captain-steve-rogers·:
Thor’s booming laughter made Steve’s smile grow wider. It was good to see him again. It had been far too long, years really, though he’d been kept so busy with other things that he hadn’t had much time to reflect on that. He winced at the other’s wish but it didn’t affect his smile much. “Please don’t wish for that. An alien invasion is the last thing I need on top of anything else.” Steve spoke like he was joking but there was an element of truth to it. Sure, he’d been ready to jump into action and deal with an alien invasion but that didn’t mean he wanted to. The bone crushing hug was familiar and Steve returned it with a slight chuckle, weathering the slap that likely would’ve staggered anyone who wasn’t a supersoldier. “It’s good to see you, too. It’s been too long.” That was an understatement. Steve raised his eyebrows slightly at the phone. “Or a text, even. I’ll have to give you my number, later.” He sobered a little, since Thor had mentioned the tower. “Sorry about the tower. A lot has happened.” Which was another understatement but he was sure they’d get to all that.
Steve let out a breath when Thor asked what exactly had happened. That was a doozy of a question. “I think that’s the kind of conversation we should be sitting down for. There’s a lot to go over.” He’d noted the weapon before but now looked a little more closely at the large axe. “Didn’t you used to have a hammer?”
Tumblr media
“Oh, yes, I did. It was destroyed by my evil sister,” he replied, as if that explained everything. He glanced around the square, noticing that the pair was beginning to attract rather a lot of attention from the curious citizens. He guessed his dramatic entrance didn’t help all that much, but Thor was never one to be inconspicuous. “If we must sit, perhaps you could take us to a suitable place. I’m sure you know this area well by now.” In truth, Thor wasn’t sure for how long Steve had been in Sokovia. He guessed at least a few months, judging from what he could gather from politically biased newspaper articles, but he expected it to come up in conversation soon enough so didn’t push the question. “I always thought you would come back here if the Avengers weren’t stationed in New York,” he stated, his voice laced with a hint of remorse. “We’ve unfinished business in these lands: I knew you couldn’t let it go so easily.”

It was impossible to not smile at the sight of Thor standing there with a fuck-off-big axe in his hand, looking every bit as mythological as his name. Clint had thought that he’d gotten fairly desensitized to that kind of thing, what with Wonder Woman and her sidekick and their whole Greek gods thing, but Thor was something all his own. Something better, really. It was probably weird that Clint thought that the kind-of-alien, kind-of-god from a different dimension was more palatable than regular home-grown demigod, but then again, Clint had always been a little bit weird.
“Now you’re just trying to offend me,” he faux-grumbled, not attempting to smother his smile. “Puny human, remember? That’s why I keep you around, so that you can go around swinging that axe while I stick with my little bow and arrow.” He grinned and nodded for them to start on their way into the woods. The animals had been quiet for months, but things were looking up; the air was crisp and the world was slowly starting to bloom all over. “Do I want to know how you ended up with a battle-axe as big as my torso? I’ll leave the jokes about compensating for something to Tony, god knows he’s dying to tease someone. The Justice League folks don’t have much of a sense of humor.”
“Ah, you’ve clearly become more self-aware since we last saw each other. I didn’t want to be the one to break the news to you but I’m very glad you figured it out by yourself.” Thor appreciated the banter. Some of the people he had met on Earth had a tendency to take things... a bit more seriously. He couldn’t blame them: he had been similar when he first arrived about a decade ago. But thanks to people like Clint, he had learned to appreciate the fun side of life and was happy to just be himself.
As they set off into the trees, he smirked at Clint’s remark before pondering his query. “Well, it’s rather a long and rather complicated story...” he mused, wondering just how exactly he could make it make sense to a human. “In summary, it turns out I had a secret older sister who appeared out-of-the-blue when my father died, who destroyed my hammer and took control of Asgard until I managed to stop her by summoning Surtur, the fire demon who ended up destroying both her and Asgard during an apocalypse called Ragnarok. This axe, Stormbreaker, was forged at my request by the dwarfs in Nidavellir using energy channelled from the heart of a star.” He paused, feeling the weight of the axe in his hand. He still wasn’t quite used to it, but a lot of things had changed for the Asgardian in a very short space of time. All he could do was move on. “I thought it time I was due an upgrade anyway. Does that answer your question?”

