I’ve already posted this artwork, but I ended up making a huge mistake. Vethna looked too pale in my original post. It wasn’t intentional, and even if technically the values were “correct”, the end result was not. It was a pretty reminder that sometimes being too focused on grayscales and values is not the right answer. I still have a lot to learn. Thank you so much to those who had pointed out the problem.
I ended up delete my original post, because I couldn’t properly address the issue there. At the same time I think it’s important, especially for me, to be able to still see that mistake. So under the cut I will post my original work, hopefully it will serve as a reminder for me, and it will be helpful for others as well.
I’m so sorry if I hurt someone by posting my original artwork.
I also want to apologize to @exilethegame for misinterpreting their character.
Stay safe!

is there a line the cast wouldn't ever be willing to cross? :0c
I think all the characters have lines they think they wouldn't cross, but as the author, I'm not so sure. I think anyone can cross any line depending on how bad of a situation they find themself in, and the cast of The Exile most certainly have a habit of finding themselves in tricky situations. So, that being said, here are things the characters tell themselves they would never do. Whether or not they'd ever actually do them or not, I'll leave up to you!
Vethna: Would never use their magic to manipulate someone's emotions regarding them or others. (Force someone to like or love them, for example.)
Nikke: Would never fight a kid (that's not to say the others are out here jonesing to get into a fight with an eight-year-old). He would also never turn his back on his clan.
Jost: What are lines for if they weren't made to be crossed?
Amilia: Amilia, despite her best intentions, does a lot of problematic things with her fae-magic at times. That being said, she would never do something purposefully harmful-- ex, stealing human children, "stealing names" to place curses on them, etc.
Sabir: He would never abuse his power to bring harm to the general public. But that's about it. Otherwise, nothing is fully off the table to him.
Syfyn: No. Before MC snapped, there were a lot of things she swore to never do. But after the incident and everything that happened... I think she could be pushed to do just about anything if you push her just right. And the things she's done under the command of Plaithus are... not great. There aren't many lines she hasn't crossed, to be honest.
Freedom: The one thing they would never do, and I mean ever, is take someone's freedom away. They'll manipulate, they'll lie, they'll push things to the extreme, but at the end of it all, there will always be a choice.

"His scowl deepens with every step you take, and by the time you're standing in front of him you think you can physically feel his hatred rolling off of him in heavy waves. There's almost something intimate and flattering in how intently he stares at you - as if you're the only other person in the room. Who cares if it's because he wants to kill you?"
This scene from chapter 4 still lives rent free in my head @exilethegame
