It’s been quite the trip around the sun🔥😅 ⁣ 2020 came with a dump truck full of trails and tribulations but if you’re reading this, congratulations you made it!👏🏼 ⁣ On a personal level, this was a year of learning. I learned things about myself that I never realized, my coping mechanisms, how to communicate more effectively in my relationship, how to prioritize, how to say no, but most importantly how to be content. ⁣ Although I have been on the down-low with sharing content, I have been creating and crafting more now than ever. I have been doing it for myself and my own personal enjoyment. ⁣ There is absolutely nothing wrong with creating content for an audience, but when you become overwhelmed you must take care of yourself before worrying about entertaining others. ⁣ This year has provided me with a clear path for my own journey in personal growth. How often do you utilize scrolls in your campaign?📜 ⁣ Scrolls are a highly under utilized tool; in the heat of the moment they can be easy to forget. But if think about it, they're literally free spell slots and should be used much more often! ⁣ 🤔If you have a wizard or cleric in your party, why not use the party funds to purchase components for them to create scrolls for they party? It's always good to have "buff" spells on-hand; spells that can be cast before combat to give you an advantage. ⁣ This can easily be taken advantage of and be considered "meta-gaming" or "min-maxing" but it may the difference between life and death in some encounters. ⁣ Here's a table you can use for your players to create scrolls in their downtime! ⁣ ⬇️Is downtime something you capitalize on in your campaign? Recently, Logan (@dm_screening) nominated me to share someone I’m thankful for. ⁣ My Caia. ⁣ Explaining what she means to me would be an insurmountable feat, but I'll try anyway. ⁣ Caia supports me no matter WHAT I do. She's content in all things and encourages me to do the same. She constantly reminds me of what I have to thankful for, but not by telling me; but by simply living her life in that manor and leading by example. ⁣ Her intuition and wisdom is beyond her years and she constantly surprises me with such as we encounter life together. Her ability to inherently react with kindness and treat everyone with respect no matter who they are is a testament of her true colors. ⁣ Ultimately she's rolled 18's across the board for her stats😘 ⁣ These have been some dark and difficult times for many. 2020 has been quite the year to say the least. ⁣ We can all agree that it has been a year of hardship; but more importantly it has been a year of growth. Here are 6 truths that I have witnessed time and time again over these past few months. ⁣ • • • ⁣ 💙𝐆𝐫𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐭𝐮𝐝𝐞 𝐬𝐡𝐨𝐮𝐥𝐝 𝐚𝐥𝐰𝐚𝐲𝐬 𝐛𝐞 𝐞𝐱𝐩𝐫𝐞𝐬𝐬𝐞𝐝. No matter how gracious you are, you can always be more thankful, and 𝘦𝘷𝘦𝘳𝘺𝘰𝘯𝘦 has something to be thankful for. ⁣ 🤝𝐃𝐨 𝐧𝐨𝐭 𝐄𝐗𝐏𝐄𝐂𝐓 𝐤𝐢𝐧𝐝𝐧𝐞𝐬𝐬 𝐭𝐨 𝐛𝐞 𝐫𝐞𝐜𝐢𝐩𝐫𝐨𝐜𝐚𝐭𝐞𝐝. Give kindness freely and often. Do not hold people in contempt for not sharing it in return, even if you go over and beyond for them. Life is short, don't take it personally. ⁣ 🎨𝐍𝐞𝐯𝐞𝐫 𝐥𝐞𝐭 𝐜𝐫𝐞𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐯𝐢𝐭𝐲 𝐰𝐚𝐧𝐞. Your loved ones, family, friends, passions, and the things that make you jump out of bed for in the morning. ⁣ 🧘🏼‍♂️𝐂𝐚𝐩𝐢𝐭𝐚𝐥𝐢𝐳𝐞 𝐨𝐧 𝐰𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐲𝐨𝐮 𝐜𝐚𝐧 𝐜𝐨𝐧𝐭𝐫𝐨𝐥. Realistically there are very few things in life that we can actually control, but those few things can have a massive impact on your life (eating healthy, exercise, daily 10-minute meditation, etc). ⁣ 🐥𝐈𝐭 𝐢𝐬 𝐨𝐤 𝐭𝐨 𝐛𝐞 𝐬𝐞𝐥𝐟𝐢𝐬𝐡. Take care of yourself; your mental and physical health, your spirit...get your ducks in a row before you go poking other peoples ducks. ⁣ • • • ⁣ This time away from social media was out of necessity for celebration! Difficult times and hardships are often accompanied by opportunity. In my personal life I was able to achieve new heights at my job, buy a new home, and overall cherish time at home with my family (with the world shut down and all). ⁣ Perspective is everything.