arctazannataz·:
Zatanna had grown accustomed to strange ensembles after her years with the Justice League. The team was led by a man with a bat fetish, and she’d been whacked in the face by more than one pair of giant feathered wings . She, herself, couldn’t fathom a uniform that was anything less than bewitching. The red hoodie could use some work, but she could appreciate juxtaposition for the sake of a dramatic entrance. She bid farewell to the Langoš vendor she’d been chatting with thanks to a little bit of magic and a pair of dimples. “Someone seems to have forgotten the magic word,” Zatanna took a shot in the dark and spoke in English. She drummed her fingers on the counter and studied his axe for a moment as her lips curved into a small smirk, “Something tells me that you’re looking for a hoard of supercharged monkeys in spandex.”
Tumblr media
Thor regarded the stranger with suspicion. On the outside she looked perfectly normal, but he didn’t like the way she was looking at Stormbreaker and instinctively tightened his grip on the axe. Plus, despite his growing acclimatisation to Earth and its cultures, there were still plenty of phrases and references that don’t quite seem to make any sense to him.
“I don’t quite understand. I’m not looking for any monkeys, just my allies. They’re the Avengers. You’ve probably heard of them, they don’t exactly... blend in.”

She had been running errands in Matchak when she saw the sky rip open and a man descend from the Heavens down to Earth.
“The fuck?”
The entrance was rather… extra.
She sniffed the air… it smelled odd like… alien mixed with God type of odd.
She extended her claws on instinct and gazed at the God.
“You smell funny. Are you that God that I’ve heard about?” She asked as she looked at him.
“That was quite an entrance.” She added with a smirk.
Thor turned at the voice and looked down at the young woman. His eyes narrowed at the claws and his grip tightened on the axe. He thought it odd that someone who appeared human possessed claws like an animal, but he had lived long enough that nothing shocked him any more.
“To your kind I may appear to be a god but there are many so-called gods, you might want to be more specific.” The air crackled as he spoke and sparks danced on his fingertips. “I am Thor, and that entrance you saw was the Rainbow Bridge, a gateway between this realm and several others.” He glanced back at the still sizzling mark it had left on the ground, then back to the girl.
“Why don’t you put those claws away and tell me who you are.”

wondxrwoman·:
Often, Diana liked to be the one to greet their new recruits. She had been glad when Steve had contacted her to let her know that his former teammate had arrived; she didn’t know Thor well, having only met him in passing during the Chitauri invasion, but she had high hopes that they would get on. Everything she’d heard indicated they should. Steve only spoke highly of the man, and Diana always welcomed the opportunity to meet a like-minded warrior.
She was interested to see how much of the mortals’ myths regarding the god of thunder were true and how much were a fabrication. She guessed that, much like with the old gods whose blood pumped through her own veins, it would be somewhere in the middle.
The security team’s ping to her comm link let Diana know their guest had arrived; she arrived at the foot of the entryway’s staircase in time to hear him call out, her ears picking up his murmur before she could reply. It made a dry smile twist her lips. “Some days, neither am I, my friend,” Diana replied, letting her flight propel her down the stairs to a graceful landing in front of Thor. “Welcome to the Mousehole, son of Odin,” she greeted, inclining her head in respect. “Captain Rogers told me you would be coming; we are more than glad to have you. I am Diana.”
Tumblr media
Just the name Wonder Woman struck awe into the hearts of humans, aliens and everything in-between. The Asgardian stared at the Themysciran as she floated down towards him. She really was stunning, he thought, but pushed those thoughts aside as quickly as they arose and nodded courteously in return.
“I know who you are.” Thor knew she was one of the leaders here, but his tone made it clear that he only ever took orders by choice. “I had been told that you and your team would be here,” he said, sniffing slightly as he did so. Thor knew little of the Justice League, but as far as he was concerned they had their alliances and he had his own. He was loyal to his core; the thought of living in the Mousehole with many people who were basically strangers wasn’t exactly his greatest desire, but Steve had pleaded with him to at least try to make friends, so that was what he would do.
