the dance, the night
Tumblr media
➳  Princess Minjung wouldn’t have thought that she would enjoy her night.
characters ➵ Jung Minjung, Jackson Wang
warnings ➵ fluff
Tumblr media
“You look beautiful, Princess!”
“The most elegant princess out of all the princesses!”
Princess Minjung turned towards the 2 royal maids with a straight face - causing them to lower their heads in embarrassment.
“I don’t think this fits me. I don’t know… I have never gone to galas or masquerades..” Princess Minjung muttered and the 2 young royal maids went to her sides.
“And that is why Queen Jung assigned us—
“Your 2 royal maids that has been serving you since young—
“To be the one to choose your gowns! We took care of other royal kingdom’s princesses' gowns, so trust us!”
Princess Minjung’s young twin royal maids, Hyeri and Hyerin exclaimed as they were given a task which is to choose different gowns for the princess and they were happy to help the princess regarding the choosing of gowns.
“I trust the two of you but.. I’m not confident wearing the gowns.. Can I just wear the usual royal suits?” Princess Minjung turned towards the twins as their eyes widened in unison then shaking their heads in disagreement.
“No, your highness! This was an order given by the Queen! We would be punished if you wear the usual royal suits!” Hyeri, the older twin, expressed herself with a terrified expression - making the princess turn her sight towards the mirror, observing her own reflection.
Princess Minjung was in a purple gown, most of the fabric on the outer layer are veils but the inner layers are silk so it was quite comfortable for the princess. There were sparkly designs  on her waist area causing the attention to be on her small waist.
The princess hoped that the ball room wasn't going to be cold as her shoulders and arms were exposed as well as her chest area even though there were veils covering them.
With a sigh, Princess Minjung gave the approval signal for the twins to continue helping her do her face and hair. Hyerin, the younger twin was clever enough to put on a light layer of makeup on the princess while the older twin decided to just slightly curl her hair.
It was all about minimalism regarding her makeup and hair.
“Thank you, you two.” muttered the princess as her gaze went towards the window to see cars lining up - knowing it was the royal families from different kingdoms. There were families she recognized as Princess Minjung were the ones who attended meetings together with King Jung.
“Everything is going to be fine, Princess. Prince Jackson is going to be there,” Hyerin commented as the princess’s head snapped towards her with a slight frown.
The twins giggled towards each other, watching the princess walk back and forth in nervousness.
“Face it, Princess. You like him and he likes you,” Hyeri added and Princess Minjung slightly tilted her head as she looked at the young maid.
“I don’t think he likes me in terms of having romantic feelings for me. We are just friends - best friends,” answered the Princess as she leaned against the nearby book-shelf.
“But best friends don’t kiss each other on the cheek whenever you part ways,” asserted Hyerin while raising her eyebrows.
“Yeah, especially a Prince. Princes don’t kiss a princess on the cheek - usually they would kiss the Princess’s hand on the back.” Hyeri added and the princess groaned in annoyance hearing her childhood friends teasing her.
“Prince Jackson is an exception.” Princess Minjung muttered as she smiled a little, remembering the times when they were together.
Ever since Princess Minjung saved King Wang from the evil general from the finance department, King and Queen Wang would always call the Princess of Jung Kingdom over for tea sessions - wanting to know more about the Princess.
It was normal for Prince Jackson to join the session - yet Princess Minjung was actually thankful that the young prince joined. The Princess felt awkward since there were 2 adults and she was the only young one.
With the addition of the Prince, the princess was able to communicate well plus Prince Jackson is like a friend to her and the way he talked to his parents was informal - the princess was amazed that King and Queen Wang didn’t bother to correct him.
Since then, Princess Minjung would teach Prince Jackson more about archery and swordsmanship - training to become an expert and because of the regular practice, both of them naturally became close with Prince Jackson asking the princess if he could be comfortable with her and without knowing his context, Princess Minjung just agreed.
Until one day Princess Minjung figured out what he meant if he could be comfortable is whenever they are alone Prince Jackson would lean on the princess’s shoulder whenever they read a book together or just talk about their royal duties.
What made Princess Minjung’s heart race was the times Prince Jackson gave a kiss on her cheek whenever she would leave to go back to her own Kingdom.
He would always accompany her to the front entrance - even when he had to attend a meeting but he decided to prioritize the princess first, vice versa - even when Prince Jackson drops by the Jung Kingdom for the royal meeting of both kingdoms and Prince Jackson would always give Princess Minjung a kiss on the cheek before leaving to go back to his own Kingdom.
The topic is still being discussed by the royal maids and butlers regarding the Prince and Princess’s relationship.
They thought it was cute and romantic but they didn’t know if it was appropriate if the King and Queen of both Kingdoms knew about it.
“C’mon, Princess. I think all of the royal families have arrived.” Hyeri suddenly looked towards the window as she began to rush her younger twin.
Princess Minjung sighs as she hoped the night would end early for her.
Tumblr media
Princess Minjung slightly bowed her head towards the other royal families and she thanked the royal twins that her dress wasn’t as heavy as she thought it would be. She could move around freely but not as freely as wearing her usual formal suit.
She couldn’t help but have her eyes downcast, feeling the obvious stares from other Princes and Princesses. Princess Minjung knows that they were surprised that she showed up - compared to the previous gala events where she decided to just ghost out.
Princess Minjung went towards the corner with a glass of wine - just observing everyone when her attention caught towards other princesses who were giggling and just whispering towards a certain direction.
Princess Minjung decided to follow their gaze and she was foolish enough to take a sip while looking - the princesses were looking towards the main entrance, to see the King and Queen of Wang Kingdom, with Prince Jackson at the back just looking around.
When Prince Jackson caught the one that he was looking for, Princess Minjung nearly choked on her wine as she quickly gulped onto her drink quickly - seeing him walking in a fast pace towards her direction.
She has to admit that Prince Jackson looks stunning and hot.
Prince Jackson really looks… like a prince..
Damn, Minjung. He is a prince!
“Minjung! What are you doing here in a corner!?!” Prince Jackson was already beside the dazed princess - causing her to blink furiously at him.
“Are you drunk? How many glasses of wine did you drink!?!” Prince Jackson exclaimed dramatically as he put his hand on the princess’s forehead.
Princess Minjung dodge his touch as she nervously looks around - seeing other royal families glancing towards them with cheeky smiles.
“Just.. a glass. Galas and me don’t match well,” muttered Princess Minjung as her eyes turned towards the prince who gave her a side look.
“Really? I guess…. we’re the same…” Prince Jackson muttered as he smiled slightly, seeing the Princess’s taken aback expression.
“You don’t like galas too?”
“Not all galas. Just the one that involves contracts, meetings and just forced ones. You get what I mean,”
“This gala involves all of that too, Jackson.” Princess Minjung asserted as she looked at him, amused.
Prince Jackson smiled slightly before continuing his words.
“I know. I actually wanted to skip this one but as soon as I heard you were attending, I couldn’t help but to come and see you,” Prince Jackson muttered - only making the princess hear his words.
The Princess didn’t know if it was the glass of wine that made her blush or just her own emotions when Prince Jackson had his eyes on hers.
There was something with his gaze that made her stomach filled with butterflies.
Prince Jackson too had butterflies on his stomach when he saw Princess Minjung on the corner wearing a purple veil gown and a glass of wine.
He knew she would be there and he knew that everyone’s attention would be to her - hearing that the Princess of Jung Kingdom would not come for galas or masquerades due to her attending wars and battles and staying over at another kingdom’s cabin hence the timing was a bit off.
But Prince Jackson didn’t know how gorgeous the Princess of Jung Kingdom looked in a purple gown. He was so mesmerized with her that the King had to shake the young prince off, noticing his son was staring into space.
Prince Jackson’s eyes went towards the Princess’s lips then noticing his own actions as he quickly looked away, as he covered it up with him taking a step back, standing up straight while extending his hands towards her.
There was no way Prince Jackson would miss a chance to dance with Princess Minjung.
“We could pass the time by dancing. Would you like to have a dance with me, Princess Minjung?” Prince Jackson questioned confidently and his lips immediately curved upwards as soon as the princess took his hands.
Tumblr media
“You’re good at dancing, Minjung.”
“Doesn’t mean I didn’t attend galas, it does not mean I have no idea how to dance, Jackson,” Princess Minjung muttered in a matter of fact - causing the Prince to chuckle, guessing himself that he might pissed the princess off.
