I think KEY is going to revive what was lost, and I am emotional to know that I will experience another ND game just like I did when I first played DDI at 6…. And the last time when I was 16 playing SEA… 😭😭😭😭😭😭😭

HeR just announced limited physical copies will be available a few months after the game is digitally released on their site!!!! (It will also be available on Steam a few months after as well)!

THIS IS HUGE!!!!! Ever since the release of MID, fans were split on navigation, but now… YOU CAN CHOOSE! Yes! In a press release on Newswire, it was revealed that for the first time in a ND game, fans can choose the style of navigation. Thank you @tori_nd_piano for bringing this to our attention on our trailer stream from a couple days ago!!!! 🤯🤯🤯

FINALLY getting to catch up and embrace the excitement with you all!!! @nancydrewpcgames just randomly decided to drop us the BEST present: the game icon for KEY! 🔑
⤴️ THIS is why it’s soooo important! @ndwalkthroughs made the most excellent point in his breakdown video that Sea of Darkness revealed the icon in March, just before releasing the game in May. @emullinsstreams mentioned to me yesterday that she had revisited all of the past blog posts where games icons were revealed and LOOK! There’s a pattern! Several game icons are revealed in March with a May release. After I completed this graphic, however, I noticed another pattern… 👀🚨 Most of these games were all released on a Tuesday in May. Soooo maybe that can help us narrow down the release of KEY?! 😁
Now with all this new information, it seems most likely that once we reach the April 1 mark, commemorating a year since this all began, we’ll probably get a release date, store product page (pre-order), and/or trailer 🤩 All very exciting!

I think, or at least in my opinion, the company is AND isn't the same as it used to be. In major ways, the company has changed how it makes games/posts on social media in order to keep up with larger gaming companies. I think they're just trying to keep up with what's trendy
And in smaller ways, they still keep a lot of traditions the same. Continuing the amateur sleuth blog, hiding clues and puzzles within them, releasing game icons, running contests... they've *been* doing that for the past 15 years!!
They did not do an icon reveal for MID. And while there were a lot of errors in how they handled communication during the production of MID and also the game was not as exciting as hoped, I cannot fault the company for the in-between period of MID and KEY, given the pandemic delay. Truthfully, I believe game 34 would have been here waaaayyyy sooner if it hadn’t happened.
Looking at the history of HeR, however, I really believe they would not have been as steady with sales afterward the release of MID, but fortunately for them (unfortunately for the rest of the world in a lot of ways) the pandemic boosted them. Like, I truly believe it saved them. People began streaming the games and creating niche content for them, resurging a love for them.
I guess in relation to KEY, it's very promising that they've already confirmed it's releasing this year in 2024. So already knowing that, they really may be dropping big news soon.
(It is also encouraging to know, that we already know they're working on game 35 - Case of the Missing Clue). It seems they're doing the best to get back to the roots that make them, THEM! I actually believe they may be on a faster schedule now that they’ve already crested a game using this system, know when to tease/market better and gauge when things will be done. I’m just all around hopeful because I see their changes, and I think they’re good 😄

You know something I’ve always been interested in was diving more into Kyler and Kit’s former relationship. Interestingly, and if I’m remembering this correctly, when looking at the game files, this photo you find of K+K around the fireplace is titled “old college photo.” What’s interesting is when looking at former Waverly Academy alumni, Kyler graduated in 1995. I’m curious to know how they met, what their relationship was like, did Kit visit her at Waverly? So many questions. And I love the web that is the ND universe 🌟
**ETA: Casey_nickerson1 on IG pointed out an excellent observation! It is the flower stand from Venice as the couple’s backdrop. Now I must know: did they study abroad together? Vacation together?! I HAVE QUESTIONS!!!!!