“So how does this work?” he inquired, gazing around at the open space. “The Avengers bicker enough amongst themselves without several other groups involved. Is the building separated into areas based on alliances? Is Stark locked away in the basement alone? If not, I suggest you get onto that immediately.”

Song
Loction: Stara Kafana
Tumblr media
The musty bar made for the perfect place to lay low and de-stress—if seedy Eastern European dive bars were your kind of thing.
Logan sat in the same corner booth that he had been in a few days prior when he had spotted Anne. It was the perfect spot as it allowed him to stay hidden from the door’s immediate view while catching the breeze everytime someone entered. He’d have their scent before they ever took their first step inside.
He sipped from a comically large glass boot filled with some imported beer as he pulled the brim of his hat down to give his eyes some shade from the secondhand, dingy, fluorescent bulbs overhead. The owners probably thought it added some personality and it sure did, but he was fairly confident annoying and desperate for attention wasn’t what they were aiming for.
But criticizing their interior design wasn’t why he was here. Stara Kafana had quickly become Logan’s favorite place in town. It had beer, it was colder than most buildings in the area, and it offered some distance from the candy stripers Anne and Laura had gotten friendly with. Anytime he’d seen a nomad wonder into the bar, they had been alone or in a small group and either of those were preferable to dealing with thirty of them under one roof— even if that roof was attached to a castle.
His eyes darted up as someone pushed their way past his booth, the pungent smell from their hands catching his attention, ”Little early for something that strong.”
The old Norse tales of gods and heroes were passed down through the generations much like a game of telephone, each re-telling bending the truth ever slightly until what remained was more fiction than fact. But one truth that stuck in the myth was Thor’s depiction as a mighty warrior with an equally mighty appetite. He was aware of the ever growing number of mouths the Mousehole had to feed and had, with very little persuasion needed, decided he’d try to find greater portion sizes elsewhere.
Unfortunately, he discovered that bar food was not exactly the same as pub grub. The owner was more than happy to keep the plates coming though; Thor was perhaps slightly unaware of the value his solid gold Asgardian coins held in this world. The language wasn’t an issue either, as the magic of the All-Speak allowed his request for ‘something I’ll regret in the morning’ to be clearly understood. Thor spotted a free table at the far end of the establishment. He gathered his tankard, pale liquid sloshing over the side, and a plate of fried mystery meat and headed towards it before the stranger’s comment caused him to halt.
“Strong?” he questioned. He couldn’t help chuckling at the statement despite its apparent seriousness. “Where I come from, we drank stronger stuff than this as children. We were told it builds sturdy bones and even tougher character.” He paused to take a gulp from his tankard. “My brother always gagged at it, could never hold it down. That probably explains why he’s so weaselly.”

When: Present-day. Where: The Mousehole; entryway. With: @the-odinson
The dawn was beginning its slow stretch over the landscape, scattered clouds beginning to glow a soft pink. It would have been a stunning sight, probably, if it wasn’t one Clint had gotten more than used to since he’d arrived in the Mousehole all those months ago. If a lifetime of being up at dawn to run SHIELD missions hadn’t already killed the charm of early mornings, trudging through the snow to shoot some squirrels in a foreign country would’ve done it.
There was no more snow, at least. That was nice. Unlike most of the Mousehole, Clint was susceptible to little things like hypothermia.
But for now: he waited at the entryway, hunting bag at his hip and bow slung over his shoulder, enjoying the dawn while he waited for a familiar pair of steps to join him. And when they did, he turned.
“I heard I might have some company this morning,” Clint remarked, a slow smile stretching across his face as he he addressed their very own god of thunder. The firm set of his shoulders eased up a bit, something that hadn’t happened often since they’d arrived in Sokovia. Clint didn’t exactly advertise it, hadn’t said it to anyone but Natasha, but Thor had always been his favorite of their non-assassin teammates. He was basically impossible to not like, after all. “This might be the first time it’s actually welcome. Hey, man.”
