If anybody is scared of taking their furby in public just note that today a very ecstatic girl ran up to me and began showing me her furby collection because she really liked mine
That’s it. That’s the post. Hope you enjoy some of Haribo’s love too 💕
(Huge huge huge thank you to the one & only @ejfurbish for bringing this gorgeous creature to life and letting him be part of mine - go check out their incredible furbs & custom works! 🧡)
recently, I’ve noticed people selling normal Furbys for over $100 contributing to the trend that Furbies are very rare in any condition and are worth hundreds of dollars I’m sorry but your old crusty, dusty smelly Furby sitting in your basement is not hidden gem at most. It’s probably $30. this is a PSA to all the middle-aged women selling their Furbies for hundreds of dollars on Facebook marketplace
Here are some prices that are good but just remember if your Furby is in rough condition, it’s probably gonna be lower things like a missing tag or missing, eyelash or not working can contribute to them being lower
update I made some propaganda posters feel free to upload these wherever you want
Lowkey one of the reasons I don't mind that I'll have to go back to my home country after the summer is that I'll get to customize some more of my furbies <3 hopefully take on another commission as well
Started out going for “picture of custom leopard Furby I saw on Google images one time” and ended with “tacky, mid 2010s pastel goth iPhone wallpaper”.
Sometimes a custom Furby just happens and there’s nothing I can do.
I don't tend to use a lot of orange or yellow unless they're part of a colour wheel, but wanted something fire-inspired for this. It's another big one, about 43cm (17") across. Blackwork embroidery on 14-count Aida cloth.
every time someone says ‘oh, you knit? do you like it?’ i have the marrow-deep urge to tenderly take their face in my hands and press my lips to their their eyelids and telepathically transmit the full overwhelming awareness that i carry just beneath my skin every moment of every day of how important fiber crafts and textiles are and historically have been to humanity. every stitch i work is a thousand billion stitches that have already been worked and will be worked in the future, from the farthest reaches of prehistory until time immemorial. every spindle i spin is spun with the same flick of uncountable fingers from ages past, all united across history in the deceptively simple movement that has shaped history, and art, is the context within which every single person on earth has ever lived their life and lives their lives still. everything from our phones to our homes is given shape and form by the overlooked but utterly important textile arts.
‘of fucking course i like knitting, you jackass,’ i say gently. ‘i wouldn’t do it otherwise.’
Actually, I’m tired of hearing fiber arts be referred to as “grandma crafts”. I’m going to be honest, I think the association of “this is a thing only boring old people do” is bullshit. One; because older people are rarely genuinely boring. And two; I think it puts people off of learning these things.
