Crack-ish snippet because it just hit me... Cyclone: It has come to my attention that some of you have entered... relationships with one another. Cyclone: Now due to this potentially impinging on your ability to be impartial in the air I just need to know who is and who isn't. Not who with. Cyclone: Everyone that is... involved with someone in this room please take a step forward. *As one the entire Dagger Squadron step forward with the exception of Maverick*
*Admiral Kazansky walks into the room* *Maverick steps forward* Maverick: Looks like my ride is here. *salutes them and leaves*

Where do I know you from? 3/?
Hangster crackfic. There are too many Jakes and Bradleys for Jake and Bradley to be dealing with. Or the Universe is just as fed up with them being blind.
PART ONE PART TWO
PART THREE
Rooster Nine arrives in chef whites, which he guesses answers the question of what he does for a job, although he’s getting asked a whole raft of questions by Three and Five.
“What are you two writing down?”
“Well, every Bradley here has a Jake in their Universe. I think we’re meant to find you yours.”
“We don’t need to find him. I know where he is.”
                “You’ve met him already?”
                Jake stares at them both.
“Considering you’re both meant to be super smart, you’re thick as bricks. I recognized you all,” Jake says, waving his hand at the accumulating Roosters, who seem to be arriving at an even faster rate. “Of course I’ve met him. I’ve saved his life. We see each other nearly every day.”
Rooster Three and Five exchange looks.
“And you’re not together with him?” Rooster Five asks, raising a skeptical eyebrow and of course he looks exactly like Rooster, but it’s not him and Jake scowls.
“I think I’d know,” Jake snaps.
“Maybe that’s why we’re here. To get them together. Me and my Jake had to swap bodies before we figured our shit out.”
“It’s as good a theory as any,” Rooster Three concedes and Jake pulls a face.
“I don’t need alternate versions of my… work colleague, trying to hook me up with him,” Jake says, and then wonders if that even made sense.
                “Bob would probably know.”
Jake is about to ask why Bob would have any idea about this kind of thing but the door is swinging open and he knows it’s going to be yet another Rooster.
“Oh wow… what is going on here. It’s like there’s a rip in time and space and only I can use it. This is super weird. Hey Jake…”
The way he greets Jake and says Jake’s name is syrupy warm and a few of the other Roosters snort in amusement. Rooster Ten is stepping close and giving him a hug, brushing a kiss across his cheek and Jake pulls back.
“What the fuck man. I don’t know you.”
                “Bet you want to though.”
“No. Apparently his Bradley is just a work colleague.”
Nearly every Rooster in the close vicinity scoffs and this many Bradshaw’s are really starting to get on his nerves. Rooster Ten rests his hands on his shoulders, massages them and as nice as it might feel Jake is not having it.
                “Get your hands off me.”
Immediately Rooster Ten is backing away, hands up in easy supplication, although his eyebrow is quirked in that same challenging way Rooster has and he has to resist the urge to punch it off and he needs to calm down and deescalate the situation. He grits his teeth.
“Surely your Jake wouldn’t want you, uh, touching another Jake.”
“Oh, I know for a fact that he’d be more than okay with this. We have discussed this fantasy in detail.”
Jake doesn’t even know how to begin addressing that, just turns toward Three and Five, because despite their nerding-out over the science they haven’t tried to hit on him. Other then Three giving him a wink, which compared to the other shit happening is completely benign. Still, Rooster Ten doesn’t seem too put-off, settles in the chair next to Jake and just watches, accepts the beer from Rooster Six.
Rooster Ten went to USNA. He’s the first Rooster here who went to USNA and Jake wonders if that’s what makes him more confident. Except all of the Roosters are confident in their own ways. Of course, that’s when Rooster Eleven arrives, and he looks like he’s wearing body paint, he doesn’t have the same bulk as some of the others, but he’s still well muscled. Jake can tell under the body-paint-esque workout attire that Rooster Eleven is wearing.
Rooster Ten reaches over and closes his jaw, dabs at the corner of Jake’s mouth with a napkin.
“Just a work colleague huh?” Rooster Ten murmurs, and Jake gives him the finger.
“What do you do?” Rooster Three asks the new arrival.
“I’m a dance teacher. Are you documenting all this?”
“For science,” Rooster Three and Five answer and Rooster Eleven just nods, shrugs his shoulders easily. He seems very relaxed.