Both of them were in the center of the ballroom and Princess Minjung was surprised on how Prince Jackson would make her feel comfortable - seeing one of his hands on her back and other hands clasping onto her hands.
Their faces were just inches away from each other.
“Do you often dance with other princesses?” Princess Minjung questioned softly, seeing a small smile from Prince Jackson as he proceeded on twirling the Princess, then slightly pulling her towards him - his hands moving towards her hips.
“Not often. Maybe once or twice and I would instantly leave.” answered Prince Jackson as his expression changed to a smirk.
“Do you know the lift move?” asked the Prince with a hint of tease - Princess Minjung can’t help but raise an eyebrow while pulling the Prince towards her.
That made Prince Jackson’s heart jump slightly, seeing how close their faces were.
“Try me,” whispered Princess Minjung and Prince Jackson smirked deepens - with him beginning to spin her around then doing the advanced move which is him lifting the Princess up, that caused other royal families attention to the both of them.
Prince Jackson and Princess Minjung were in their little world - with the Princess chuckling when she accidentally stepped onto the prince’s shoes and him stepping onto the hem of the Princess’s dress.
They were having lots of fun - which is a first for both of them.
“It seems that we have caught other people’s attention,” Prince Jackson whispered as he brushed his lips on Princess Minjung’s ears.
Her gaze then went towards her surroundings as they were being greeted by other princes and princesses compliments regarding their performance - more royal families were on the dance floor, and that was the queue for Princess Minjung to leave.
“Jackson, I’m thirsty. Can we drop by the liquids section?” Princess Minjung turned her sight towards him as the Prince quickly nodded - surprisingly knows the code as both of them bowed towards each other, ending the dance and Prince Jackson guided the Princess towards the liquid sections.
“No more wines for you. A glass of water should be okay. You’ll get sick as soon as tomorrow comes.” Prince Jackson grabbed a glass of water, then handing it to the Princess - as she muttered her thanks to him before gulping the water.
“That was fun,” Princess Minjung commented as she turned towards the Prince who was sipping a glass of wine while staring into the other royal couples dancing on the dance floor.
“Really? I had fun too.” muttered Prince Jackson as he turned towards the princess, who had her head turning towards what he was looking at.
The Prince blames the wine that he feels warm on his cheeks - his gaze was more intense as he stares at the Princess.
I would lose myself if I kept drinking this wine.
“Princess, should we have a dance one more time?” Prince Jackson questioned out of nowhere, making the Princess snap her head towards him with a slight frown.
“What—
“Okay! Let’s go!”
Tumblr media
It was obvious that Prince Jackson is really drunk by the way he was lifting the princess up and the way he twirls her around - with his slightly reddened cheeks and ears.
The only way for Princess Minjung to stop the Prince was stepping onto his shoes - The prince needs some fresh air and a plain glass of water.
Princess Minjung hurriedly went towards the liquid corner then returned to find Prince Jackson with a glass of water - to see him being nowhere.
The Princess looked around the area - from the ground floor to the 2nd floor and to each room when she had no choice but to ask the butlers and thank god one of them knows where he went.
Princess Minjung had to leave the ballroom - her feet taking her to the royal garden where there were benches and seat cushions on the floor by the pond, it was meant for the Queen and the royal duchesses to sit on when there were tea sessions.
Her eyes traveled towards a familiar back of a dark blue suit worn by a Prince that she had a dance with previously.
The Princess silently made her way towards him, as she took a seat beside.
“It’s beautiful as soon as night time arrives here,” Prince Jackson muttered as his gaze went onto the pond - with lights on the sides of each corner of the pond.
“Jackson, you need to chug down a glass of plain water. Or else you will be down with a fever,” It was the Princess turn to mention him being sick, the table had turned previously.
Prince Jackson let out a smile before grabbing the glass from her hand.
“Thank you, Princess.” thanked Prince Jackson as the Princess bowed her head slightly - then turning her head towards the pond.
“I didn’t say this before but, you look beautiful.” said Prince Jackson after he finished drinking, his gaze turned towards the princess who just smiled.
“Thank you, Jackson. You know, I was looking forward for this gala to end but it seems with your presence here and with how we enjoyed ourselves back at the dance floor, I wished we could have more time together,” confessed Princess Minjung, her gaze went downcast as she let out a slight smile - a sad one.
Princess Minjung turned towards Prince Jackson as she caught him staring at her - with his head turning towards her.
“I always enjoy my time with you, Princess. Never once it would be boring. It seems that I am attracted to you,” Prince Jackson admitted as his body shifted nearer towards her.
Princess Minjung watches him leaning towards her - his face inches away from her. His head tilted slightly while his sight went towards her lips then towards her eyes, asking her if he could kiss her while giving a knowing look.
The Princess approved of his action by leaning towards her.
“Prince Jackson! Your highness!”
Both the Prince and the Princess automatically leaned back and immediately stood up.
Prince Jackson had a deep frown, as if he looked really pissed while turning toward who was calling him.
“King and Queen Wang mention that it’s getting late and they want you back immediately,”
“Okay. Give me 5 minutes.”
“But—
“5 minutes! Please.” Prince Jackson yelled, looking towards the butler with a pleading look. The butler could only bow as he quickly left the Prince alone with the Princess.
“The King and Queen is right. It’s getting late.” Princess Minjung mentioned with a small smile, making Prince Jackson to instantly smile.
“I hope this is not weird but did I mention that you have a beautiful smile?” Prince Jackson complimented - earning a slight laughter from the Princess.
“I think all princesses have a beautiful smile, your highness.”
“Yes, but yours is different. Whenever you smile, there is a twinkle in your eyes and I like it,” Prince Jackson confessed and Princess Minjung immediately chuckled as her eyes went downcast.
“Thank you for today, Jackson. Being my dance partner and my wine partner. I really enjoy my night.” Princess Minjung thanked the Prince as she slightly bowed towards him.
The Prince could only stare at her, admiring her gestures.
He wanted to converse more with her, there were so many things he wanted to discuss with her but it seems time decided to pass by fast.
“Your highness—
“I’m coming!” Prince Jackson immediately yelled towards the voice calling for him - an annoyed tone came out from his voice.
“Thank you, Princess. I’m afraid I have to go,” Prince Jackson muttered with a slightly frown.
Princess Minjung nodded as she stared at him, afraid of what she was going to do next.
It was time for her to initiate the gesture - Princess Minjung leaned towards his face, planting a deep kiss on his cheeks, a smack could be heard only for the both of them.
A smile was being formed on Prince Jackson’s face as he decided to embrace the Princess with a tight hug - feeling his breath and him planting a soft peck on her bare back.
Prince Jackson then grabbed her hand as he kissed her knuckles - before bowing to her, as a queue that he will be leaving.
He was about to walk away when he decided to turn back, giving the Princess a last look - before really leaving her.
Princess Minjung could only watch him until she couldn’t see his figure - releasing a shaky sigh.
“If only I was brave enough to just confess to him,” muttered Princess Minjung to herself as she felt tears clouding on her eyes.
It’s weird for her.
She knows that she would be seeing him again but why does it feel like they were separating?
“Your highness! Princess! What are you doing there!?” A familiar voice called for her as the Princess turned to see the familiar twins running towards her on the grass.
“What are you doing out here all alone?!” The older twin nagged as she looked around the area - finding there was no one while the younger twin put a cloak on the princess, observing the Princess.
Seeing that there were tears on the Princess’s eyes, Hyerin looked towards the older twin - giving her a look.
“Let’s go, Princess.” Hyerin softly muttered as she hooked her arms onto the Princess’s arms.
Princess Minjung can’t help but look back towards where she sat with the Prince as her feet entered the usual noisy palace.

her body, his worries
Tumblr media
➳  Prince Jinyoung didn’t lose hope on wanting to see the Lieutenant back on her feet.
characters ➵ Ahn Yuna, Park Jinyoung
warnings ➵ a little angst, mention of blood
Tumblr media
Prince Jinyoung lay down his pen, his sight changed to the opened window - feeling the breeze on his hand.
His eyes then fell towards a picture frame and whenever he looked at it, he could feel his ears turned warm and red - knowing he himself feels shy.
It was a picture of the Lieutenant - smiling slightly, wearing her usual uniform and her badges shining on both sides of her chest.
Prince Jinyoung finds the Lieutenant looking cute whenever she wears a beret - maybe he is the only one finding her looking all adorable when others find her looking scary as the Lieutenant was heard to be a woman who rarely smiles.