Thor had barely just started to settle in at the Mousehole, but he wasn’t the type to sit and do nothing. That behaviour was more common in the past when living as a prince of Asgard, but since the word responsibility had entered his vocabulary Thor always tried to help out where he could, and so he had agreed to assist in gathering food for the Nomads. It had been a long time since he’d experienced the rush of a hunt: he was looking forward to slaying a ferocious beast or two. Stepping out into the fresh morning with his mighty axe balanced on his shoulder and seeing his teammate again, he felt content.
“Good morning, my friend.” He patted Clint lightly on the shoulder as he passed (anything more than light would probably break a normal human’s bones), emerging into the early light and gazing up beyond the rose-coloured sky. Only a few days ago he had been out there, far beyond the pull of Earth’s gravity, fighting gods and demons, but the feeling of being grounded was a welcome one. Thor was looking forward to spending some simple leisure time with a good friend.
“Yes, I’ve heard many complaints of barren larders and empty stomachs,” he replied jovially, “so I’ve decided I’ll come along to make sure the job is done properly.” He turned and flashed Clint a cheeky grin, then gestured at the man’s bow. “Of course, the real problem is you’re never going to catch anything of worth with a little bow and arrow.” He hefted Stormbreaker off his shoulder and tossed it in his hand. “You need a real weapon, like this.”

@wondxrwoman Thor/Diana
Despite his size, Thor landed softly, leaves scattering below his feet as the Northern breeze carried him to the entrance of the Mousehole. His footsteps were not as gentle, however: the drawbridge shook as he strode across it but he wasn’t feeling thunderous today. Quite the opposite, actually, as he knew he had finally reached the destination where all his questions could be answered.
He paused as he reached the imposing door of the fortress. The Asgardian was no stranger to castles: he’d lived most of his life in one. He tended to stroll in without resistance but wondered if the humans had a different protocol. He had spent enough time on Earth now to understand how that could be considered rude or hostile; they were so unnecessarily obsessed with borders and boundaries, but after a moment Thor decided to stick with what he was used to.
The solid door creaked under his palm as he pushed it open. For a moment all he could see were dust particles swirling in the air as his eyes adjusted to an interior setting. “Hello?” he boomed, in case anyone was near. “I have come to offer my assistance in the fight,” he continued, but under his breath muttered, “although just what is being fought, I’m still not sure....”

captain-steve-rogers·:
Steve was in Matchak on refugee and aide business, as he usually was, but he’d just made a delivery and had actually just stopped at one of the food stalls for a bite to eat. He knew he wasn’t eating enough and that didn’t help with how little sleep he’d been getting. He knew his friends would approve of him stopping and eating so he was in the middle of ordering a few things in his now quite passable Sokovian when the boom of thunder rang out and cut Steve off mid sentence. His eyes immediately flew up and he tensed when he saw the sky ripping open, needing no more sign than that to step away from the stall and tap the comm that was pretty much always in his ear.  “Oracle, I’ve got a probable alien invasion incoming above the Square of Eagles. Numbers unknown but send anyone who’s available immediately. I’ll start evacuation efforts and do what I can here. And if someone could grab my shield on their way that would be-” It annoyed him that he didn’t have the shield but he would use whatever he could, his mind already racing with how he was going to both clear the area of civilians as quickly as possible and hold back whatever the oncoming horde was. Except it wasn’t a horde it was just one person and someone Steve recognized at that. Again, he stopped mid-sentence and switched gears. “-actually, forget everything I just said. It’s Thor.”
He started smiling, even as the adrenaline was still pumping through him, not least of which because of Oracle’s laughter in his ear. “Damn, Cap, you got me excited for a second there.” He apologized and switched the comms off again, making his way towards Thor who hadn’t noticed him yet, obviously. He overheard the demand for a phone and chuckled.
“You’re lucky you’re so recognizable. I nearly thought you were an alien invasion and called in the cavalry.” He had in fact made the call but Thor didn’t necessarily need to know that so he joked about it instead.
Tumblr media
Thor wasn’t sure if the device he had just been given was new or if it belonged to the owner of the stall, but the large chunk of gold had disappeared so he supposed it didn’t really matter. He was about to offer his thanks when a familiar voice made him turn around. Upon seeing Steve he broke out into a wide grin.