“And is Tom Kazansky alive or dead…”
“Dead… what kind of question is that?”
“We’re just trying to figure out all the potential pivot points of the timelines. So is Maverick with Penny in your Universe then?”
                “No. He’s with Beau.”
                “Who?”
                “Ah, Admiral Simpson.”
Jake is glad he isn’t the only one spitting their drink out in surprise.

I'm once again all caught up on my numbers/letters. Send me some more? (I am taking a writing break to go and do adult stuff. Like house work...)
I've written 11970 words so far this weekend.
FICS UPDATED IN THE LAST THREE DAYS:
Online & Anonymous (Part 3)
Saga of Solitude (Part 3)
Where do I know you from? (Part 2, Part 3 posting tomorrow)
Caring, Keeping and Collecting Transformers - A Guide (Part 2)
More than Movie magic (two chapters, 18 and 19)
Tell me what to write weekend...
Thursday is Anzac Day, a public holiday in New Zealand, and while I am working on Friday I expect to be one of the very people at work and will 100% take advantage of that fact to write fanfic.
So my weekend starts tomorrow after I get home from the dawn service. I still have stuff I need to do but writing is always up there.
NUMBERS:
Online and Anonymous - 2/16 Hangster who are anonymous Grindr buddies for YEARS. (Tumblr post)
More than Movie Magic - Hangster Hollywood AU (4 chapters left)
Sagas of Solitude 2/? - IceMav with side Hangster AU - angsty Nepo!Baby
CURRENT LETTERS:
A, C, D, E, H, I, K... Bingo #1, Bingo #2
A) Where do I know you from? There are too many Jakes and Bradleys for Jake and Bradley to be dealing with. (Tumblr idea unspooling here...)
C) To wake, perchance to dream - Jake wakes up in the future, gets a glimpse of what their life could be and then wakes up back right before being called back to Top Gun for the special detachment (e.g. TGM). (Tumblr post and the beginning of the fic)
D) Together or not at all... (SEQUEL) - Hangster - years after Javy/Nat get together they think their best friends (Hangman and Rooster) could maybe try dating each other. It'll either end in disaster or not.
E) Cyclone/Maverick - Cyclone is struggling to deal with being attracted to the most annoying person he's ever met. Why does he like him so much?
H) Getting to know you from the beginning - an Ice/Mav epistolary fic where Jake and Bradley matchmake them, not realising exactly who it is they've matched together.
I) Life is too short to waste time matching socks... 2/? The peach and eggplant socks as an anonymous gift as an incredibly unsubtle hint that someone would like to fuck them. (tumblr idea unspooling here...)
K) Caring, Keeping and Collecting Transformers - A Guide - Transformers cross-over for help me @yeagrave is 110% to blame for me adding this... (related to this post) (Prologue)
BINGO #1 - Hangster Ranch AU
BINGO #2 - IceMav Florist/Undercover Agent AU
You pick 1-3 of the above and either:
reply
Message
Send an ask (Anon is on)
with the letters/Numbers of the fic/s you wish would hurry up and get finished/posted already. (Yes, you can pick the same one three times - some of these fics are that close to getting finished that would be enough to tip them over, you also don't have to pick more than one).
Numbers indicate fics I am consciously working on updating/completing, and likely have a completion date in mind.
Letters indicate fics that are often getting completed because people ask for me to work on them through things like this. (I usually do this every weekend).
Asterisks represent fics that are most likely soon to become numbered fics.
Doing this keeps me on task and makes me accountable. It stops me from procrastinating and I really appreciate people providing their numbers.
THANK YOU!

More than movie magic... 19/?
Hangster AU. Explicit (eventually). Jake is a Hollywood actor and Bradley is a stunt coordinator. Jake's about to make a few self-discoveries. So is Bradley.
ONE TWO THREE FOUR FIVE SIX SEVEN EIGHT NINE TEN ELEVEN TWELVE THIRTEEN FOURTEEN FIFTEEN SIXTEEN SEVENTEEN EIGHTEEN
Chapter 16 is pretty much the only explicit chapter (so far), so you can skip it if you like, but it's not explicit by my standards, and it's very soft/tender.
NINETEEN
“Sorry, sorry. Sorry I’m late. Jake’s mom is way more terrifying than you. Hopefully I won’t need more than one shovel talk.”
