The Prince of Cambridge: Here's the First Look!
By Simon Perry and Tim Nudd
Hail to the (future) king! The world got its first glimpse of William and Kate's newborn son Tuesday on the steps of St. Mary's hospital in London. The day-old prince, swaddled in a blanket, already looked to be waving to the crowd. The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge did not reveal the baby's name – preferring to wait, much as William's parents, Charles and Diana, did 31 years ago in delaying the revelation of his name for several days.

"We are still working on a name, so we will have that as soon as we can," William told reporters gathered outside the hospital. Stepping out of the hospital to cheers, Kate wore a bespoke cornflower blue crepe-de-chine dress by British designer, Jenny Packham, while her husband William wore a matching blue button-down shirt. Pausing to answer questions from the crowd, William said of his new son, "He's got a good pair of lungs on him, that's for sure. He's a big boy – he's quite heavy." He added, when the question came up, "He has got her looks, thankfully." "It's very emotional," Kate said of the experience. "It's a moment that any parent having just given birth will know what this feeling feels like." "It's very special," added William.

The new father also said to the gathered press: "I will remind him of this time when he’s a bit older because I know how long you have all been sat out here, so hopefully the hospital and all you guys can go back to normal now and we can look after him." As for the baby's hair, "He has way more than me, thank God," said his father. Regarding the changing of the diaper: "He's done his first nappy," Kate said of the proud dad. Royal sources confirm William practiced putting in the car seat and driving away in the run-up to his smooth performance Tuesday. In a statement from the Palace, the young couple continued to thank the hospital staff – just as they did earlier that day. "Her Royal Highness The Duchess of Cambridge will be discharged this evening from St. Mary’s Hospital, Paddington. The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge and their son will travel home to Kensington Palace. Their Royal Highnesses would like to reiterate their thanks to the hospital for the care and treatment they have all received." – With reporting by PHIL BOUCHER

Judge Orders $1 Million Returned to Exotic Dancer
By Geetika Rudra | ABC News Blogs – 5 hours ago
A federal judge has ruled that Nebraska cops must return over $1 million confiscated at a traffic stop from a woman who saved the money $1 at a time during her 15 year career as an exotic dancer.
The money belongs to Tara Mishra, 33, of Rancho Cucamonga, Calif., who began putting aside her earnings when she started dancing at age 18, according to an opinion U.S. District Judge Joseph Bataillon wrote last week. The money was meant to start her business and get out of the stripping business, the judge wrote.
State troopers confiscated the money in March 2012 when they pulled over Rajesh and Marina Dheri, of Montville, N.J., for speeding in Nebraska, according to court documents. The Dheris are friends of Mishra and had been given the cash so they could buy a nightclub in New Jersey. Mishra would own half of the business and the Dheris would own the other half.
Mishra had packaged the money in $10,000 bundles tied with hair bands and placed in plastic bags, and it was stashed in the trunk of the Dheri's rented car, which the Dheris were driving to Chicago. When they were pulled over for speeding, a state trooper asked the Dheris if he could search their vehicle, which they allowed, Bataillon explained.
The state trooper found the money and after suspecting it was drug money took the Dheris into custody, according to the judge's opinion. But police did not find any evidence of drug activity in the car and a K-9 analysis found only trace elements of illegal drugs on the cash, according to Bataillon.
Neither Mishra nor the Dheris could not be reached for comment.
"The government failed to show a substantial connection between drugs and the money," Bataillon wrote in his opinion. "The dog sniff is inconsequential…The court finds the Mishras' story is credible…Ms. Mishra did have control over the money and directed the Dheris to deliver the money to New Jersey for the purchase of the business."
Bataillon ordered that Mishra receive cash or a check in the value of $1,074,000 with interest.

