This is for all white cisgender able bodied women out there and white cisgender abled bodied men. START DECENTERING YOURSELVES and uplift nonbinary & disabled voices. Ya'll complain about your rights being threatened, and yet we have none....LOOK AT YOUR PRIVILEGES.

Autistic culture is hearing people say they don’t like constantly explaining their condition(s) to anyone who asks, and being confused because you like explaining your mental disorders. Then realizing it’s probably because mental disorders/mental illnesses are your special interest.

I hate that no one talks about just how distressing memory loss from adhd actually is. I always see memes that are like “haha I forgot my phone, I don’t remember where my laptop is, etc”, but no one seems to talk about how it can really fuck you up long term to just, not remember things that are completely mundane to non-adhd’ers. The memory loss is, however, so frustrating to us. I cannot physically count how many meltdowns I have had over the sheer mental frustration and torture of not being able to remember seemingly simple things

twice now, i have been called by scammers pretending to be bankers telling me i'd been scammed by someone else, and that they, the scammer/banker, would cancel the fraudulent transactions made in my name as soon as i gave them a bit of information to confirm my identity.

the second guy called me from my local bank branch's number and told me "someone in another city is attempting to make purchases with your debit card information" and after i expressed obvious distress he told me "don't worry, this is what i'm here for. we're going to get your cards/accounts cancelled/closed and then we'll all i need you to do is verify the 6-digit code that i've sent to your phone"

that 6-digit code was the code to reset my online banking password 🙃 which i didn't realize at the time. he then got into my online banking account and e-transferred himself $2,800. my bank reclaimed the money but i had to close my bank accounts, then open new bank accounts, cancel my debit and credit cards, get new debit and credit cards, alert two credit unions that i was a victim of fraud, change all my fucking passwords, etc etc

sorry if this shit is obvious to other people but it was not to me so:

if someone calls you, claiming to be from your bank telling you that there are suspicious charges on your account, hang up on them and call the number on the back of your debit card. worst case scenario, you hung up on someone and called a different person back but at least now you know you're talking to someone from the bank. best case scenario, you just hung up on a scammer and are already on the line with someone to report it.

Growing up with adhd/autism is constantly fluctuating between being too much and not enough for people like. Okay people have told me I'm annoying when I talk too much. But how much is too much? Because my normal is "too much" apparently. I'm just not going to talk at all and let them set the pace. Okay now everyone's saying "you're so quiet". Now I'm the weird quiet one who never talks. Fuck. But now how do I strike up a conversation? It's been too long without talking to them to get to know each other. I'm just going to wait for them to talk to me and then I can ask questions from there. Yay! They're asking me about myself! Wait. I said something wrong and they're not talking to me anymore. Fuck. *new person comes along* Okay. Don't talk too much and also don't talk too little and don't reveal too much about yourself because they'll think you're weird and stop talking to you and also-
