yo I finished season 3 of Motherland Fort Salem yesterday after not watching for 2 years and like ???? what happened here

i remember loving this show so much back when I was watching as the episodes aired. the world was so interesting and the storylines and acting were great. now I came back to watch and I could barely get through it.

the writing feels so unnatural and everything is somehow exposition. the blocking in the scenes feels so clunky. Scylla is reduced to just being Raelle's girlfriend. Khalida and Alder are just deus ex machina-ing their way through the plot?

they're fugitives and presumed terrorists but they somehow manage to get new pristine clothes multiple times per episode. when they're turning themselves in Adil is wearing a brand new fjallraven jacket, like a £200+ jacket for an outlaw living in the supposed impoverished Cession? and don't even get me started on Alder's faux leather outfit and weird hoodie for the German mountains, I could barely get through the scene.

also the make up. what happened to the make up. why is everyone wearing full glam face with fake eyelashes. when did this happen.

mfswhat happened? was there a big change in how the production was handled? was the show like this all along? have I just started analysing tv shows more these past two years? I genuinely had and still have so much love for this show, but man that third season was strange. has anyone felt the same?
