*referring to how many years before you are cursed to the town. Basically if you die. And if your not buried ,within the town limits,or graveyard. Your soul will walk the Earth for eternity. At least until you are returned to Dusk for a proper burial
EXAMPLE, if a resident moved to Portland ,OR after living in Dusk for so many years. And dies in Portland ,without being buried in Dusk. Thier soul can never rest
p.s.a. Agents of The B.P.I. sometimes go to Dusk. But I doubt any would stay for a one whole year straight in order to be cursed. Unless an agent is from Dusk

• • • The Dark one's physical ,bodies are eatable, but its more like "forbidden snacks" category, and this was before they were split & banished. But if one ate a body/corpse of a dark one. Or if one ate, something contaminated by dark one energy, it would mutant the consumer. The results depend on a handful of factors. There has been a case of being mutated by dark one energy. A werewolf who mutated into a dogman.
• • • (bonus) The Primordial Sprint can not have a vessel that is born cis gender. They have to be a born hermaphrodite, in order to be a vessel of The Primordial Spirit. The is no substitute. All previous vessel have died. The Primordial Spirit is the eldest and youngest primordial element. Their manor is neutral good (or true good?). They are only seen as a hooded figure with a ghostly skull. Their voice interchanges from masculine, & feminine (I swear, I posted this lore)