AP NewsBreak: Homeland Security official probed
By ALICIA A. CALDWELL, Associated Press : July 23, 2013 : Updated: July 23, 2013 11:28am
WASHINGTON (AP) — President Barack Obama's choice to be the No. 2 official at the Homeland Security Department is under investigation for his role in helping a company secure an international investor visa for a Chinese executive, The Associated Press has learned.
U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services Director Alejandro Mayorkas, who has been nominated to be the department's No. 2 leader, was named by the DHS Inspector General's Office as a target in an ongoing investigation about the foreign investor program run by USCIS.
According to an email sent to lawmakers Monday evening, the IG's office said that it initially started investigating the EB-5 visa program last year based on a referral from an FBI analyst in the counter intelligence unit in Washington.
In the email detailing the case, the IG's office said "at this point in our investigation, we do not have any findings of criminal misconduct." The email does not specify what criminal violations it is investigating.
White House press secretary Jay Carney referred questions to the DHS inspector general's office, which said the probe is in its preliminary stage and that it doesn't comment on the specifics of investigations.
The EB-5 program allows foreign nationals to get a visa if they invest $500,000 to $1 million in a project or business that creates jobs for U.S. citizens. The amount of the investment required depends on the type of project. Investors who are approved for the program can become legal permanent residents after two years and would later be eligible to become citizens.
The White House did not have an immediate comment on the investigation. Neither the department nor USCIS immediately responded to inquiries.
Were Mayorkas confirmed as the department's deputy secretary, he likely would run the department on an interim basis until a permanent replacement has been approved to take over for departing Secretary Janet Napolitano.
The email said the primary complaint against Mayorkas was that he helped a financing company run by Anthony Rodham, the brother of former Secretary of State Hillary Rodham Clinton, to win approval for an investor visa, even after the application was denied and an appeal was rejected.
Mayorkas, a former U.S. attorney in California, previously came under fire for his involvement in the commutation by President Bill Clinton of the prison sentence of the son of a Democratic Party donor. Another of Hillary Clinton's brothers, Hugh Rodham, had been hired by the donor to lobby for the commutation. Mayorkas told lawmakers during his 2009 confirmation hearing that "it was a mistake" to talk to the White House about the request.
According to the Inspector General's email, the investigation of the investor visa program also includes allegations that other USCIS Office of General Counsel officials obstructed an audit of the visa program by the Securities and Exchange Commission. The email did not name any specific official from the general counsel's office.
The email says investigators did not know whether Mayorkas was aware of the investigation. The FBI's Washington Field Office was told about the investigation in June after it inquired about Mayorkas as part of the White House background investigation for his nomination as deputy DHS secretary.
The FBI in Washington has been concerned about the investor visa program and the projects funded by foreign sources since at least March, according to emails obtained by The AP.
The bureau wanted details of all of the limited liability companies that had invested in the EB-5 visa program. Of particular concern, the FBI official wrote, was Chinese investment in projects, including the building of an FBI facility.
"Let's just say that we have a significant issue that my higher ups are really concerned about and this may be addressed way above my pay grade," the official wrote. The FBI official's name was redacted in the email.
Chinese investment in U.S. infrastructure projects has long been a concern of the U.S. government. In September, the Obama administration blocked a Chinese company from owning four wind farm projects in northern Oregon that were near a Navy base used to fly unmanned drones and electronic-warfare planes on training missions. And in October, the House Intelligence Committee warned that two leading Chinese technology firms, Huawei Technologies Ltd. and ZTE Corp., pose a major security threat to the U.S. Both firms have denied being influenced by the Chinese government.
The most routine users of the EB-5 program are Chinese investors. According to an undated, unclassified State Department report about the program obtained by the AP, the U.S. Consulate in Guangzhou, China, processed more investor visas in the 2011 fiscal year than any other consulate or embassy. The document says "applicants are usually coached and prepped for their interviews, making it difficult to take at face value applicants' claims" about where their money comes from and whether they hold membership in the Chinese Communist Party. Party membership would make an applicant ineligible for the investor visa.
Anthony Rodham is president and CEO of Gulf Coast Funds Management LLC in McLean, Va. The firm is one of hundreds of "Regional Centers" that pool investments from foreign nationals looking to invest in U.S. businesses or industries as part of the foreign investor visa program.
There was no immediate response to an email sent to Gulf Coast requesting comment.
It is unclear from the IG's email why the investor visa application was denied. Visa requests can be denied for a number of reasons, including a circumstance where an applicant has a criminal background or is considered a threat to national security or public safety.

"We could not be happier," Prince William said Monday through his spokesman. Unlike previous royals, William was at his wife’s side as she gave birth and spent Monday night in the hospital. However, the couple are expected to follow tradition by debuting the baby on the steps when they leave St Mary's Hospital, just as Prince Charles and late mother, Princess Diana, did with Prince William." On Monday, palace officials confirmed that Kate Middleton gave birth at St. Mary’s Hospital to a boy, weighing 8 lbs, 6 oz at 4:42 pm. The newborn, officially called the Prince of Cambridge is the first royal to use the title in 100 years.   The royal family (along with the rest of the world) rejoiced. "The Queen, The Duke of Edinburgh, The Prince of Wales, The Duchess of Cornwall, Prince Harry and members of both families have been informed and are delighted with the news," according to an email sent to he press.
Also expressing his joy was Prince Charles who released a statement through Clarence House, saying he is "enormously proud and happy to be a grandfather for the first time." "Both my wife and I are overjoyed at the arrival of my first grandchild," he said. "It is an incredibly special moment for William and Catherine and we are so thrilled for them on the birth of their baby boy." The Duchess of Cornwall added: "It's wonderful for the grandfather. He's brilliant with children so he'll have a wonderful time."
Even President Barack Obama sent his well wishes. "Michelle and I are so pleased to congratulate The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge on the joyous occasion of the birth of their first child," he said in a statement released by the White House. "We wish them all the happiness and blessings parenthood brings. The child enters the world at a time of promise and opportunity for our two nations. Given the special relationship between us, the American people are pleased to join with the people of the United Kingdom as they celebrate the birth of the young prince."

