There’s a fic on fanfiction(.)net that I’ve kept tabs on for years to see if it’s been updated or not. While I’m no longer even in the fandom it’s written for, it just has one of the greatest storylines I’ve ever read. Last time it was updated was 2011.
The other day, I decided to reread the entire thing and leave a very in-depth review of what I thought of each chapter. I also mentioned how I started reading it when I was 13 and am now 21, but always came back to see if it was ever finished because I loved it so dearly.
Today, said author sent me a private message saying that her analytics showed that the story was still getting views even after all these years, but no one ever bothered to leave reviews other than “update soon!!!”, so she never felt motivated enough to finish it. She said that me reviewing every single chapter with lengthy paragraphs made her cry and meant the world to her. She also mentioned that she felt encouraged to write the two remaining chapters needed to complete the story and that she would send me a message the night before she updates the fic.
I’m literally sobbing. I’m so excited :’)

domestic/relationship situation prompts that make my heart warm:
building a new piece of furniture from a flat pack together
baking a new recipe together
playing a competitive video game together (may i suggest mariokart)
painting their nails
bringing them their favourite hot drink in bed
reading to them late into the night
sleeping in and cuddling the entire morning
going clothes shopping and trying on outfits for an event they’ll be attending together
preparing/packing for and going on a picnic
doing laundry
making them tea/coffee (exactly how they like it)
saying goodbye over and over because they keep forgetting things and coming back
leaving notes for them around the home
repairing a broken appliance
changing the bedsheets
exercising together
deep cleaning the home
deciding what takeout to order
bingeing an entire season of a trashy reality show in one sitting together
reorganising the bookshelf
listening to them rant
running them a bath with their favourite products
covering them with a blanket when they’ve fallen asleep on the couch

Shadow saving you💕
I recently replayed Shadow's episode in Forces. I have to say Shadow wasn't as badly written as I thought. I don't think all of Forces was bad. Shadow seemed to genuinely care about Rouge and Omega. Here is just headcanons about being saved by Shadow.
*You were sent out with Omega for the recon mission that went badly.
*Infinite targeted you because of your relation to Shadow.
*He brainwashed you to hate Shadow.
*Rouge told Shadow about the mission.
*Shadow raced to meet at the rendezvous point with you and Omega.
*When Shadow heard Omega's malfunction he got worried for Omega and of course you.
*As Shadow raced closer so did his mind.
*He assumed the worse has happened. No, he would not let anything happen to you. He's the Ultimate Lifeform after all.
*When he did catch up to you and Omega he was shocked and than sadden that the both of you attacked him.
*Shadow also did not want to hurt you. Omega could be rebuilt, but he could kill you. After defeating Omega he had to deal with you.
*Shadow was angry that someone brainwashed you. He had to find a way for you to snap out of it.
*He would try to reason with you. Telling you that you are too strong for brainwashing. He would also tell you to remember all of the memories to two made together. He would tell you how much he loves you.
*That would snap you back into reality because Shadow rarely says that out loud.
*When you came back, Shadow would hold you for a few moments and take your presents. He would whisper how he will never let anything happen to you again.
*When he lets you go, you thank him. But he goes back to his normal demeanor. He says, "Of course I am the Ultimate Lifeform"

I FRIGGIN KNEW IT!
At first I just thought they were part of the character design. Then I watched the cutscenes for the "Shadow the Hedgehog" game, there he takes them off and I was like 'oh their power limiters'. But I didn't know for sure until now.
Now I would like to start a petition, we need to see more of Shadow fighting without his limiters. I want anime level insane battles. I want to see him destroy a city block in one swift move. Please. I need it.

Shadow x reader jealousy hcs?
A/n: yeah! Sure I can! Thank you for requesting! Shadow’s one of my favourite sonic characters due to all the depth they have and all the lore, so I got really excited to write this one and possibly delve slightly into shadow’s psychology a bit when I saw it in my inbox! Also, don’t mind me playing around with post layout, just trying to find something that sticks, y’know? Also, I wasn’t sure if you specifically wanted the reader and shadow to be dating or not so I wrote it as they are, lmk if you wanted something different! I’m not confident in my ability to write jealousy though, so this may not be that great— I hope you enjoy it regardless, though!

-Shadow… doesn’t want to admit these feelings of jealousy. It makes him feel inferior.
-When you’ve been hailed and called the ultimate life form for as long as you can remember, well, I figure feeling like you may not be so ultimate would weigh on you.
-He’s admittedly, at first, not sure what the feelings he’s experiencing are.
-Eventually, when he figures it out, he’s confused. Jealousy? Why? He’s the ultimate life form, why would he be…?
-He feels. More vulnerable than he would like, honestly.
-He trusts you immensely. (If he didn’t, he probably wouldn’t be. Dating you.) Logically he knows you wouldn’t betray or abandon him, but… after all he’s experienced in his life, the fear still lives quietly inside him. The fear that he’ll open his heart to someone fully once again, then he’ll lose them, or they’ll betray him, or leave completely and replace him- he’ll never voice it, though.
-…He pushes it down, though.
-There were people that saw him as a monster. What if you saw him as a monster and replaced him with someone “better”?
-When you get back to him, he’ll be a bit… touchier than normal. He’ll be quicker to hold your hand, might rest his head on your shoulder if you’re sitting.
-“…Shadow? Are you okay?”
-He responds with a noise.
-I feel like if anyone tried to talk to you while he was like this he might just. Pick you up and leave, or, if they’re persistent, might tell them to leave, his aggression in his words depending on who it is and how persistent they were
-He just kind of wants to be alone with you. He wants your attention right now.
-He’ll also be a bit broody the rest of the day.
-God forbid sonic want anything from you shadow would be so snappy at him-
-If this were a scenario where you were being hit on by someone though……
-Shadow would be *very* quick to grab your hand, or put an arm around your shoulders and pull you into him.
-“Not interested, leave.”
-He’s staring the person down in a very intense manner. His eyes boring right into theirs.
-…if the person keeps going though-
-He’ll likely grit his teeth out of frustration, and you’ll feel his hand tighten around yours.
-Yes, he is absolutely down to fight this person if their vibes are off or they just refuse to take a hint.
-“Not. Interested.”
-He’s… sort of like a calm angry. The type you really shouldn’t mess with.
-I… think you may need to stop him, because he might legitimately fight this person if they don’t stop.
-After this goes down, whether he fought the person or not, he’ll just want to go home and spend the rest of the day with you.
-just… a lot’s happened in his life, and… some of that still effects him and his actions.
-…He’s almost like a guard dog or something when it comes to your safety, though at the moment… maybe it’s best not to speak that comparison aloud for now.
