You’re a witch with a penchant to bargain for firstborn children… to adopt and train as apprentices. You’ve done it hundreds of times now, and considering how wretched the biological parents tend to be you’re really doing the kids a favor.

People will go to the funeral of a family member they met once in their life but won’t go to the funeral of someone they see every week like a bus driver or your landlord.

a (somewhat simple) list of tips & tricks that helped me achieve a little more confidence as a twenty something year old struggling with adhd:
the things people do and say to us or about us rarely reflect who we are. it doesn’t make them any less hurtful, i know! but remember that whenever someone lashes out at you or someone else, that’s a reflection of how they feel. you don’t need to take it to heart every time.
have a collection of things that are yours, and yours only. like a favorite movie or a comfort song you share with no one else. give yourself the gift of exploring who you are fearlessly, whether that means liking a piece of mainstream media or that obscure indie artist no one talks about.
whether someone does or doesn’t like you, it’s okay. i promise. really. you’ll be okay. and honestly.. i’d rather be disliked than be loved by the wrong people. it saves you a lot of pain.
try things. be really bad at something! be really good at something! when babies are learning to talk, they’ll babble on endlessly until they get it right. they don’t care! and neither should you. all that matters is that you give yourself a chance.
everyone is 3, and 13 and 23 years old on the inside. you still have a little kid inside you. you’re responsible for talking nicely to that little kid, remember that. if you went back in time to meet your toddler self, you probably wouldn’t say half of the things you say to you now, would you?
ditch needless rules. who said you can’t watch your favorite 70s cartoon? who said you’re not allowed to enjoy something everyone labels as cringe? listen, friend, life is really short and i promise you that everyone’s got something “embarrassing” about themselves. it’s fine, it’s all good!
healing (and all that jazz) is a journey. you won’t always feel confident or act from a place of confidence. a lot of times, you might still feel insecure and terrified of everything. but here’s a secret: no one else knows what they’re doing, either.
