I don’t post here very often (though I do lurk occasionally, as the medblrs/studyblrs I follow are thought-provoking and insightful). Looking at my blog’s subheading I thought I should update that I have been accepted into medical school! I still have another interview to go, at med school that is higher on my preferences, but hey! I got in! MD Class of 2023.

Night shift again.
I got 2 hours of sleep before I needed to take my car in for a service, and then haven’t slept since. Probably won’t sleep again before the next shift. Cool cool. Time for embroidery and/or Pokemon Let’s Go while I could down the hours until the next shift

As an Aussie I can attest that yes, this is real. It’s sometimes sung after the usual Happy Birthday song. I have no idea of its origins though.
i’m watching a british youtuber’s birthday stream and an aussie viewer sent in a comment saying “why was he born so beautiful, why was he born at all? because he had no say in it, no say in it at all” which was received with confused existential horror, and this is how i just discovered that australian happy birthday songs are not universal

I was all set to start GAMSAT prep once results were out but now... I don’t need to? I have... *gasp* free time? I didn’t dare to dream, haha.
I’ve already started with the whole ‘get-fit-and-lose-weight’ thing that I come back to every year or two, so I guess I’m going to double down on that. I’m well stocked to start my first embroidery project after years of cross stitch. I have a few video games I’ve been neglecting due to lack of time. And... I guess I’ll start reading again? Over the last year I’ve been listening to mainly audiobooks because I have so much time to kill on my commute. I might be able to read the physical books I’ve been hoarding but not reading.
I guess I’ll just try to enjoy it, since I’m signing up for years of decreased free time.