The prince secretly had her picture ever since the Lieutenant has been offered a royal photoshoot - it was a ‘thank you’ gesture for her after saving the King’s life.
But what the Lieutenant didn’t know is that the prince was there - secretly spying on her the whole photoshoot and the whole time, she was feeling very shy as there were a lot of cameras facing her.
Prince Jinyoung has always kept an eye on her - hiding behind the walls when he sees the Lieutenant having a walk with the Colonel and the King and Queen, discussing the usual royal duties.
Sometimes, Prince Jinyoung would be caught by the Lieutenant and she would always brush him off by smiling slightly, continuing her walks with the royal family.
The Prince finds the Lieutenant admirable and cool - though he didn’t often have conversations with her because they had complicated schedules with the prince having royal meetings and the Lieutenant having emergency calls from neighboring kingdoms.
Recently, Prince Jinyoung had his mind occupied with the Lieutenant knowing where she went.
It was absurd for him as the Lieutenant went off to finish a war and knowing he can’t stop the King, Prince Jinyoung could only give in - praying that the Lieutenant would come back safe.
As Prince Jinyoung was about to pick-up his pen, his sight changed outside the window - to see soldiers from his own kingdom marching towards the entrance.
His eyes search for someone he desire to see when his eyes slowly widen - a frightening sight he could have ever imagine.
He was quick to move, getting up from his chair in an instance - pulling the door roughly as he ran towards the hallway. He was the only one running through the hallway, earning a few shrieks from royal servants, wondering why the prince was in a rush.
The prince ran downstairs, jumping 2 steps down and as soon as he pushed the huge doors of the main palace entrance, he ran down the little steps - approaching the general soldiers as one of them were carrying a body on his arms.
As he got to see the body clearer, Prince Jinyoung’s eyes went teary.
“Yuna!” The Prince shouted, making everyone on the ground look at the prince.
“No, no, no, no..” Prince Jinyoung repeated as he gestured towards the head of the general for the young prince to carry Yuna’s bloodied body.
Yuna’s armor was filled with deep scratches - there were blood stains on her head and her chest. Her face was too filled with little scratches, her side-bangs covering her eyes.
Prince Jinyoung’s eyes were brimming with tears, a silent sob being heard from him.
With a shaky sigh, Prince Jinyoung moves his head nearer towards her face - a way to know if she is still alive or dead. Once his ears were near on the Lieutenant’s nose, his eyes went wide.
“She’s alive,”
Tumblr media
Yuna’s eyes slowly flickered open and the first thing she felt a  throbbing pain on her head, causing her to groan loudly.
“Lieutenant!” One of the royal maids called as she helped Yuna to sit up when the younger one was struggling.
Yuna squinted as she observed her where-abouts, seeing the Park’s Kingdom logo - sighing in relief. Her biggest nightmare was being captured by soldiers from another kingdom soldiers.
“Everyone is going to be happy as soon as news spreads that you have awakened, Lieutenant.” the royal maid commented as Yuna frowns slightly.
“How long was I on the bed?”
“A month, Lieutenant.”
“What?” Yuna muttered as she re-positioned herself, her feet touching the floor - her head was feeling much more heavier.
“A month? I missed a month..” Yuna muttered and the royal maid looked at her with a warm smile.
“You have to thank the prince, Lieutenant. When everyone started to lose hope, he was the only one who still stays - gripping onto every little hope he has, knowing that you will wake up.” the royal maid helped Yuna to stand up - going by her side as the Lieutenant rested her arm on the maid’s side.
“Stay? What? What happened?” Yuna repeated, clearly she was confused as she tried moving.
“Prince Jinyoung would always visit you - helping to wipe your face as an everyday routine. There were days where we would catch him silently crying while reading a book to you. The prince was really sad and just down. Everyone could see it,” the maid explained with a sad tone as she looked back to the previous weeks.
Everyone in the royal household could see Prince Jinyoung’s changed attitude, he was more focused and more strict to the soldiers ever since the Lieutenant is attached to the bed.
Days went by and one day, Prince Jinyoung stumbled across the King and Queen as the prince was about to visit Yuna  - hiding himself as soon as he heard the loud sobs echoing the hallway.
He then realized why his own mother was sobbing after hearing the words coming out of the prince’s father.
“My love, the Lieutenant died with bravery and courage. We can’t be like this. I don’t think Yuna would want to see you like this,”
“She was like a daughter to me. How are we supposed to tell our son?”
Prince Jinyoung was in denial.
While everyone thinks that the Lieutenant is slowly dying, the prince would always pray every night as soon as he finished writing his diary - praying that the Lieutenant would wake up.
The prince would help the royal maids take care of the Lieutenant - with the permission of the Colonel.
It was heartbreaking for the Colonel since his daughter was slowly losing her own life and he couldn’t do anything to help other than praying, doing the same thing as what the prince did.
The Colonel didn’t lose hope - he knew Yuna, his daughter, the Lieutenant would wake up, just like other days when she would get injured from going on battles and wars.
But it was just a little longer for her this time.
“How is Prince Jinyoung?” Yuna questioned weakly, then trying to drink some water - with the help of the royal maid. Yuna couldn’t realise that this was the weakest she had felt.
With numerous bandages on her head and all around her body she saw on the mirror, Yuna knew that this was the nearest she met with death.
“Devastated, but all of that would change after knowing that you are awake,” the maid commented and Yuna sighed softly.
Forcing the maid, Yuna asked her to be by her side in case she fell to the ground due to her being weak. She wanted to make herself back to her usual routine by trying to take a stroll by the hallway.
Yuna weakly twisted the door handle, pushing the door as she could smell the usual scent of the royal palace.
“Where to, Lieutenant?” The maid questioned as she turned her head to both sides slowly.
“Just to the ends and back here.” answered Yuna as she started to take a few steps slowly. Yuna groaned slightly as she felt pain on her chest but she still made a few more steps.
This is what she always does whenever she woke up from wars and battles - back when she was staying in the soldier’s cabin.
Yuna didn’t know that she was about to meet someone when the prince was about to turn the corner with his usual book.
As soon as Yuna looked up, she stood frozen with one of her arms on the maid’s shoulder as she saw Prince Jinyoung somehow flipping onto the pages with his feet moving forward towards her.
Yuna gulped as she wanted to turn away when it was too late. The prince looked up and he immediately stopped at his track, his book falling onto the ground as his feet started to run towards where Yuna and the maid is.
“Y-Yuna.. What.. W-why are you out here?!” The Prince muttered as his expression formed into a frown as his gaze fell towards the maid - she was in-charge of the Lieutenant yet she brought Yuna out when she was weak.
“It’s not the royal maid’s fault, your highness. I was the one who forced her to be by my side. I have to get back to my old tracks,” Yuna explained weakly as the prince could only frown while slightly pushing the maid away - wanting to be the one to support the Lieutenant’s side.
“Let’s get you back to your bed, Yuna. It’s an order,” The Prince commanded and Yuna could only sigh in defeat.
Tumblr media
Prince Jinyoung let out a spoon of soup infront of her as she quietly opened her mouth slightly, letting the prince spoon feed her.
The prince smiled at her, seeing her eating.
As soon as the prince lay Yuna back on the bed, Prince Jinyoung ran all the way to the throne room - informing everyone that the Lieutenant had woken up.
All of the royal household had to see the Lieutenant.
The King thanking the Lieutenant many times, The Queen giving a tight hug to Yuna and a rough kiss on both of her cheeks, the Colonel patting his own daughter’s head with tears on his eyes, the soldiers celebrating with chanting the Lieutenant’s name.
Prince Jinyoung on the other hand decided to show his actions by helping Yuna with her daily needs - which is eating, dressing her up with again, the Colonel’s permission and reading her books.
It’s been more than a week and Yuna was too weak to tell that she didn't need his help.
She knew the prince would in the end still continue to help her.
“I will be telling the Colonel that you would not need to attend battles or wars,” The Prince announced as he puts the bowl of soup on the bed-side. Yuna frowned slightly to hear his statement.
“Why not?” Yuna questioned quietly, watching Prince Jinyoung’s expression turning serious.
“Because.. You have done enough. Our Kingdom is at peace,”
“Peace doesn’t last-long, Jinyoung. What if a war breaks again? Someone has to go, I have to go,”
“No. You don’t have to. The Colonel and his men would go.” answered the prince firmly as he took the bowl of soup.
“I nearly lost you. I won’t lose you, again.” Prince Jinyoung continued and Yuna watched him before continuing.