“Captain!” he laughed, sheathing Stormbreaker into a hurriedly-made sling on his back. Despite the situation, seeing his old teammate felt... normal. It was a simple but comfortable feeling, sort of like putting your feet up after a long day. Thor approached him, palms open. “I almost wish there was an invasion of aliens so we may battle them together, like old times.” He embraced Steve fondly, then pulled away and laughed again, giving the man a hearty slap on the shoulder. “It’s good to see you, friend. I admit, I was worried when I found our tower deserted. It has taken me a while to find you, which I why I thought I could finally do with one of these.” He held up the mobile phone and wiggled it in the air for a second before slipping it into a hoodie pocket. "Now if we ever need to find each other I can send you an e-mail."
He looked away from Steve to properly scan his surroundings, his expression falling grim. Sokovia looked a lot better than it did when he had left it all those years ago: still, very different from New York. There were a lot of questions playing on Thor’s lips. He had to bite his tongue to stop them all falling out at once. “It seems we have much to talk about. What exactly has happened since I’ve been away?”

OPEN STARTER
Matchak. The Square of Eagles. It was a day like any other: the sky was grey, but that didn’t stop the locals from going about their business. Street merchants called out to passers-by with special offers ‘just for you’ while the sweet melodies of an acoustic guitar bounced playfully off the enclosing walls. The buzz of conversation filled the air as did the aroma of many family recipes sizzling up from the various food carts below. This was life in Sokovia at its finest, and why wouldn’t it be? After all, it was just a day like any other.
A clap of thunder cracked the atmosphere like a whip. High above the square, the clouds darkened and began to swirl. As if under a great pressure, the sky began to dip before the heavens split open, but it wasn’t rain that began to fall: it was light. Brilliant, pure light glowing in every colour of the rainbow cascading down to Earth, smashing into the paving stones with a force that shook the ground. In the shining downpour stood a silhouette wielding what looked like a massive axe. Then, almost as quickly as it had begun, the light dispersed, leaving only a searing runic symbol in the ground, and a man.
Thor wondered if there was a setting on Stormbreaker he could toggle to stop the Rainbow Bridge from burning up the earth it touched. It really was inconvenient having to apologise for the amount of property damage he had caused that way so far. With the axe in hand but dressed in a simple red hoodie and jeans, the Asgardian approached the nearest stall, ignoring the shocked stares of the Sokovian public. He made a note of that. Shocked, not scared. Perhaps they’re used to unusual happenings around here. So maybe this is the right place. With his free hand he placed a huge gold coin on the wooden counter. He gave the merchant a smile and when he spoke, the magic of the Allspeak broke down any language barrier and allowed his words to be understood:
“I need a phone.”

Thor 🗲 Intro
Tumblr media
“Fortunately, I am mighty...”
OOC PORTION —
NAME: Danny
PRONOUNS: he/him
AGE: 23
TIMEZONE: GMT +1
TRIGGERS: None
IC PORTION; BASICS —
CHARACTER NAME: Thor Odinson
FACECLAIM: Chris Hemsworth
AFFILIATIONS: The Avengers
AGE: 1500s/appears mid 30s
SPECIES: Alien (Asgardian)
IDENTITY: Public
DOES YOUR CHARACTER LIVE IN THE MOUSEHOLE? IF SO, WHAT ARE THEIR DUTIES? Yes, but he doesn’t particularly like it there. He doesn’t feel the effects of the cold, but Thor has never liked being confined so prefers to get outside as much as possible. Thor has decided to take on the role of a hunter/gatherer. The vast forests of Europe aren’t too dissimilar to the Asgardian wilderness and, while the beasts aren’t as ferocious as back home, what’s a king to do if not revel in the hunt? When needed he will also help with aid work: he can cover great distances with ease and carrying heavy loads is hardly a problem for him.