Mini-tour golfer shoots ultra-low 56
By Will Gray
Jul 22, 2013 3:34 PM ET
During a golf season that has already seen several low scores carded across the country, mini-tour player Jesse Massie has raised the bar considerably.
Massie, a 25-year-old that competes primarily on the NGA Hooters Tour's Carolina Series, played 18 holes Friday at Glenmary Golf Course in Louisville, Ky., and shot 67. That same afternoon, he went back out with his playing partners at Glenmary and beat his earlier score.
By 11 shots.
Playing the 6,450-yard, par-72 layout from the tips, Massie shot a 16-under 56, a round that included one eagle, 14 birdies and – improbably – a penalty stroke.
"When he came into the shop, he was shaking," explained Jack Ridge, head pro at Glenmary. "I couldn't believe it. Nobody walks in and says they shot a 56."
Massie reached 17 of the 18 greens in regulation during his record round, remarkably needing only 21 putts. The lone green missed resulted from his tee shot at the par-4 fifth hole, where Massie's drive became lodged in a cedar tree. After taking a drop for an unplayable lie, he got up and down from 150 yards to save par, one of only three pars he carded during the round.
"I was more nervous when I was 11- or 12-under, because you want to break 60 so bad," said Massie, who added that his round included 10 made putts from outside 12 feet. "By the time I got to 14-under, I was just trying to get to the clubhouse."
Though Massie's round was not in a competitive setting, it still serves as a noteworthy total. To put the score in perspective, the lowest round recorded on either the PGA Tour or Web.com Tour is a 59. Additionally, both Ryo Ishikawa and Shigeki Maruyama have shot 58s in competition, the former during an Asian Tour event and the latter coming in a sectional qualifier for the 2000 U.S. Open.
Massie will hope to capitalize on the momentum from his ultra-low round when he next tees it up competitively at the Kentucky Open, held Aug. 6-8 in Bowling Green.
"It was just one of those days where you wonder what exactly is going on," he added.

Tuna capsizes boat, drags fisherman into Pacific before Coast Guard rescue
By David Simpson, for CNN
updated 10:35 AM EDT, Mon July 22, 2013
(CNN) -- Anthony Wichman probably rather would have told the story of the one that got away.
Instead, the 54-year-old Koloa, Hawaii, man won his one-hour battle with a 230-pound Ahi tuna -- but only after the fish nearly drowned him and left him clinging to his capsized boat.
The Coast Guard said it rescued Wichman by zeroing in on his cell phone signal about 10 miles southwest of Port Allen, Kauai, Friday morning.
While gasping for air, the stranded fisherman called his daughter, Anuhea Wichman.
She told CNN affiliate KHON her father hooked the tuna and got it onto his 14-foot boat after about an hour.
"He gaffed it once in the back, and the second gaffe went straight into the fish's eye and that caused the fish to take a final dive. And he dove straight down, and the line wrapped around my dad's ankle and pulled him overboard," Anuhea Wichman said.
When she answered his phone call, she said, "All I could hear was him hyper-ventilating and I could hear him puking." He managed to say "sinking" and "Coast Guard."
After that call, the Coast Guard reached him on the phone and worked with 911 operators to determine his position. A rescue diver dropped from a helicopter and helped hoist him aboard.

Wichman suffered only a few bruises and a rope burn, KOHN reported.
Even better, two friends who arrived to tow Wichman's boat to shore discovered the tuna still was hooked and attached to the capsized vessel.
Wichman's family asked the fishermen to keep the tuna as a token of their appreciation, KOHN said.

Von Miller appealing suspension
By Adam Schefter | ESPN
Denver Broncos Pro Bowl linebacker Von Miller is facing a four-game suspension for violating NFL policy, according to multiple sources.
Miller A Force For Broncos
If Von Miller loses the appeal of his four-game suspension, his absence will leave a huge void for the Broncos' defense. A look at his NFL rank in three key categories the past two seasons:
Category Stat NFL Rank Sacks 30.0 4th Forced fumbles 8 T-4th Disrupted dropbacks 34.0 T-6th -- ESPN Stats & Information
The case currently is in the appeals process so it's uncertain whether the suspension ultimately will stand.
The league has a strict confidentiality clause on such cases. If the case works the way it's supposed to, the NFL would only comment if the appeal failed.
But at the very least, Denver will be dealing with another significant issue during training camp. Last week, the team suspended director of player personnel Matt Russell indefinitely without pay and director of pro personnel Tom Heckert for one month without pay for their recent drunken-driving arrests.
If Miller is suspended in Week 1, the Broncos would be facing the defending champion Ravens without the star linebacker and Elvis Dumervil, who was released by Denver this offseason and later signed with Baltimore.
Miller, 24, had 18.5 sacks last season for the Broncos.