“Why? Why do you care now?” Yuna questioned, her tone became softer as her gaze went elsewhere.
Prince Jinyoung slowly looked towards her - seeing her expression turned sorrow.
Because I love you, Yuna.
But I can’t seem to say it out loud.
I don’t know why.
“I have gone to battles and wars. This was the result every time and I would continue my everyday life as per normal. But you…” Yuna trailed off as she felt her eyes brimming with tears - when she met eye contact with the prince sitting in front of her.
“You’re making it difficult for me,” Yuna choked and Prince Jinyoung slowly put the bowl to the side, his hands traveling across her head - caressing and trailing his fingers onto the Lieutenant’s side-bangs.
There were so many things that she meant when she said that he is making it difficult for her.
Yuna has some sort of feelings for Prince Jinyoung but she is trying her best to lay it low - not wanting to grow more feelings for him.
It was impossible for her to be with him.
There was no way that Prince Jinyoung would like a woman like her.
She was positive that the Prince didn’t look at her as a woman - she was just an employee and a friend, a Lieutenant who is a commoner to him.
Yuna watches the Prince’s movements - noticing his expression that was filled with care and adoration.
She was confused with the prince’s behaviour.
She was even more confused when all of a sudden, the Prince embraced her with a hug - feeling Prince Jinyoung’s heartbeat as his hands on her back.
Yuna must be dreaming - Prince Jinyoung is hugging her, she is in his arms.
If the Colonel or the royal maids sees this, she would instantly get a lecture. After-all, Yuna is considered a commoner.
Prince Jinyoung lets go of her - his eyes were onto Yuna while standing up, his hands reaching for the bowl of soup.
“You should rest. I’ll come by again, tomorrow.” Prince Jinyoung said simply then walking towards the door - giving Yuna one last glance before closing the door of her bedroom.
Yuna looked towards the door - with a feeling of confusion.
What the hell was that?

the invitation, his time
Tumblr media
➳  Prince Mark has started to race against time as soon as the princess is being offered a hand in marriage with another princes.
characters ➵ Lee Aera, Mark Tuan
warnings ➵ none.
Tumblr media
“Thank you, Princess Aera.” The old woman hurriedly bowed towards her but she was quick to stop her.
“It’s okay.. Please take care of your body. I’ll inform the general’s about your shop’s problem and assistance would be sent to you financially.
For the meantime, please take care of your health.” advised the princess, grabbing her usual travel medical bag with her.
The princess gave a small smile towards the old woman before exiting the small house.
“This is the last house, your highness.” The princess’s butler said as he looked up from the map.
“Alright, let’s go back to the palace then,” the princess sighed in relief as she took out her usual stethoscope that has been hanging around her neck for the whole day.
The princess who is also a royal doctor to the royal household of Tuan has been going around the kingdom, treating different people as sick citizens has been increasing causing a ruckus.
The princess herself voluntarily wanted to do this job, with the help of some of the generals helping to carry supplies to give to the citizens - and the help of her own kingdom, supplying the medicines since Aera’s kingdom is a kingdom that is filled with different kinds of medicines.
The princess was really happy to lend a helping hand but there is one particular person who isn’t too happy - it’s not that he didn’t want the princess to help, but he was just worried about the princess’s well-being.
Aera is still a princess after-all.
That would be Prince Mark as he remembered arguing with the generals, even with his own parents.
Everyone was so surprised when the prince started his reasoning.
No one has ever heard Prince Mark talk during meetings - usually he would only listen and do as he told.
He is a noble gentleman, which is why everyone loves him although he doesn’t say much which made the princess wonder more about what is inside the prince’s head.
“Your highness!” A familiar voice yelled as the princess and the butler were about to step foot into the royal palace, making the princess turn towards the voice to see a messenger from her own kingdom.
“Ji!” the princess waved beamly as she ran towards him with a hug - earning a slight shriek from the young man.
The royal household from her own kingdom described the youngest princess to be a stuck-up, rude and unappreciative kind of princess which made them dislike her.
Ever since living and working in the Tuan Kingdom, there has been a major change of the princess.
She was completely the opposite when she stayed in her own kingdom.
Being the royal doctor, she is someone who has lots of compassion and empathy. Most of all, the way she communicates with people has changed as she follows the rules of being one of the royalties.
But she still didn’t like how the royal household goes - with all that arranged marriage and wearing ridiculous big dresses.
The princess lets go of the messenger after hearing an awkward cough from the butler - causing her to look at the butler sheepishly. She then let the butler go, afraid that the messenger would be uncomfortable since it’s between the princess and her on kingdom’s news.
“It’s rare for you to come at this time, Ji. Did something happen?” the princess questioned as she watched the young man taking out a very familiar looking envelope.
“Not again,” groaned the princess as she lightly stomped her foot. She has been getting lots of invitations of marriage from different princes and Aera would instantly decline their offer - with the help of her family to reject with giving different sort of believable reasons.
Aera was actually trying to find ways to stop getting herself from being the centre of attention - which is the arranged marriage.
She thought moving to the Tuan kingdom would make them forget about her presence but instead it was the opposite.
“No, your highness. Not this time,” Ji muttered as he couldn’t meet the princess’s eyes as everyone in her kingdom knew what has been the talk of the town.
Aera frowns to see Ji’s expression as she slowly takes the card from him - her eyes still onto Ji as her fingers begin to open the envelope, taking out a small written card.
Dear Princess Aera,
This is your mother writing to you personally. We have spoken many times regarding your marriage as you are the last princess. The 2nd last masquerade will be held in 5 days. Aera, you have to find someone before princes’ makes a waiting line to be with you. We know you hate arranged marriages so are giving you a chance to find one. So far, Prince Jaeho is waiting for your acceptance regarding the marriage. Your father and I are trying our best to make an excuse on your behalf. We will see you on the day of the event.
Your sincerely,
The Queen of Lee Kingdom
“Prince Jaeho? I don’t even know him,” muttered Aera as she frowns, trying to remember  every prince she has met.
She has met every single prince from different kingdoms back when she attended regular tea sessions with her mother and sister.
Most of the time, Aera would distract herself with the cupcakes while trying to make her older sister giggle and chuckle - trying to get the older one to be in trouble since her older sister is the first born and she would most likely to be the next ruler of the kingdom.
“I don’t think he fits to be with you, your highness,” Ji commented as his head hung low - afraid to say his reasoning.
“Not that I wanted to be with him but why not?” questioned Aera as she raised an eyebrow, her eyes then moved towards the card - analyzing every sentences, not knowing there was a certain royalty that made Ji to lower his gaze.
“Ji, why—
“That’s because he is known to be a player. How do I say this in a nice way? He throws away girls like toys,” A voice made Aera to widen her eyes, slightly looking to the side to see Prince Mark standing beside her with both of his hands placing his back.
Aera frowned slightly as she turned towards Ji.
“Is that true, Ji?”
“It is true, your highness. What Prince Mark had said is just half of it. There is more about Prince Jaeho but it would be inappropriate for you to hear more,” Ji answered and Aera completely knows what the young man was talking about.
She isn’t considered innocent as what people think about the youngest.
“If that’s the case, tell mother and father if they allow his hand of marriage to me, I will and surely, and I won’t hesitate to run away from my own kingdom. I mean it this time.” muttered Aera as her eyes widened slightly, still reading the card.
“Marriage? What marriage?” Prince Mark repeated as his eyes turned towards the red card.
Before his mind works, his fingers were fast enough to snatch away the card on the princess’s hands.
His eyes move quickly - not caring the messenger of the Lee Kingdom and the princess’s nervous looks as they see the prince’s expression turned sour and just pure mad.
Aera could see his ears turned red.
Prince Mark slowly looked towards Aera with a cold expression, quietly handing the card towards her.
The princess silently took the card and as soon as it was on her hands, Prince Mark turned his heel back - walking away from the 2.
Even from the back, they could tell the prince wasn’t too happy.
He isn’t too happy - Prince Mark was really really mad, pissed and just annoyed.
To sum it up, he was in rage.
Maybe because he was too shy to even reveal his own true thoughts to the princess.
There were lots of times when he wanted to approach the princess but he didn’t have the courage and the prince didn’t have the time since he was busy with his royal duties.
He knew he was running out of time.
Prince Mark has started to race against time, and in this moment, he would surely do something to prevent the princess from going to the wrong heart of an evil prince before it’s too late.
That’s when Prince Mark knew that he had fallen for Princess Aera deeply.

