Thank you for Everything!
I should have been made this post some time ago, but you know how time passes... and it's not one that I've been eager to write.
We at the Arcane Circle would like to thank everyone who's followed us, joined us, or partnered with us in our years of running, as we close our doors as an RP FC.
Over our time, we've done so much... we started small but grew a lot! We've done a lot of fantastic storylines with our members, and been delighted to host server events and tournaments! We'll always remember those days and the fun that we had, and the choice was not made lightly.
We'll continue to exist, and our fc house will be available for those wanting to set rp there... we're not making any decisions on what to do with the FC house as of right now, but we will no longer be running or driving RP plots.
Again, thank you so much for all of your support, for all these years.

Do you have questions about being green with envy, thawing a cold heart, or sowing your proverbial seed? Let our counselors tend to the garden of your heart!
Clairemont and Lyehga will take your questions and lead a playful and practical discussion on romance, sex, and general relationship health. How do you cope if your partner snores? What do you do if he asks for the strap? Is it love, or a crush, and does it even matter? No question is too big or too small! Enjoy a full tea service and several bells of free advice!

❧ Location: The Goblet - Ward 9 - Plot 35 (North Subdivision!)
Open Clinic Night
Enclave staff will be on hand treat any and all walk-in medical cases and matters pertaining to personal wellness, as well as booking future appointments for more in depth exams, counseling, and spa treatments. We will also have staff available to discuss volunteer and employment opportunities to interested parties.
Our open kitchen will be serving supper for those in need of a hot meal and a moment’s respite from the desert’s heat or a long trek to reach us. The menu varies each moon, but our culinarians seek to satisfy a variety of dietary needs and preferences.
We are first and foremost a charitable organization; no one will ever be turned away based on an inability to pay. Donations of gil, supplies, or time are always welcome, but not required to receive treatment.
Open hours are for all. The clinic aims to help all Eorzeans, regardless of circumstance or affiliation, and serves as neutral ground for those on the premises. Weaponry is permitted, but those causing any sort of conflict or disruption will be asked to leave immediately.
Our staff will ask ‘what’ happened in order to provide the most accurate care possible, but will exercise discretion and refrain from prying into the ‘how’ and ‘why’ should it be so desired. Anonymity can be assured, if so required.

EBONGUARD IS RECRUITING!
Mark the shadows, and they will mark you.
The criminal underworld has always attracted colorful sorts, and in that regard, Ebonguard is no different from the rest. Its members marked by the telltale black linkpearls that they carry, the network has played host to a vast number of names over the years—the names of mob bosses, the names of murderers, the names of thieves. Peddlers of wares and peddlers of secrets have sought refuge in the network’s promise of anonymity.
But where the members are promised are promised an opportunity to remain faceless, the blackened linkpearls carry with them a name: the Ebonguard. And with that name comes a legacy.
EBONGUARD is a lore-compliant criminal network RP community centered around the concept of a criminal network that operates primarily via a wide-spanning network of linkpearls. While oriented primarily toward morally-ambiguous lawbreakers, the linkshell is open for any interested parties to join—after all, picking up the telltale black linkpearls is a simple enough task in and of itself…
AN OFFER YOU CAN’T REFUSE
❧ OOC COMMUNITY: Ebonguard prides itself on being oriented towards providing a comfortable and inclusive space. We have a zero-tolerance policy on bigotry towards or disrespect of others on the basis of race, gender identity, sexuality, et al. As well, we are full of players who not only enjoy roleplay, but enjoy playing FFXIV and discussing/exploring its lore and setting.
We also feature channels dedicated to lore discussions and help developing or fleshing out characters! We also have weekly character development prompts in our workshop channel.
❧ IC FRAMEWORK: Started in 2016 as an exclusively in-character group, Ebonguard comes with a rich IC framework for members to use however they wish in their IC interactions, ranging from the simple fact that the network exists IC as black linkpearls to in-depth background lore that establishes Ebonguard’s place in the FFXIV setting.
We also have IC structures such as the Job Board, The Cloak & Dagger, and the Legacies, which each come with their own flavor. We also have a special channel in our Discord dedicated to IC interactions via the linkshell, and our in-game CW LS can be utilized as an IC channel as well!
❧ RP STARTERS: We have monthly RP roulettes to match those who sign up according to one-line icebreakers/prompts to spur forging new connections and a job board full of RP prompts for people to use however they like and earn rewards according to a special reputation system!
This job board also features plot-related sidequests to allow members to contribute to large overarching Ebonguard plots in ways that they might not be able to otherwise. This also allows for players with schedule restrictions to participate even when a DM might not be able to accomodate them.
❧ A FLEXIBLE FORMAT: Because Ebonguard is not a Free Company, we do not and never will require players who are interested in joining us to leave their Free Companies. We are set up only via our Discord, in-game Cross-World Linkshell, and Fellowship. This format also allows us to welcome members from across the Crystal Datacenter, regardless of what their home world is!
A LEGACY OF SHADOWS
The Legacy System is a system of divisions based on the three main pillars of crime RP that Ebonguard caters to: Riches, Secrets, and Blood. Led IC and OOC by a special officer or coordinator dubbed a “Torchbearer,” the Legacies are a supplemental feature of Ebonguard intended to facilitate RP among members both in event-style settings and among themselves in freeform RP. Members of the Ebonguard are not required to join a Legacy, but we highly recommend checking it out! Legacies may feature their own exclusive events, RP/writing prompts, and more.
GUILTY BY ASSOCIATION
Although Ebonguard’s focus in terms of running internal events is ever on its members, our Discord is always open to those who want to make connections for their characters. The Associates rank is meant to provide an avenue for people who wish to make RP connections, but do not want the hassle of joining the Ebonguard proper.
As Associates are considered guests in the Discord, they are not expected to go through Ebonguard’s application process. In turn however, Associates’ participation in IC aspects of Ebonguard is limited and they do not have access to the CW LS. However, they still enjoy nearly full access to the Discord’s channels and can post LF RP, recruitment, and event ads.

"Our f-first exercise w-will be on restraint in power! And I wanted t-to make sure I emphasize the IMPORTANCE of e-each of these skills before we begin on this. Being able t-to hit something hard enough t-to take it out in one hit is undeniably valuable... incredibly so. But that kind of power isn't a-always useful. When y-you're facing a chimera, hitting hard is g-great! Or if you're up against a high-level voidsent, or h-have to bust t-through a heavy iron door! But... w-what if you're up against a-an animal t-that's rare, a-and killing one w-would be a disaster? Or if t-the voidsent h-has possessed a friend? Or t-that door is in a delicate tomb, and h-hitting too hard might collapse the ceiling? T-there's countless reasons t-to be sure y-you know how to hold back and s-still leave the impact y-you want... but knowing that it's important is t-the first step.”
