Every now and and then I think about how sad it is that Solomon doesn't have a single nice thing to say about/to Sebastian in the entire game.
1. Starts an argument (in front a complete stranger, no less) and then blames Sebastian for Anne having an episode. Then, he kicks Sebastian out of the house, even after he apologises to Anne.
2. Mostly addresses Sebastian as 'boy' rather than his name, which seems impersonal and demeaning.
3. "I apologise for my nephew, he doesn't know when to stop." (Maybe take some accountability for your own behaviour in there too, my guy.)
4. "Your faith in Sebastian is misplaced." (Putting your nephew's abilities down much?)
5. Seb: "Why won't he listen to me..." / Sol: "I know what's best..." (Authoritarian parenting).
5. Seb: "He keeps calling me 'my father's son' - as if that's an insult." (Constantly comparing him negatively to his dead father whom he idolises and watched die at a young age...Nice.)
6. *Sebastian saves Anne's life, albeit using a very questionable method* - chews him out and immediately disowns him. (No nuanced approach to the situation whatsoever. He even puts a lock on the door to the house.)
7. Was going to leave Feldcroft with Anne without telling Sebastian at all, potentially leaving him homeless at 16. Solomon didn't have a second thought about isolating Sebastian from his only remaining family - the most important thing to him in the world.

Look, I get it, he wants Sebastian to accept reality and to keep everyone safe (including Sebastian, from himself), but Sebastian has his own trauma, and Solomon absolutely fails to handle it and makes everything worse.
His redeeming feature is giving Ominis a home away from his crazy family during the holidays.

A nice detail about the game is after you visit the Scriptorium and get Salazar Slytherin’s book, you’ll notice once-blank chalkboards slowly fill up with Sebastian’s research in the Undercroft.
You can see him desperately looking for a cure and angrily drawing X’s, scribbling everything he can, and erasing some parts. You can even see the symbol of Ancient Magic.
He writes in Ancient Greek, Phoenician, Aramaic (a more relaxed/casual sister language of Hebrew spoken in Israel and Syria), Cyrillic and other languages I can’t make out. As well as Alchemy symbols (a “secret” subject reserved for older students.) You can tell both of his parents were professors.
He also seems to have an interest in Astronomy (this might be where Sebastian and Amit being friends comes in handy), as well as Geometry and other esoteric things. You’d think he was a Ravenclaw looking at it.
Fittingly, Sebastian’s name is also Ancient Greek in origin. (Sebastian comes from the Greek name Σεβαστιανός / Sebastianos.) His uncle Solomon’s name is Aramaic and Ancient Greek in origin as well. (Solomon’s name stands for “Peace” = shalom, which is probably meant to be ironic in his case. Or it could stand for Sebastian literally destroying the peace between himself and Anne.)
In fact, the spell “avada kedavra” is a different spelling of the Aramaic saying “avra kehdabra.” (Where the term ‘abracadabra’ comes from.) It’s fitting that Sebastian was the one to cast it, considering he speaks it and it could possibly tie into his family’s cultural background.
Anyways we stan a smart and multilingual king. 😂

I realise "Sebastian becoming an auror" is a very popular headcanon and that it's one of like... three career paths you can have in that universe along with "Hogwarts teacher" and "shop owner", but I find it so hard to believe Sebastian would be able to hold a government job.
That boy is a delinquent, he's rule-breaker, he has no regard for authority. If the curriculum says a spell is too dangerous, he's just going to learn and practice it himself, he don't care.
And while I get the appeal of him hunting down dark wizards because of his own experience with dark arts, it almost suits him more to do it as a freelance thing, or something. On his own terms.

Headcanon that Sebastian Sallow does not actually have a way with the faculty.
Is Sebastian charming? Undoubtedly.
Do the professors let him get away with things? Yes.
Is it because he manipulates or charms them? Absolutely not.
These professors have known Sebastian since he was eleven years old, and they watched him start school with his twin. They entered Hogwarts already orphaned and living with Solomon Sallow - an ex-Auror with (let's be perfectly honest) a known temper and some serious issues. It's not an ideal situation.
They watch him and Anne thrive despite their unfortunate circumstances, both strong and brilliant students who took after their parents. They're a joy to have around because of their desire to learn and their innate talents, despite all the mischief.
Then Anne is taken down by Rookwood's curse, and everything just goes to shit. Sebastian comes back to school, having lost focus in his desperation while they try to cure her. He's not smiling and laughing anymore - he's spiraling.
They know he's not getting any kind of support at home, and he'd never ask for it either. So they let him just... do what he needs to do that first year.
Then fifth year comes along, and they have obviously heard the news that none of the healers can cure Anne- Nurse Blainey, herself, being one of the people they reached out to. Sebastian has likely voiced his concerns and frustrations to Blainey personally, as well as any of the professors who might have an idea (asking Sharp about Auror techniques and potions for curing curses, or perhaps Hecat saw something similar as an Unspeakable?)
He's a bright boy - even Scribner stressed this fact, desperately trying to keep him out of trouble and blame it on another student instead, but knowing he needs to be reigned in if he continues.
But they still indulge him - turn a blind eye to his not-so-innocent questions about Dark Arts, let him skip class to hide away in the Library, and even try to get him out with new friends and away from all his brooding. Professor Weasley ensures Sebastian takes the new student out for a fun day at Hogsmeade rather than be punished for more blatant rulebreaking.
He absolutely is not pulling the strings here - the Hogwarts professors see a pitiable boy who's trying his best despite everything going wrong, and they simply don't want to pile anything more onto his shoulders.
I like to think they meet on Friday evenings at the Hogshead, and Sebastian comes up in conversation a lot.
"I caught Sallow with another stolen book from the Library. Almost made good on my threat of detention, but he was actually smiling today and I didn't have the heart."
He doesn't have a way with the faculty. The faculty has simply rallied around to protect their baby boy.

I like that Sebastian never actually pressures you to learn the unforgivables. The furthest he goes is to say he thinks we "should" know it (imperio), because it could save our life. But if you choose not to learn it, he assures you he "shan't press you" and "will have your back" no matter what.

The way...
Sebastian Sallow kisses your hand in greeting, and goodbye, and to calm you down, and to get you flustered- you know what.. Sebastian just loves the different reactions you give him when he kisses your hand, all different and special in their own ways.
Sebastian winks at you after getting a particularly good hit on his opponent in the Crossed Wands club or Defense Against the Dark Arts. And after he wins (cause we know he will), he'll run straight to you, ready to hear how proud you are of him.
Seb would read to you, let your head rest on his chest or in his lap. His hand carding through your hair. Every once in a while, he would look at your peaceful face. Thankful that you get the chance to relax from all of this ancient magic and whatnot. And even more thankful he is able to be the one to help you relax.
Sebby would sit in silence, intently listen to you while you rave on about whatever interests you. Whether or not he has an interest in it as well does not matter. He will listen to whatever you say with the most endearing look in his eyes. You have to make sure he's actually listening instead of just watching you the whole time.