his feelings, his loyal friends
Tumblr media
➳  Prince Jaebeom thought that things would be easier after confessing his love for his bodyguard.
characters ➵ Yoo Hyesung, Lim Jaebeom
warnings ➵ none.
Tumblr media
Hyesung sighed as she carried books that were covering her sight - making her hard to walk forward while being cautious.
Ever since Hyesung and her father, General Yoo has been raised with a higher rank of title, she had to learn all of the rules and regulations of the royal household - since her name has been put in the official royal household employees.
And ever since Prince Jaebeom confessed his love to her - with a kiss, he decided to tell the King and Queen about the prince’s love towards his bodyguard.
The King and Queen wasn’t surprised at all - in fact, they only told the prince to live happily with her, to treat her like her woman.
The Queen was actually happy that his son had found someone.
They didn’t mind if he is dating a commoner. The Queen was previously a commoner before marrying the King so she doesn’t mind at all.
The Queen has even had a personal conversation with Hyesung, regarding the royal family and about her son too, Prince Jaebeom.
The Queen told Hyesung more about Prince Jaebeom but of course, since Hyesung is always with the prince, she would already catch some flaws about the prince.
Though Hyesung is considered an official employee in the royal household, she is still with Prince Jaebeom - accompanying him for his usual walks in the town, going to meetings and recently, he is interested in cooking after watching Hyesung cooking for the prince.
Couldn’t see where she was walking at, Hyesung missed a footstep as she walked down the stairs - feeling herself landing towards the floor but instead, she was being pulled in the arm roughly - causing her to land onto someone’s arms.
“I’m so sorr— Jaebeom!” Hyesung shrieked as she looked up to see the Prince slightly smirking down at her - still having her on his arms on the floor.
Both of them were too into staring at each other's loving eyes, not knowing a few presence until one of them faked a cough.
Hyesung turned towards the voice of the Queen smiling at them cheekily and the other generals standing behind her, staring at Hyesung with bewildered eyes.
She then realized which position she is, causing her to push herself away from the prince - grabbing the books on the floor as she stood up, bowing towards the Queen.
“You don’t have to do that, Hyesung. And why are the two of you hugging each other on the dirty floor? There is a reason why a bed has been made, you know.” The Queen teased, a few gasps could be heard from the other generals.
Hyesung was lucky that her father wasn’t with the Queen. She would be dead meat.
“Sorry, mother. Hyesung nearly injured herself,” The prince stated, as he looked at his bodyguard with a raised eyebrow. The Queen could only shake her head - then wiping the dust on Hyesung’s clothes.
“Anyway, it’s a good thing that I met the two of you. There will be a meeting for the royal household in the throne room. Everyone must be there - you too, Jaebeom.” The Queen pointed a finger towards the prince as the younger one nodded.
“I’ll see the two of you later.” The Queen slightly glared towards the prince, knowing her own son would sometimes escape the meetings.
She turned towards Hyesung, giving a warm smile.
Hyesung bowed towards the Queen as she left.
“You heard what mother said, let’s cuddle in my room,” teased the prince as Hyesung nudged onto his arm.
“Jaebeom!”
Tumblr media
Everyone leaves the throne room, rushing towards different directions. The royal maids play an important role this time as they are in-charge of decorating the ball room.
“A masquerade?” muttered Hyesung as her gaze was downcast. The generals from different departments had to stay behind to discuss more for the masquerade, throwing in royal families to invite.
“General Yoo would be in charge as per usual. I have a new task for Hyesung.” The King mentioned Hyesung’s name - earning her attention as she looked towards him.
“Hyesung would be in-charge of guiding Prince Jaebeom’s 6 royal friends.” The King instructed and Hyesung turned towards the prince who was standing at the side with a frown on his face.
“Father, I don’t think—
“You’ll need her assistance, young one. You do know things will get out of hand if you are the only one who had to take care of them,” The King cuts the prince off as he could only bow his head, his chin popping out slightly indicating he wasn’t too happy with the idea.
“Prince Jaebeom would introduce you to his 6 royal friends. Are you clear with the instructions, Hyesung?” The King questioned and Hyesung nodded with a smile.
“Yes, your majesty.” Hyesung answered, the King smirking slightly towards the prince - knowing very well of his son.
The King knows his son tends to get jealous easily - he has seen the prince’s face after catching some of the other princes’ flirting with his bodyguard.
The royal household of the Lim’s is aware of the prince’s relationship with his bodyguard but outside of the household aren’t aware of their relationship. The King and Queen wanted them to wait until the prince proposed to Hyesung.
“Everyone is dismissed, except for the prince,” The King announced as everyone leaves the throne room - including Hyesung.
As soon as the golden door of the throne room was being closed, everyone could hear the bicker of the prince and the King.
Tumblr media
Hyesung turned towards the prince, seeing him being so quiet while holding onto her hands as usual.
This is what they would always do when they have free time - taking a walk in the royal gardens.
Prince Jaebeom was too into his own thoughts not knowing they stopped at the entrance of the garden.
“Jaebeom? We reached the front entrance,” Hyesung voiced out, causing the prince to look over her with a small smile.
Everytime the prince looked at her, Hyesung could feel her heart beat twice as per normal.
He is too beautiful and elegant, with him wearing the crown and his usual outfit that made people instantly recognize that he is from the royal family.
Sometimes Hyesung would get insecure as she stood beside him with her wearing her usual leather jacket, and her normal buttoned up shirt and black pants along with black business shoes.
“You know, I’m not too satisfied with father’s decision of you guiding the 6 of them,” confessed the prince as he sighed.
“Why? Who are the 6 princes?” Hyesung questioned as she wasn’t aware of the 6.
“Right. The 6 princes are my childhood friends and….” the prince trailed off as he too stopped at his own tracks, causing Hyesung to stop too.
“Jaebeom?” Hyesung called and the prince stood in front of her closely.
“Look, I just don’t want them to steal you away from me.” mumbled the prince as his hands traveled along her long strand of hair near her ears.
“Steal? Why would they steal me away from you?” questioned Hyesung as she turned her head slightly.
It was the first time seeing the prince looking so bothered.
“Because… you’re too beautiful.” answered the prince, his sight moving towards her eyes. Hyesung could only blink at him as it was replaced with a smile.
“Jaebeom, they won’t steal me away from you. Besides, I’m only loyal to you after all,” said Hyesung with a smile while planting a quick peck on his cheeks, causing the prince to look at her with adoration.
“Your majesty! It’s time for your outfit alteration!” One of the royal maids called but the prince’s eyes were still onto Hyesung.
His hands traveled towards the sides of Hyeung’s frames, tilting her head slightly as the prince’s face leaned towards her - his soft lips placed onto her lips. The prince wasn’t afraid to show his love for his bodyguard in front of the royal household people.
Hyesung could only lean forward - not wanting to do more since the royal maid was there.
After placing a kiss on her lips, he proceeded on planting a soft peck on her forehead then engulfing her with a hug.
“I’ll see you later, Hyesung.” Prince Jaebeom muttered as his lips brushed onto her ears, causing her to turn slightly red.
Their times would always be cut off with either the generals calling Hyesung back to work or Prince Jaebeom having to attend last minute royal duties.
The royal maid could only giggle to see Hyesung’s reaction as the prince walked away from his bodyguard, leaving the flustered Hyesung as she turned towards where the prince was heading.
He is a prince after all, causing Hyesung to smile sadly knowing they couldn’t have more time for themselves.

⤷ A dream of a dream, where she is the daughter of a King and Queen of a big village. It was strange for Aera as she was surrounded with wolves, she was basically raised with a pack of baby wolves and generally wolves.
⤷ Young Aera would always be surrounded particularly with 7 wolves and from that dream, she became close to the 7 of them and she had her own adventures individually with the 7 of them.
⤷ Her favorite moments with all of them would be going hunting with her bow-arrow and sometimes a sword where she could literally feel how heavy it was although everything was a dream. ⤷ After that devastating day and till now, Yugyeom would always come and take a peaceful time for himself to his marked territory - where he and his dead childhood friend would always talk and laugh about the smallest thing.

A Few Years Ago
“Princess! Where are you going!?!”
“I’m going to find the prince! Get everyone out of here! Now!”
“We don’t have time, princess! Your mother and father instruc—
“I’ll meet with them soon! For now, get the Queen and King of Kim Kingdom out of here! Get everyone out!”
The princess yelled towards the head of the guards as she mounted her personal horse, whipping it harshly indicating she is really in a rush.
