He was.... allowed to be upset, huh?

That gave Link pause, primarily because the notion hadn't ever really occurred to him: that he was allowed to emote, to feel anything beyond being stoic & courageous. Of course he FELT, but it was one thing to know that internally and to actually express it outwardly.

". . ." as usual, Link didn't think that he could say much on the topic. Nothing that wouldn't betray his silent oath to everyone in Hyrule & beyond. Maybe it was childish of him to still cling to that quiet promise he'd made the day the Deku Tree fell ill & died, but...

"Link, you feel it too, don't you?" Navi whispered to him. He blinked, but then refocused on the stranger in front of them. Now that she mentioned it, something about the man felt... familiar, in an odd way.

Not unlike that sensation Link had felt when he'd laid hands on the Triforce in the Sacred Realm before falling into that forced slumber for eight or nine years.

Why was it that this man gave off that same energy?

Link nodded, belatedly as if realizing he should actually show some response to what had been said. He gave more thought to it before giving a small thumbs up, and a little smile: hoping he could get across what he meant -- 'thank you'.

“It’s okay to be angry, you know you are allowed to be upset by what’s happened to you, just don’t let it take over everything…”

He was talking from experience on the last part, but the first part was perhaps some advice he could do with taking to heart. The last time he got angry it wasn’t in a healthy way, and he was coming to a point of trying to bottle up so much of it, that it was at risk of exploding.

some things to note about my portrayal:

Link is selectively mute: he can talk but chooses not to about 70% of the time. This is due to parts of his childhood but also in order to keep up an image of a stoic and strong-willed hero. This will make replies, interesting, to say the very least, but I want to do my best to uphold this while still keeping Link communicative; his responses will mostly consist of outward, physical reactions from him. If push comes to shove and he absolutely has to speak, Link will, he just really would rather not.

I am basing my portrayal off of certain aspects of both Ocarina of Time & Majora's Mask. However my portrayal of Link will be canon divergent & headcanon heavy. Unoriginal, I know. I am going to be using icons from the Twilight Princess Manga because I enjoy the aesthetic of that look for Link more and the old OoT manga has outdated art.

I have made my own icons ; not the icon bases but the border surrounding them & the colouring. If you enjoy this style, thank you very much but I ask that you please do not steal. If you're inspired by them and want to make your own, I don't mind in the least that's a compliment!!

Navi is with Link. He was able to find her after the events of Majora's Mask and they reunited. Navi'll probably comment on certain aspects of threads or ask answers but the most part she'll be a quiet observer. You're free to have your muse comment on her or try and speak to her but don't be surprised if she doesn't reply.
