Algonquin Provincial Park

This shot was taken after sunset on my first day of the trip, it was interesting to see how everything seemed to slow down once the sun set below the horizon. The gust of wind died down along with the sunset, leaving everything perfectly still. Nothing in the air but the sound of the insects. It felt like I was an observer into Nature’s world. It was quite a surreal experience to be canoeing on a lake which was utterly still. It felt like floating on glass, like you were part of a painting. I was almost hesitant to put my paddle into the water as it seems like I was disturbing the serene calm.
