I have written similar lines, in my quiet moments. And my more lost ones.
That does not make a Startouch, though.

In the onyx fields of the sky, my brethren and I twinkle happily, little balls of light all over the universe. I look upon you with the deepest adoration, shining upon the earth with your crescent smile. In every painting and tapestry you shine as the moon, and I am a little star burning at your side.
Lovely, starling! Do continue.
I shall attempt to respond in kind:
Through the night, we shine brightly as Sun’s strength and Moon’s grace, brought together in starlight’s flames. Thy adoration is truly for the stars: no-one has yet received so fine a gift as that. For all my years, all my loves, this is as spring’s first birdsong: so familiar and yet so new.
It is not particularly good, I know. My skill in wordcraft always lay in hidden meanings and loopholes, not in making words lyrical as yours are. Your skill, starling, is something I quite admire.
I appreciate the starry sounds of this enchanting poetry.... it reminds me somewhat of the old ballads of my kin. You have helped me remember that there may be few of us left, but we are strong and we will survive.
@flammable-daydream this is similar to certain passages from the Startouch tales of old. I... I miss those tales-- perhaps, in your wanderings, you have come across writings in this style?
@the-arcadia-collective perhaps this could help little Aelis figure out if they are indeed Startouched? If this poetry feels like... like home to them as it does to me, that would be a good indication, though not the final word.
