of medicine and we opened another allegedly identical one that we just bought and lo and behold, the four middle medicine segments were gone from the package. they took our four pills from the same sized box and sold it at the same price without any indication on the box other than the small number in the corner. ridiculous

They recently discovered an Inner Inner Core!!!! In one the iron is magnetized east-west and in the other north-south. No this doesn't make sense but also yes it does. To geologists, who can see all the shrimp colors
learning the earth's inner core is solid--that messed me up. but learning it is also squishy? that fixed me

Listen, I'm not a saying these primaries are gonna be a great opportunity for change. I just said that it's not true that they aren't being held. But as for candidates, might I suggest Google? The response will be Wikipedia:
"On December 6, 2023, TYT Network hosted a forum featuring primary candidates Williamson, Phillips and Uygur. Biden was invited but declined to attend. ... On January 8, 2024, Williamson and Phillips participated in a debate hosted by New England College in Manchester, New Hampshire.[103] To qualify, candidates needed to be registered on the New Hampshire primary ballot and poll at more than five percent.[104] ... On January 12, 2024, NewsNation hosted a second forum featuring Williamson, Phillips and Uygur. Biden was invited but did not attend. The discussion was moderated by Dan Abrams.[107]"
Wikipedia easily provides three other potential candidates. You can read into them yourself and decide which one you want.
"Allegedly" lol it's pretty public information. I provided my source. Provide me yours that disproves the primaries are being held and that these people don't exist

While it is true that Biden will most probably be the democratic candidate, it is not true that democrats aren't holding primaries. South Carolina is the first official one, I believe, though New Hampshire held an unofficial one earlier. Biden was not on this ballet. New Hampshire democrats wrote him in with enough fervor that he managed to win anyway
Here is a calender for primaries

IDF service is mandatory for israeli citizens. it is compulsory. you will be conscripted when you turn 18. there are exceptions and not everyone has to serve but these exceptions do not apply to the "average" person. if you are a child in israel you grow up with the expectation of serving in the IDF. this is presented as correct and necessary to you. most people do not see a problem because they are taught not to. i will also assume that most young israelis do not know what the IDF actually does until they join. not everyone who joins the IDF will have active service or be put behind a gun, but they will do some work for the IDF.
this is obviously fucked up. i think it also maintains the stasis that israeli society finds itself in. the leadership demands that the current system keep going, and if you're israeli the current system 100% has involved or still involves members of your family or perhaps even you. it creates a collective complicity. if you condemn the IDF and its actions it means you're condemning your own family. you can react to this with disgust and push away from it and therefore face social consequences or you can double down and justify and deny.
i do not take any of this lightly. the only reason why i do not have to serve in the IDF is because i was born abroad and live abroad. there is one piece of paper that stands between me having to choose between the IDF and Israeli military prison.
so no, the 18 year old teenagers who choose to go to prison rather than serving the IDF are not doing the "bare minimum." they are more personally impacted by everything going on there than most of you keyboard warriors will ever be and they are doing more and facing more consequences for it than you.
when they refuse to serve they are not only, on an individual level, refusing to take part in the IDF but they are challenging the entire system of conscription, the whole military complex of the IDF. perhaps others will see what they're doing and join them. perhaps they will demand a new norm. perhaps this will lead to changes that are helpful to everyone.
because despite the odds these teenagers are able to recognize what the IDF is doing and why it is wrong and then shoulder the very real personal consequences of LITERALLY GOING TO PRISON for refusing to take part in it.

honestly we as a culture need to approach things with less "boohoo this female celebrity has suffered a misfortune, she can go cry about it in her mansion" and more "if someone can get away with doing this to her, then none of us are safe"
