Hey guys, this is arooothur, a friend of Mick’s and I have an unfortunate message for all of you guys. A message that no one ever really wants to see but it’s important.  

Last night we had some incredibly bad storms in Arkansas, from about 4am-7am and the worst of it went towards Mick’s area.  I sent her a text at about 4am telling her they’d go on for a bit but she quite likes storms so she went to bed quite content.

But when I woke up this morning, my local news app went off saying an 18-year-old woman was killed and an 18-month old toddler was in the hospital because a tree had been uprooted by the wind and fell on the house.  I didn’t think anything of it, sending her a text to make sure she was okay and continued on Christmas shopping until I got more paranoid about her not replying and so I contacted her family to see if she was okay.  I didn’t want to believe that it could have been her, but that was unmistakably her house and her family confirmed it.  I’m sorry to say this was our dear friend, the–schuyler–sisters.  Her mom wanted me to know that the only reason the child survived is because of Mick. Mick had been cuddling her and her body shielded her baby sister until they could get her baby sister out.  And her wish did not go unseen, her sister has been discharged from the hospital.

I am really sorry to have to deliver this news to all of you, and my thoughts and wishes are with all of you.  She always has been and always will be loved, especially as one of my best friends.  I’ll probably have a much sappier post on my blog too so read at your own risk there.

They have a set date for the memorial and all and her family currently has a gofundme up for donations and we’re almost to our goal already thanks to the community and friends and family! But if you would like to pitch in, and anything helps even if it’s a dollar, here’s the link
