I'm apologising in advance about how much I've accidentally turned this mini comic into a Saintspierre Shojo Romance. This genuinely wasn't my intention but thats definitely the direction it went 😂

Working on special little Frev comic, have somehow made Saint-Just much more ✨Shojo manga✨ than I intended.
Here he is giving Barère a really icy stare lol

bless these people from Hatchette, time and time again, offering way below mininum wage for book illustration work.
This happens to me like once a year, its always for something autism or mental health themed- I feel like they think they can get away with paying peanuts if its to a disabled artist. They like to throw in the classic 'this book is going to do so much good for the world' line, as if that's changes the fact that what they're paying wont even cover a month's rent.
Anyways, they offer barely anything (including no royalties, and a deadline thats in less than a month), and seemed to have forgotten that I got a book published with them that sends me royalty statements, so I know exactly how much profit they are earning from my one book lol
Buddies, you made like 12k from my book alone in the last 6 months, let alone all those other books you got out there in the world, some much more famous than me! Don't offer me a lousy £350 for 9 illustrations when I know you made 12k just from one book!

I love that folks are being more accepting of autism, but I don't love that autism is being sanitized into a quirk.
There's a cute and acceptable form of autism on social media, and I don't see any indication that folks are remotely ready for discussing the rest of it, which contains all the uncomfortable things that impede a person's everyday life, require support, and make acceptance almost impossible—where the hygiene struggles, inappropriate social behaviors, involuntary movements and outbursts, meltdowns, and emotional dependence issues live. And the cuter and more sanitized the "good" autism gets, the more unacceptable the "bad" autism becomes.

Feeling very demotivated with work atm- because my editor never, ever gets back to me. The original time I was supposed to get first edits back for this next book was autumn 2022 lmao
Everyone else I know who signed a two book deal at same time as me, has their second book already out or coming out this year. While I'm here working hard but with no clue what the edits will be on it. But yknow I would*like* to get paid this year I need some kind of security in my very insecure financial life, so I'm doing what I can to speed up a ridiculously-slow-even-by-publishing-standards process.
But also my editor continues to make promises she doesn't ever keep. She pushes the deadlines back and promises to make this deadline for sure and then doesn't. Over and over.
So I'm really at a point now I think where I'm like, what was the point this past December, where I was working/ignoring family for hours on Christmas Day, so I could reach our new agreed deadline, if my editor never meets her end of the bargain?
Why did I fuck up my drawing wrist last year bending over backwards to get a years worth of income in 3 months, so I can continue to work on this book this year, when Im just flat out being ignored?
I think I'm done now for real. Not working on this any more until I actually hear from her with the edits attached to the email, the promises to have it by next month don't count for anything lol I want an actual attached document with those edits.
And if it now takes years and years to get book 2 done, cos I still have to earn money and need to get other work and can only do like, 1 page per weekend on this book, so be it. She shouldn't have signed a two book deal if she wasn't gonna schedule in the second fucking book lol

Skip Google for Research
As Google has worked to overtake the internet, its search algorithm has not just gotten worse.  It has been designed to prioritize advertisers and popular pages often times excluding pages and content that better matches your search terms
As a writer in need of information for my stories, I find this unacceptable.  As a proponent of availability of information so the populace can actually educate itself, it is unforgivable.
Below is a concise list of useful research sites compiled by Edward Clark over on Facebook. I was familiar with some, but not all of these.
Google is so powerful that it “hides” other search systems from us. We just don’t know the existence of most of them. Meanwhile, there are still a huge number of excellent searchers in the world who specialize in books, science, other smart information. Keep a list of sites you never heard of.
www.refseek.com - Academic Resource Search. More than a billion sources: encyclopedia, monographies, magazines.
www.worldcat.org - a search for the contents of 20 thousand worldwide libraries. Find out where lies the nearest rare book you need.
https://link.springer.com - access to more than 10 million scientific documents: books, articles, research protocols.
www.bioline.org.br is a library of scientific bioscience journals published in developing countries.
http://repec.org - volunteers from 102 countries have collected almost 4 million publications on economics and related science.
www.science.gov is an American state search engine on 2200+ scientific sites. More than 200 million articles are indexed.
www.pdfdrive.com is the largest website for free download of books in PDF format. Claiming over 225 million names.
www.base-search.net is one of the most powerful researches on academic studies texts. More than 100 million scientific documents, 70% of them are free

Tribute to all these revolutionary women coming from the overseas departments and Haiti who fought at risk of their lives for their freedoms and forgotten even more than the women of the French revolution in metropolitan France already well despised.
In this post, although there are many of them, I will cite two of them, I will perhaps write a more detailed post when I have time because it is shameful that these women are not better known: -Sanité Bélair: Lieutenant of Toussaint Louverture, considered the soul of the conspiracy, particularly with her husband Charles Belair and fighter against Leclerc. She was captured, sentenced to death and shot. She showed great courage during her execution like many of her peers. She died but not her ideals and became a great symbol She is considered one of the great heroines of Haiti's fight for independence alongside Catherine Flon, Cecile Faitman and Dédée Bazile. On the Guadeloupe side we have Rosalie alias Solitude, whose historian Mathilde Larrère has written a magnificent article that I invite everyone to read. This woman had joined the community of "maroons". While she was a few months pregnant, she fought against the reestablishment of slavery. Captured, she will be executed like so many others after giving birth. When will there be more tribute to these women by exploring these parts of France? Personally I prefer a hundred (or even a thousand) times more to pay homage to them than Napoleon, who in my opinion, if he survived, failed as emperor, where the people I cited who died for their ideas had a posthumous victory. on the abolition of slavery and the independence of Haiti). Frankly beside the point when we are presented with Madame de Stael or Louise de Prussia as the only female figures standing against Napoleon, I am very sorry that they make a very pale figure regarding the women mentioned earlier (I am not saying that in a goal to clash with Louise of Prussia and Madame de Stael but rather the "thinkers" we can see in media, movie, who voluntarily cite only them to obscure the others because they believe that we can judge Napoleon magnanimously on what he did concerning slavery and do not focus only on the Europe part or worst to the goal to justify the horrors that France did to Guadeloupeans, Reunionese, Haitians, etc, or to the thinkers who only believe in white feminism, etc…).

Why is insincere modesty and fake generosity polite? If you turn something down don't get upset when someone else takes it.
