Wei Zhong: Storyteller!AU (Pt. 3)
It was another rainy night again...
I looked up at the window, it was a heavy rain with couple of thunderstorms kept appearing. I sighed, feeling skeptical about my career that night. “Who would go outside in a rainy night such as this?” I thought to myself. Perhaps I should call it a day or... I looked at the clock hanging at the wall. It was still 9 pm, perhaps I should wait a little longer. Turning the page of my book as I took a sip of the tea I prepared on my own, I decided to wait a little bit longer.
Ah, yes... You might be wondering, what kind of career do I have? Why was I just waiting at my home, rather than going outside, going to a place you called an office like a ‘normal’ people? Why am I spending my time waiting near my fireplace in the middle of cold night, waiting of the uncertainty rather than sleeping underneath a warm blanket? Well, even if I tell you about my career, you probably will call me a fraud. I think it’s useless to tell you in this part. I may tell you in the future, well at least when I already find a customer that is... But, even though I told you how I handle my customer, perhaps you wouldn’t even believe it. Funny, though I will not blame you. That is a human nature after all. Some of them are ‘smart’ enough to not believe in a mere story and choose to see it themselves...
Knock knock
Well, what a surprise. It sounded like I finally got a visitor. I guess I was wrong after all. There were still people who would still pursue what they want, even though the nature was preventing them from doing so.
“Come in,” I said calmly.
I heard the sound of the main door slowly opened. A sound of footsteps immediately followed after. I sensed the presence grew closer and closer. I looked up and saw a young lady, soaking wet standing in front of me. Her eyes were saddened, it seemed an unfortunate event had struck her.
“Are you... Mr. Frederick Alfred Stafford?” she asked with a soft voice, mentioning my name.
I closed my eyes as I nodded. Giving her my usual smile, I asked, “Is there something I can do to help, young lady?”
“May I have my fortune be told?”

Wei Zhong: Storyteller!AU (Pt. 2)
I finally let the boy in.
I directed him towards the fireplace. As he sat in front of it, I went to my bedroom to grab a blanket for him. When I came back, I saw him just staring blankly at the fireplace without moving or blinking at all. It was as if he was actually a statue. But, I don’t mind it anyway. I knelt near him and draped the blanket around his shoulders. He didn’t really react to my treatment.
“Do you require anything else?” I asked with a gentle voice.
He just shook his head. But, seeing his pale and slender body he had, I felt bad if I didn’t give him some food. So, I went to my kitchen and see if there was anything I could give to him to eat. Unfortunately, I only found tea and a some snack at my cupboard. So, I prepared for him just that.
“Here.” I said as put a cup of tea and a plate of snacks near him. He looked at me, surprised. “But, Mr, I can’t eat this.” He replied.
I smiled and replied to him, “It’s fine. You can eat it.”
For the first time, I saw him smile brightly. He looked like a really a sweet boy. “Thank you, Mr.” he said happily as he grabbed a piece of the snack and eat it.
I replied him with a nod. I sat near him to accompany him. He was busy with his snack. I could see he had some crumbles around his mouth. But, after awhile, he looked at me and asked, “Mr, you like to read a story, right?”
“That’s right. I did that every night.”
“Can you tell me one?”
“I can’t tell you fairy tales.”
“That’s okay. You can tell me any story. I’ll listen.”
“Fine, then. Don’t say I didn’t warn you.”
I sat at my chair and grabbed my favorite book. Flipping pages and pages, wondering about whose story I should tell to him. My book stopped at certain page. An interesting story was written. I smiled as I began to read the story.
There is a story about a man...
who was once a loving father.
Until he was obsessed with material...
and worship it as if it was a god...
I looked at the boy once in a while as a keep reading the story. He just sit in silence and keep his gaze straight. He didn’t react, only listen. It made me enjoy telling the story even more. He kept doing the same thing until I finally finished my story. Yes, I like it this way rather than interrupting me with pointless reactions. After telling one long story, I closed the book and look at him again.
“An interesting story... You really are good at this, Mr.” he said as he stood up with a smile. “Well, I’m feeling better now. Thank you for letting me stay, Mr.”
“Your welcome.” I said as I turned my attention away for a moment to place my book at the nearby table. As I looked back at him, he was nowhere to be seen. I looked at the tea and snack I gave him before. None of them seemed touched. Amused by it, I smiled.
Of course... It was obvious enough...

Wei Zhong: Storyteller!AU (Pt. 1)
No customer again.
I closed my book and looked around. There was no visitor, just like the usual. I sighed in despair and put the book at the table beside my favorite chair. The atmosphere was far too quiet with only fire in the fireplace lightened the entire room. Honestly, I did like this atmosphere. I could sit here calmly and enjoy the story I read. But, it surely became boring as this kept happen and happen. I grabbed the cup placed on the table, drinking the warm red tea inside it.
And I heard the rain started to pour.
I could see the gale from the nearby window made many raindrops went inside my house. I stood up and closed the window. It started to get colder in here, maybe it was already midnight. I should probably go to bed. Before I could take a step to lock my front door, the knocking sound suddenly distracted me.
Who is it at this time?
“Come in,” I said.
But, it was strangely quiet. I frowned in confusion. Was that just my imagination? I was going to lock the front door anyway. Might as well check the outside first. As I walked closer to the front door, I could hear the knocking sound again. This time, it was more frequent than before. I opened the door and looked around. There was nobody there until I looked down.
There was a little boy. He had a black short hair and black eyes. He looked really pale and slender. He wore a dirty white shirt and brown short pants. He looked up at me and I could see him wet and freezing because of the rain.
“Hello, Mr. I’m really sorry to bother you. May I stay for a while?”