DESCRIBE SIX TRAITS (3 positive, 3 negative) YOUR CHARACTER HAS AND HOW THESE AFFECT THEM:
Dependable: A man of his word, Thor is trustworthy and reliable; an asset in any team and to anyone who has a favour to ask. Endearing: Those who truly get to know Thor speak of him with admiration; his warm smile and welcoming personality don’t come to all, but if he lets his guard down you’re guaranteed a friend with whom you feel truly comfortable. Benevolent: Thor (usually) means well and (usually) tries to be kind to anyone he encounters. His exterior may come across as brash but there’s no malice involved, often just a difference in culture and upbringing. Obstinate: While being headstrong may not always be a negative thing, Thor hates to admit he’s wrong and has a tendency to steamroll down a chosen path rarely reassessing whether the choices he made were the right ones or simply the first ones. Distrusting: Thor enjoys being social but mainly around those he’s close to. He can appear a little hostile to strangers: while he wants to believe in the good in people, he’s been around long enough and seen a lot of the universe to know of the potential darkness inside them too. Reckless: Thor often acts on impulse and charges into situations unprepared. This can lead to serious damage caused to both himself and those around him.
POWERS AND/OR ABILITIES: Super strength: Son of Odin and King of Asgard, Thor is physically the strongest of all Asgardians, with feats including being able to go one-on-one with the Hulk and other powerful entities. Flight: Thor’s magical axe Stormbreaker grants him the ability to fly. Electricity Manipulation: Thor is capable of generating electrical energy within his body and can expel it in the form of lightning bolts. Using Stormbreaker makes the energy generation and expulsion much more powerful and efficient. Weather Control: Similarly, either with or without Stormbreaker (although with Stormbreaker is easier), Thor can control the sky and create storms. Durability: His Asgardian physiology grants much more durability than a human one, able to shrug off energy blasts and recover from injury much quicker. Thor can also survive in space and alien atmospheres. Allspeak: Also called the All-Tongue, Asgardians speak a magic-based language, granting the ability to understand and be understood in all the languages of the Nine Realms. Bifrost: Stormbreaker also gifts Thor the power to summon the Bifrost, the Rainbow Bridge connecting all realms, allowing intergalactic travel between worlds in a matter of moments.
WEAKNESSES: There aren’t many things on Earth that could pose a threat to Thor, so it’s hard to pinpoint any specific weaknesses. Perhaps for someone like Thor, the word god comes up so often that he sometimes forgets it’s not true: he is mortal and, while far more durable than a human, he can get injured and he can get killed, a fact that he often brushes to the side when charging into battle. However he has become far more self-aware after losing an eye (and almost his life) to Hela.
IC PORTION; DETAILS —
WHAT BROUGHT YOUR CHARACTER TO SOKOVIA?
Sokovia is where the majority of Thor’s allies are, and he needs their help. His world gone, his people stranded on the nearest hospitable realm in need of a home; Thor knew of a place where the Asgardians could blend in and live peaceful lives. The problem is, however, it seems Earth is not quite at peace right now. When he couldn’t track down the Avengers in New York, he followed the trail to Novi Grad. His priorities are conflicting: while he came back to Earth to ask the Avengers’ help in establishing a new Asgard on this planet, he feels he should stay to try and help his friends however he can in aiding the Nomad’s cause.
DID THEY SIGN THE ACCORDS? WHY OR WHY NOT?
No - the whole Accords situation is mostly unbeknownst to Thor due to being offworld at the time of signing. From what he can gather, it isn’t something that would appeal to him. He feels the affairs of humans are mostly petty ones and, despite his growing acclimatisation to Earth and its customs, he doesn’t understand why humans have to be so divided about, well, pretty much everything.
PROVIDE 3-5 HEADCANONS RELATED TO YOUR CHARACTER: 1. Although Thor is an alien, he has spent enough time on this planet (in both modern and ancient times) for the culture shock to lessen so that now Earth to Thor is more comparable to a human travelling to a different country - he acknowledges that the differences are neither better nor worse and he chooses to respect them. He knows he will make mistakes and appear strange, but sees that now as an opportunity for personal growth. 2. One thing he doubts he will ever understand however, is the human version of ‘entertainment’. Thor cannot stand movies. On Asgard, they would entertain themselves by slaying fearsome monsters or engaging in a friendly drunken brawl, the more broken furniture the better! But on Earth they amuse themselves by… sitting down and staring at a screen for hours on end. While both Asgard and Earth had/have magnificent technology, it’s clear they used it very differently.