All of the royal guards were rushing their way, escorting the royal people out of the palace.
It was midnight and out of a sudden, everyone was being awakened by a loud bell from a nearby bell tower - specifically indicating that there were intruders in the kingdom trying to assassinate the royals.
This time, it’s a dangerous situation as the kingdom was being raided by an enemy.
The princess, Princess Hwang Soojin, was staying in the Kingdom of Kim’s, where her best friend, Prince Yugyeom is living - this is his kingdom after all.
Princess Soojin’s kingdom is just a neighborhood kingdom, next to Prince Yugyeom’s kingdom so she would always stay over in his kingdom - Princess Soojin is treated as a family to the family of Kim’s.
The princess’s horse galloped it’s way into the palace where there were already a few invaders.
“There’s the princess! Get her!” One of the voices yelled, causing the princess to hurriedly search for the prince.
There was no sign of the prince, she was about to turn her way back when she remembered a place - a hidden place of where only the prince and princess knew.
A place where both of them would do everything together, eating, taking a nap, escaping royal classes.
It is also a place where the young prince has stolen the princess’s first kiss.
“Prince Yugyeom!”
The princess managed to pass through all the bushes - a secret maze garden where only she and the prince knew.
The prince snapped towards her while holding out his sword, as he looked at her with a deep frown.
“What are you doing here?” The prince stood up, instantly putting away his sword.
“I’m coming to get you, of—
“Why!? You need to get out of here, Soojin!”
“And leave the young prince alone!? Under my dead body!”
Prince Yugyeom wanted to argue with her but he suddenly heard a few rattling sounds coming nearer towards them.
“C’mon,” muttered the princess as she handed out her hand towards him, pulling him up onto her horse.
The prince sat behind her, feeling his arms wrapping around her waist area.
“Hold on tight, your highness.” said the princess as she whipped her horse, instantly galloping towards the other way.
Once they got out of the maze garden, the sight that the prince saw was a nightmare.
The palace was being destroyed, seeing dead bodies of his royal guards on the floor.
The princess could feel the prince’s arms tighten on her waist.
It was a disaster, even when they went through the town’s path.
All of the houses were destroyed but it was safe to say that everyone was being evacuated.
Needing more men from the princess’s town, the princess was given a horn - a specific horn that if anyone blew it, help would come.
The princess suddenly pulled the reins, causing the horse to stop abruptly.
The prince was confused.
He was even more confused after seeing the princess dismounted from the horse.
He soon realized what she was doing.
“Princess.. No..” Prince Yugyeom mumbled, feeling his eyes getting watery. He was about to get off when the princess lay a hand on his arm - stopping him from getting out of the horse.
With no choice, the princess roughly made the prince move towards the front - handing the reins to his hands.
The princess looked around, before laying her eyes on the prince.
“You do know that I love you, right?” asked the princess, trying not to let out a shaky voice.
The prince’s eyes shakes, not knowing what to answer.
He loves her, really loves her but he didn’t know why he couldn’t say it to her.
“Are you leaving me behind? Sacrificing yourself for my own town?” the prince scoffed, looking at the princess in disbelief.
“It’s the only way, my prince. You’re the next in line for the throne. The horse will get you safe to my kingdom. Now, go.” instructed the princess. Fearing that the enemy’s men would come, the princess give a one last look towards the prince.
Without waiting for the prince’s reply, the princess roughly hit the back of the horse - making it gallop its way forward.
Prince Yugyeom turned behind, seeing the princess standing still in the middle of the path, watching the prince and the horse going away.
“I’ll find you, Soojin!” Prince Yugyeom yelled, seeing a nod from the princess before she went in the opposite direction, also seeing her holding onto her sword - going towards the palace.
Prince Yugyeom felt tears rolling on his cheeks, knowing he lost his first love.
He regretted not telling her about his own feelings for her - most importantly, he would never forgive himself for not stopping her.
Tumblr media
The Present Time
“Prince Yugyeom? It’s time for the ceremony.”
The prince shakes his head, looking out of the window of the palace - seeing different people, knowing it was from the other royal kingdom, coming out of different fancy cars.
It was the Kingdom of Kim’s independence day. Prince Yugyeom always finds the day a tragic day for him, as it was the day when he lost his only bestfriend, his old childhood friend, also a lover to him.
“I’m skipping the ceremony,” Prince Yugyeom muttered as he faced the butler with puffy eyes. The butler could only look at him sadly bowing his head before exiting the prince’s room.
Every independence day, the prince would stick himself in his room - not wanting to get out to see anyone else.
The only time he would come out is when he would feel really hungry and he would sneak his way into the palace kitchen - joining the royal maids and butlers eating in the kitchen.
Prince Yugyeom is loved by the royal maids and butlers - especially the older ones. He is very polite with the older people, although he is quite a troublemaker.
He would often skip his royal classes when it gets boring but he would often get away with it by the help of the older maids.
He doesn’t look down on people who have a lower title - still greeting them respectfully.
Only to the older ones.
The ones who are the same age as him, Prince Yugyeom tend to shut himself off. Not wanting to make new friends, especially the opposite women.
But he knew the Queen and King would force him to make new friends with the neighboring countries. Thanks to them, Prince Yugyeom is now friends with 6 other Princes of the neighbouring countries.
They are considered Prince Yugyeom’s closest friends. He often joins them on a journey to defeat bandits all over different kingdoms.
“My dear? Yugyeom?”
A feminine voice called for the young prince as he shifted his body towards the voice, to see the Queen closing the door softly.
“Mother,” muttered the prince with a sigh.
“Not wanting to join the celebration, my dear?” the Queen questioned softly, sitting beside the prince on his bed.
“Not this time, mother. I’m sorry,” Prince Yugyeom apologized, looking away from the Queen as she pats his head.
“Me too, your father and I don't like celebrations,” voiced the Queen, making the prince turn towards her with a questioning look.
“I thought you always enjoy celebrations,”
“Not this kind, my son. I feel.. rather sad.. It doesn’t feel right. It’s like, someone is missing,” the Queen trailed off, seeing her son holding onto her own hands.
“Me too. I miss Soojin,” muttered the prince, feeling himself getting emotional. Even the Queen feels emotional too.
She was referring to the princess, her best friend, the King and Queen of Hwang Kingdom’s daughter.
After the raid a few years ago, the princess’s parents, the King and Queen of Hwang Kingdom had told the King and Queen of the Kim Kingdom that they would sincerely offer their kingdom to them.
Afterall, the Kim’s Kingdom has been destroyed.
So the King and Queen of the Kim Kingdom accepted their offer but what made the Queen feel heavy hearted was her best friends would be living far, far away from their old kingdom.
The King and Queen of Hwang Kingdom are always fighting wars - helping their royal friends to fight for good deeds. She was told that they would send their 2 daughters, Princess Hwang Jinae the first born, and the youngest born, Princess Hwang Soojin off to other parts of the kingdom for safety purposes.
Since then, the Queen has never heard any news from the King and Queen of Hwang Kingdom - fearing if they died since she didn’t know where their kingdom is located.
She was told that the Hwang Kingdom is living under the dark - not wanting to know where they live.
“You know, I believed they are still alive,” mumbled the Queen, earning a sigh from Prince Yugyeom.
“Mother, the guards have been searching for them for years now. I don’t know— I don’t think they are… alive,” trailed off the prince, gulping the lump on his throat as his gaze went towards a big family picture hanging on the wall opposite him - a picture of his family and the princess’s family.

➳  It seems that fate called the princess back to Bambam’s kingdom as the queen has fallen ill and the young prince has been thinking of his lover.
characters ➳ Yong Eunjung, Bambam
warnings ➳ a little angst.
Tumblr media
“Jungie, why do you have to leave?”
“To protect your kingdom, Bamie,”
“But do you really have to leave? You promised that you will study with me! I thought you are my personal friend! You broke your promise! Hmmp!”
“It’s my job, Bamie. It’s my duty to protect you as well as your kingdom, our kingdom. I’ll be back sooner before you know it,”
“Yeah, right you’ll be back. It’s been 5 years, Eunjung.” Prince Bambam muttered to himself as he glanced towards the photo of him and his childhood friend, his first love, who is also his personal royal guard.
He has been waiting for her, for years. He still didn’t lose that hope.
Too deep into his own thoughts, a loud knock made him return to reality. Bambam turned towards the door, to see a worried looking royal head maid.
“Your highness! It’s your mother! Her condition has worsened!”
Tumblr media
“Eunjung, princess?”
