The vampire had indeed been trying to bite her, or at least had been giving it his best--or rather worst shot, considering the agonizing look of pain that left him reeling back in an attempt to ease the throbbing in his head. His face morphed back into what appeared more human, though the pain was still slightly visible in his eyes. None of this prevented to look of offense he shot her, as if this entire ordeal was her fault for not being more cooperative prey.

"Not like I bloody can, seein' as I still have this beedin' chip lodged in my head, " he cursed. "And yeah, slayer and all, so wrong place to get sympathy. Never mind a bloke's bloody starving. Blood packs are only good in a bind, you know, though if you heat 'em up a bit and close your eyes, they almost pass for the real thing."

Course he wasn't one to self reflect, or even admit--for that matter--that he was in the wrong. Instead, he flopped down in one of the big leather armchairs, and leaned over the side to get a better look at the other man.

"Come on glasses, name one bleedin' time I've ever led you down the wrong path," he paused for a moment to gauge the other's reaction, and then thought better of it, holding up a hand to ward off any argument that might arise. "Okay, well 'cept for that one time. But no hard feelins' mate. There was quite a bit of money I was promised on that one. Couldn't exactly let that go. Was runnin' low on cigarettes that month."

Blasted woman was forever thinkin' he was up to something (granted, most of the time he definitely was) though it was bleedin' inconvenient on the off days when he was genuinely offering to help. Well genuine wasn't exactly the right word for it either, but he he had his reasons for wanting this to go in his favor.

"Fine, I'll be leavin' then. Not like I wanted to spend the whole day with you and your lot anyway." He turned halfway as if to take off, but then changed his mind at the last minute. "You're gonna regret not hearin' me out."

Spike had known he wasn't alone, since he could hear the light rustling of footsteps along the grass moments before he saw the woman appear. And yet, he was still a bit curious as he gave this newcomer a cursory glance. It wasn't quite the norm to have someone seek him out in the middle of the night--though the insult that followed wasn't quite off the mark for those that did. Still, he couldn't recall ever seeing this particular woman before, not that that meant anything, considering the vampire didn't exactly care to remember most humans he happened to come across.

"Right you are, love." He turned toward her fully, deciding he might as well have a bit of fun. "Bit more than you can handle I'd imagine."