3. Since returning to Earth, Thor has become intrigued in the Norse tales of himself and his people from over a thousand years ago and their alleged feats. He finds it highly amusing how inaccurate the stories are, but it has led to a fascination of human mythology and the various pantheons across history and the world. He wonders if he will ever meet any other of these so-called gods.
4. While a human brain only has capacity for almost a century’s worth of memories, an Asgardian brain is built for a few millennia’s worth. Therefore Thor has a much more acute long-term memory than his human companions, although occasionally his short-term memory leaves something to be desired, especially after several pints of mead.
WANTED CHARACTER CONNECTIONS:
Loki: His brother and the person he loves (and hates) most in the cosmos. I know a thing or two about brotherly love (I’ve been experiencing it for 23 years) so would love to write for Thor with his undeniably most personal connection. Wonder Woman: Both ancient, both ‘gods’ and both so very far from home. Despite their different allegiances I think it would be great to have Thor bond with perhaps the one person around here who may truly understand him. Superman: If anything they both have fabulous red capes. They are quite similar power-wise, although I know Superman is stronger but Thor definitely wouldn’t want to admit that. It could lead to some healthy (or unhealthy?) competition between the two, especially seeing as Thor isn’t too fond of the Justice League. Captain America & Iron Man: The two splintered team leaders. Thor respects them both (Tony a little less, perhaps…) and, since he doesn’t really understand the extent of the accords, would like to hear their sides of the story and what has happened since the Ultron incident. Bruce Banner: Thor has fought with the Hulk a couple of times but feels this has brought the two closer, learning more about how Bruce ticks and now he feels there’s a protective bond between the pair. I think the interactions they have could bring out the comedic style of writing which I love!
POTENTIAL CHARACTER ARCS: In the previous paragraph I said I like writing comedic characters (of which Thor fits the bill) but I also want to explore the deeper aspects of his personality such as the emotional pain of losing his parents, his childhood friends and his home. This could manifest in him not wanting to form bonds with others in the Mousehole at first because he’s lost so many people: why would he want to get close with anyone else only to lose them again? Perhaps a dramatic fallout with someone from a different team could lead to serious consequences for him or the team as a whole.
The reason I chose for placing Thor in Sokovia is that he’s seeking a location for New Asgard: maybe with all its emigrating population and empty buildings Sokovia could be the perfect location… I’m not sure how it would work in the group, but maybe Thor could eventually bring the Asgardians here, both to settle and to help with the restoration of the country.
CHARACTER BIO —
You know the story. An Asgardian prince, lacking in humility and exiled to Earth in order to learn what it means to be worthy. A classic tale, but at its heart, a tale of loss, and a tale of what it means to truly be human: even if you’re not. Thor has lived for well over a millenia, but only in the last decade has his life really begun. From landing on Earth a long time after people stopped worshipping him, he slowly began to understand the importance of relationships; from forming close bonds with the Avengers (and wary acquaintances with the Justice League and X-Men), to experiencing true love for the very first time. All his life Thor had assumed that humans were lesser beings, so why then did he feel he was learning so much more from them than he had ever learned from his own kind?
After experiencing the death of his mother, then later on his father and three close childhood friends, Thor was at breaking point when his home realm of Asgard was obliterated during Ragnarök by the fire demon Surtur. With the title of King thrust upon him, Thor decided his duty to his people had to consume him before his emotions did. Pursuing the quest of a new home, he led them to Nidavellir, the homeworld of the dwarfs; unsurpassable smiths and mechanics with the power to forge almost anything the mind can dream of, ruled over by their King, Eitri. Eons ago, Eitri had forged the legendary hammer Mjölnir (destroyed by Hela) at Odin’s request, now he oversaw the creation of the glorious axe Stormbreaker when asked by Thor, capable of summoning the rainbow bridge despite its apparent destruction on Asgard. Armed with his new tool and a promise to the Asgardians of a brighter future, Thor set out alone across the stars, heading to Midgard to find his old allies the Avengers. He’d helped the humans many times before, hopefully they’ll be able to help him and his race this time.
It took Thor losing everything to appreciate what he has. As he enters the next phase of his life in Sokovia, without family or a home, he is truly the definition of a nomad.