The girl stopped her movement, looking at the door to see the King peeking his head into her room.
“Yes, father?”
“You’re really going to Bambam’s kingdom?”
“I have to. I need to, father. Prince Bambam’s mother is sick. I have the antidote to help cure her sickness,” said Eunjung as she was packing her clothes into her suitcase. She has already prepared another suitcase that is filled with equipment.
Eunjung is a royal doctor, she is actually a retired royal guard who is now a certified and known doctor among other kingdoms. She even teaches people about general and health medicine.
Since she has an older brother who is going to be next in line for the throne, Eunjung had discussed her title with both her father and her late mother and thankfully, they gave her full blessings on her journey to become a royal doctor.
Her father, King Yong smiled proudly as he approached her.
“Here, take this.” King Yong handed her a very familiar necklace, making Eunjung squint at the carved necklace.
“Isn’t this the necklace that was given by someone?” muttered Eunjung and King Yong sighed.
“It was specifically given by Prince Bambam. I don’t know if you remembered but before you left, he gave you the necklace as a promise that he is your royal guard,” explained King Yong with a soft smile.
“That’s cheesy,” mumbled Eunjung as she took the necklace from him, causing King Yong to chuckle as he watched her daughter wear the necklace.
“But why did you keep the necklace to yourself? Why is it in your hands anyway?” questioned Eunjung as she continued packing her stuff.
“You were the one who specifically gave it to me, Eunjung.” answered King Yong in surprise and Eunjung stopped her movements, somehow remembering.
“Dad. Here.”
“What is this? This is from Prince Bambam. You should wear it! It’s rude to not wear a gift that was gifted by the pr—
“Dad, I’m going for a war. If I can’t make it, you hold it and give it back to him,”
“I guess you forget about it and the prince too, since you were in a coma for more than a month,” King Yong mumbled, causing Eunjung to sighed loudly.
“That was the worst pain I have ever felt,” muttered Eunjung as she closed her suitcase with a thud.
“I should get going, father.”
“Do you need a ride?”
“I’m all good, father. I have ride with me - which is Tom, my all time favorite horse,” Eunjung smirked her way towards the King, following her daughter's footsteps as they walked together out the room then towards the entrance of the royal palace.
Her horse was already being set up by the royal butlers, Eunjung turned towards her father.
“I don’t know when I’ll be back but I will write you mails, okay father?” assured Eunjung as she gave a tight hug on her father.
“I know, princess. I know. I’m proud of you,” muttered the King as he watched Eunjung hop onto her horse.
“I’ll send an emergency mail to the Queen,” exclaimed King Yong as he was acknowledged by a nod from Eunjung before she whips her horse slightly - watching the horse galloping its way with the princess.
With a proud smile, King Yong prayed that his daughter’s journey and adventure would go smoothly.
Tumblr media
The sound of a horse neighing plus its galloping made the people of Bambam’s Kingdom look over to see an unfamiliar girl whipping her horse in the middle of the road, going towards the palace.
The sight of the palace made Eunjung in awe, seeing how fancy and elegant the palace is.
Eunjung couldn’t remember much about Bambam’s kingdom. Ever since she had a coma from the dangerous war a few years ago, Eunjung has lost bits and pieces of her memories of Bambam’s kingdom.
Her focus was so into the palace that she didn’t know there were guards trying to stop Eunjung from entering the palace - making her horse to neigh out loud.
Eunjung frowns as she sees lots of guards guarding outside the palace. It was as if they were ready to attack anyone who came near them.
“I’m here to see the Queen!” yelled Eunjung as she was trying to calm Tom down.
“The Queen is unwell to see anyone! Go back to your place!” One of the guards yelled to her, causing Eunnjung to frown deeply as she slightly glared towards the guards.
Eunjung pulled Tom to the side as they went in a different direction.
She spent her whole afternoon trying to find ways to get into the palace. Too tired to find more ways, Eunjung decided to roam around the small town - then to find a very familiar shed.
“What's this?” Eunjung muttered as they approached the old, shabby shed. She inspected the area and it seems that no one owns the shed.
Eunjung dismounted from Tom, approaching the shed as she opens the door of the shed - being greeted by flying dust causing her to cough out loud. With a sword on her hands and a torch on her other hand, Eunjung looked towards Tom before entering the shabby shed.
When all of a sudden, she was being greeted by a strange pain on her head, causing her to shriek slightly.
“Hey Eunjung. When we grow up, let’s own a shed so that we can put Tom and Jerry together!”
“You name your horse Jerry?”
“Yeah! You named yours Tom, so I’m going to name mine Jerry! Since both of them are siblings!”
“Oh no..” Eunjung muttered as she looked around the old, dirty and shabby shed. It seems that this is where she was when she was just a teenager.
“What are you doing?”
A deep voice made Eunjung turn towards the voice with the sword pointing towards its owner.
The man was already pointing his arrow towards Eunjung, his eyes narrowing towards her. He looked like he was about to shoot her anytime.
Both of them had a staring contest, Eunjung trying to figure out who is the dirty silvered haired man.
“Who are you? Jack Frost?” voiced Eunjung, her voice came out nonchalant - which caused the silver haired man to frown slightly followed by letting out a slight smirk.
“Yeah, part time Jack Frost. I could say the same thing to you as well. Who are you and what are you doing in my shed?”
“Your shed? This is your shed?” questioned Eunjung as she slowly put down her sword. The man opposite her was still on guard, his arrow still pointing at her.
“Yeah, what about it?” he muttered as Eunjung looked around.
“It’s shabby, alright. It’s dirty and dusty. Any horse who lives here might fall ill anytime,” complained Eunjung, causing the man to frown deeply - a very visible frown is plastered on his face, trying to figure out who this very brave young woman is.
No one had dared to point a sword nor speaking casually towards him, since he is a prince. A prince to the kingdom of where the young woman is stepping foot to.
“Who are you? You aren’t surely not the one who poisoned the queen,” mumbled Bambam - making Eunjung snap her head towards him, seeing him lowering his arrow.
“Poisoned? The queen is poisoned?” repeated Eunjung as the man stared at her.
“What? You surely didn’t suspect me to be the one who poisoned the queen. I haven’t even stepped foot in her kingdom for years.” confessed Eunjung as she tilted her head, her hands on her hips as she turned towards Tom.
“You have to get me to the queen,” Eunjung turned towards the man who looked taken aback.
“Why? What’s your relationship with her?” he asked in curiosity.
“I’m the one who is being sent to cure the queen,”
Tumblr media
“Why didn’t you say so?” he questioned as he turned towards the mysterious woman, as she was pulling her horse along.
The young prince instantly believed the woman as soon as she showed him the different types of tools being used by a royal doctor.
“You were suspecting me while trying to slowly shoot me in the head. What am I supposed to say?”
The silvered hair man chuckled as he watched the woman shaking her head.
“I have never seen you before, and I guess you have never seen me before too - hearing the way how you talk to me,” he trailed off and she turned towards him with a slight frown.
“That’s because I’m not from here,”
“Right, as I guessed.” he continued as he guided the woman and her horse into the palace, going towards a secret passageway.
“I’ve never seen this passage before. Is this for the royals?” she voiced out while her eyes roamed around the underground tunnel.
“Yes it is. Only the royals in our palace know this. Not even the guards or the maids know. That’s how I escaped most of the royal meetings,” he boasted, causing her to look at him weirdly.
“You escape royal meetings? Won’t the queen be furious?”
“Why would she? I’m mostly the one who is incharge of everything.”
“You?”
Eunjung looked at him in confusion as the young man looked at her in disbelief - still not figuring out what is his title.
“Well I’m—
“Your majesty!”
A royal maid came running towards both of them while yelling towards them.
“Your majesty! It’s the queen! She is coughing blood! We need the doctor!”
Eunjung looked towards the silvered hair man, as she held onto his hand - causing him to turned towards her with a worried expression.
“You have to get me to her, now. Before it’s too late,”

In The Royal House.
Tumblr media
➵  Everyone thought that the princess was dead, but what happens when the claimed ‘dead’ princess steps foot in Prince Youngjae’s kingdom?
characters ➵ Hwang Jinae, Choi Youngjae
warnings ➵ none
Tumblr media
“Your highness,”
“Your majesty,”
Prince Youngjae nods his head as he passed the royal butlers, servants and the royal generals - acknowledging their presence as he walked through the busy hallways of the royal house.
It is busy because Prince Youngjae’s kingdom is having its 70th anniversary gala the next day where the royal family celebrates the existence of the kingdom.
