The armor has corroded and is falling away,
The sword and shield remain broken everyday,
But to look at us as we walk by you would never know,
Just how far down this rabbit hole we will go,
Be strong, dont cry, dont be a pansy, dont show the world a damn thing,
But just for a moment lets go out on a wing,
To break the fucking stigma we are raised around,
To have the ability to break when you cant stand your ground,
To say we are tired barely begins to scratch the surface,
Of the injustice of our service,
No one seems to care about the damage you have survived,
They only give a fuck when its finally claimed our lives,
Fix everything around you that you can while never being able to fix the true plague,
The shit you heard everyday regardless of how vague,
Life is measured in moments of impact,
And for this we were never cut any slack,
We stand bruised, bleeding and broken,
Simply waiting to be awoken,
Scrambling to hold the armor in place,
We realize we're still running the race,
Rise fellow knight,
For still breathes this dragons plight,
Armed with a fist or a sword,
If you cant hold I will be your ward,
For the fight is not over and the battle not won,
But you will not be alone even when your war is done.
