I keep seeing arguments for Astarion's higher INT vs lower CHA are reflective of him whereas I believe his higher INT is purely gameplay-story segregation. I mean, just look at what 200 years has done to this man's problem solving skills. If he can't fuck it or stab it he's stumped.

Overthinking about those lines from Astarion I had recently:
"No one ever looked out for me. No one ever said a kind thing to me. You're the only one. Other people don't have a heart like you. You're... you. No one is like that."
I can't believe that in two hundred years of existence he never met someone kind. Now hear me out. I don't think he's lying either. He genuiely believes it.
Since he must have divided his time between being Cazador's plaything in his castle, and looking for preys to bring back in sketchy places at night, obviously the opportunities to meet a good person must have been few and far between. However I doubt they must have been zero. He must have met good people. But they were so rare, so fleeting, those meetings must have felt to Astarion like dying sparks in the endless pit of blackness he was stuck in. Barely noticeable. Barely making a dent in the mountain of his pain.