It’s a celebration open to everyone, even the citizens get to celebrate in their own way.
It’s an important celebration for the Prince Youngjae’s family as the other royal families will be visiting upon the invitation of the King and Queen.
But Prince Youngjae sees it as something that is not enjoyable - he prefers to celebrate with his own family, his own people rather than inviting other royal families.
Prince Youngjae is known to be quiet, mysterious yet kind hearted and a gentleman at his own kingdom.
There were rumors going around the royal house that he was supposed to be the next in line but Prince Youngjae himself denied to be the one taking the next throne.
No one knows why Prince Youngjae didn’t want to be the next King but everyone knows he somehow had to be the next King.
As he was going down the stairway, Prince Youngjae unfortunately overheard a conversation of the royal maids.
“Did you know she is coming back?”
“She is coming back? After years?”
“Yes! Everyone is curious about how she looks. She was just a small kid when she is here,”
“Well.. I wonder if she knows that she is a royal too since her family is a royal themselves,”
What on earth are they talking about?
She?
Who is she?
Prince Youngjae frowns as he just continues walking down the stairs, making the royal maids gasp as they see how fast Prince Youngjae sprinted down. They didn’t even have the time to even greet him.
Prince Youngjae’s mind was bothered by what the maids were talking about.
He was curious about who they were talking about.
It couldn’t be the one he had thought about.
Princess Hwang Jinae.
It has been years.
Prince Youngjae and Prince Jinae were childhood best friends. They were actually more than best friends.
They even made stupid promises regarding their future togther.
It goes way back and to sum it up, King Hwang gave the kingdom of where Prince Youngjae is living now as a gift to King Choi - Prince Youngjae’s father.
Prince Youngjae remembered that he was fearful of King Hwang but as the young prince grew up, he understood the King’s behaviour.
The King is actually a nice man. He is friends with the Prince’s father - they are best friends. Prince Youngjae heard that King Hwang had helped the prince’s family regarding their financial problems and more.
The Choi royal family is grateful to King Hwang.
Hence, Prince Youngjae and Princess Jinae are as close as ever.
One unfortunate day, Princess Jinae went missing and somehow Prince Youngjae found out that she was taken by her family forcefully to other kingdoms - since King Hwang is one of the most fearful kings and he was always involved with wars.
It left Prince Youngjae with a scarred heart.
The sad part is - till this day, whenever Prince Youngjae remembers her, no one hears about the Princess of Hwang Kingdom.
Everyone believes that she is dead.
Prince Youngjae looked at the main floor - where the masquerade will be held, seeing the royal servants and helpers running their way back and forth as they decorate the floor.
With a sigh, he continued his walks in the royal house.
Tumblr media
She loves the sea, the sea is like the second home to her.
Living on the ship made her love the sea more - although she has experience being sea sick. All of the crew on the ship has experienced sea sickness but in the long run, they get used to it.
“Your highness! You have an invitation!”
The princess looked towards where her butler is - seeing his excited face, it must be something positive.
“What is it?” Jinae smiled as she saw her butler running towards her, handing the card towards her.
“How did you get the letter? Is it by an eagle?” questioned Jinae as she smirked towards the butler.
“We are in a ship, your highness. Of course it must be an eagle.” said the butler in a flustered manner.
“The fact that it’s normal for us to receive letters by an eagle. It’s quite funny isn’t it?”
“Well, we’ve been living in a ship for more than 5 years, your highness. There’s no other way,” answered the butler with a slight shrug, causing the princess to giggle as her eyes turned towards the letter.
This is an invitation to Princess Hwang Jinae, Daughter of King Hwang of Kingdom Hwang.
You have been invited to the Kingdom of Choi’s 70th Anniversary.
Dear Princess Jinae,
This is Queen Choi personally writing to you. It’s been more than 5 years, my dear. How are you? I’ve been contacted last minute by your parents that you are alive. We all thought that you are dead. Your parents told us that you have been contacting them by mail and it was sent by eagles? Is that true? In that case, it is understandable that it must be hard to write letters and to be delivered later than expected. I hope that you will receive this in time.
Yours sincerely and dearly,
Queen of Choi
“It’s from the Choi Kingdom,” muttered Jinae as she looked towards the sea with a soft sigh.
Indeed it has been years.
Throughout the 7 years, Jinae hasn’t even stopped by Choi's Kingdom - she hasn't even set foot on her own kingdom.
Sailing to different kingdoms to help them, going on wars to get back the throne to its rightful owners, escaping villains that wanted her to be dead.
Living in a ship was the only way to escape from the dangerous scenarios.
That was the first 4 years as they didn’t know it was the Princess of Hwang, from Hwang Kingdom - people feared the King of Hwang Kingdom.
The remaining years were easier for the princess and her crew as people already figured out that she is the 1st daughter of King Hwang.
She even decorated her own ship with her kingdom’s logo - her ship that is known as Voyage of The Hwang’s ship, making people in different kingdoms recognize her immediately.
“It’s weird that they think that I’m dead,” voiced Jinae as she turned towards the butler.
“It's been years, your highness. I doubt that they would even recognize you. You were just a little kid after all when you are in the Kingdom of Choi,” the butler spoke his thoughts.
At the same time, the horn, a sound of her own kingdom was blown, making both the butler and the princess to look upwards - seeing the sea captain.
“We are now heading towards the Kingdom of Choi!” The sea captain announced, earning a few acknowledgements from the crews of the ship and a nod from the princess.
“Are you excited, your highness?” the butler questioned towards the princess who was staring ahead, seeing the clear blue sea.
“A little,” muttered Jinae as she smiled a little, remembering her childhood friend.
Tumblr media
“We are now reaching the Kingdom of Choi!” The sea captain sang and Jinae quickly took her sword set that has carvings of her kingdom’s logo at the ends of her sword on her waist and her archery set on her chest.
With a soft sigh, Jinae went up the stairs as she could already see the kingdom. A home to her when she was just a child.
Her eyes roam glitters as it roams around the town as the ship slightly bumped onto the grounds.
The sea captain blew the sound of the horn, indicating it is the arrival of the princess and her crew.
As the crew set foot on the grounds, they were met with weird and curious stares from the people. No one bowed towards the princess, which made her crew feel annoyed and pissed.
It is considered rude not to bow to the royalty.
“Your highness, I don’t think they recognize you.” the butler whispered to her as the grip onto her sword tightened. Jinae was obviously sad.
“No worries. Tell the others to be wary since they don’t recognize us. Anything could happen,” muttered Jinae towards the butler as he could only nod.
Jinae’s eyes roam around the town, seeing people looking towards her ways. She could even hear them whispering and she could hear words like ‘pirates’ ‘what are pirates doing in our kingdom?’ ‘ why didn’t the royal guards arrest them?’
She understands them, her crew looks like pirates. Even she herself looked like one, with a bow on her back and her swords on the both of her sides.
“The place has changed a lot. I don’t recognize the areas,” said Jinae as she turned towards the butler who was just looking at her with a sad smile.
“Right, it’s been more than 5 years,” muttered Jinae to herself as she kept looking around, trying to find places that she could remember during her childhood times.
Her adventures had to be stopped when a few big men approached them. Jinae then figured that they are bandits.
“What are pirates doing here?” One of the bandits spoke as he looked towards Jinae in an uncomfortable manner.
Her crew was about to pick up their swords but Jinae stopped them.
“We’re here to settle down. We mean no harm,” answered Jinae confidently, her posture was as high as ever - since she is a princess.
“Pirates like you don’t settle down. They steal,” One of the bandits answered and Jinae sighed as she shook her head - looking at her crew, indicating them to just ignore these bandits.
It would be bad if her men showed violents. It’s not her kingdom after all, not anymore.
“Hey! We’re not done yet!” One of the bandits ran towards Jinae but he was met with Jinae’s sword, perfectly pointing towards the bandit’s face.
Inches away and with just  a step, the bandit could have been sliced on the face.
“I’m afraid we are done,” Jinae muttered as she glared fiercely towards the bandit. The bandit could only gulp in fear, seeing his own men being trapped with Jinae’s crew.
His expression becomes paler as soon as he sees Jinae’s sword that has her kingdom’s logo at the end of it.
“It can’t be. You’re dead,” The bandit muttered and Jinae’s expression became colder.
“And I’m back alive,” whispered Jinae as she smirked - putting down her sword as she walked past the bandit while eyeing on him, not knowing that there were royal guards who were watching the scene from far.
