god, that scene in Wings of War when Hiccup and Astrid are up on the seastack and she’s telling him they might have to accept hurting the dragons, and he just looks at her, and I’ve had moments like that in every relationship I’ve ever been in and it just totally broke my heart.

I love how Hiccup doesn’t say anything to correct her. He doesn’t say anything about the rest of the riders being able to do so too. He’s like “Yeah…” lmao. You go, Hiccup.

Maybe he is the only one who can truly train dragons though. Maybe that’s where the whole “you have the heart of a chief and the soul of a dragon”- thing Valka says to him comes in.

Who knows.