Marcia snorts and shakes her head, gestures to where Bob is working and Bradley is grateful that he brought him along with how easily he just seems to know what needs to be done. Man deserves a bonus for this job for sure, picking up Bradley’s slack, uncharacteristic as it is. It’s not a usual situation and he knows Bob will understand that.
“Also, Marcia, I need to warn you that Pete’s on his way. I apologize in advance for anything and everything he says.”
“Ugh. It’s fine. Thanks for the warning though. I’ll put him to work and then refuse to put his name in the credits. Serve him right for just turning up and expecting to be welcomed.”
                “You’re the best. Thanks.”
“Yeah yeah, now get to work and bring us back on schedule hmm?
“Yes ma’am!” Bradley replies, tipping an imaginary hat. She scoffs and rolls her eyes, makes a shooing gesture with her hands and Bradley grins.
                “Not you too!”
“It’s rubbing off on me!” Bradley calls back.
“Rubbing off on something, your boy looks like he got attacked by a cheese grater and then used lemon juice as a moisturizer. You’re going to need to start shaving twice a day,” Natasha mutters, reaching out to whack him on the arm as he walks past. “Maybe consider getting rid of the caterpillar huh?”
“I happen to like the caterpillar,” Jake interjects, and he looks a little uncertain about interrupting them but Bradley reaches for him, pulls him into a side-hug, leaves his arm around Jake’s waist and feels Jake relax against him. He thinks about Aunty Kaye saying maybe he’ll believe you and he just squeezes a little more, pokes his tongue out at Natasha’s eye roll.
“You two are gross. Can we get on with doing what we’re meant to be doing?”
                “Sure sure…”
…            …            …
It’s meant to be all long distance action shots today of them riding and corralling, and Natasha and Rueben are proficient riders, comfortable in their seats even if they don’t quite look born to it. That’s fine, Javy and Callie aren’t playing characters born to it like Jake is.
“You know, your mom just gave me the most eloquent shovel talk I’ll ever receive.”
                Jake snorts.
“She was an English and Drama teacher, what were you expecting?”
“Well, the fact that it was also a pep talk was sort of weird…”
                “What do you mean?”
“Well, she said she’d do the same to you if she found out if you hurt me. Physically, emotionally or mentally.”
“What did she threaten you with?” Jake asks, because his mom is not one for violence, not even threatening it. She was always pretty creative with Jake and his siblings growing up, which is almost worse than threatened violence which will never actually eventuate. His mom always believed in only ever threatening things she was fully committed to following through on.
“Uh. Just a disappointed look? For either of us if we screw it up on purpose?”
                Jake bursts into laughter.
“Oh god. You don’t know her very well yet, but uh, when she says that, she really means it. It’s not just an in person look. She’ll take a photo of herself, she will then print it, and she will post it to you. She will email it to you. Post it on all her social media accounts. She’ll rent advertising space and put text saying I am disappointed in you with the photo. It’s… it’s horrifying. And I haven’t had her do that to me thankfully, but my sister, oh boy… It stops when you make it right. Or when she thinks you’ve suffered sufficiently.”
“Well, I’m glad you have her in your corner. And I don’t need her to threaten me to do the best for you, I want to do that anyway.”
                “You a secret romantic there?”
“No secret about it. I grew up surrounded by love stories.”
Jake pulls a face, because while there might be plenty of love stories in Hollywood, there are also plenty of affairs and divorces. Bradley seems to pick up on his train of thought.
“Nothing worth it is easy. I don’t scare easily. Not afraid of hard work. But the love story I was thinking of was my parents. And you have your parents. Those love stories are where we should be looking.”
Jake blinks, throat a little tight and he nods, because yeah, that kind of love story is something he believes in.
…            …            …
                “Seresin.”
Jake looks up, and he doesn’t recognize the person addressing him but something about the way he said his name has him straightening up and his stomach flips, because yeah, if he hadn’t known Tom Kazansky was going to be arriving today he wouldn’t have recognized him, but now that he’s looking this man is him. Older and greyer, but still recognizable if you know who you’re looking at.
“Mr Kazansky, it’s nice to meet you,” Jake says, holding out his hand.
There’s a brief hesitation before Tom Kazansky is shaking his hand and the man is a multiple award winning director and screen writer, albeit no longer as prolific as he was twenty or even ten years ago, but he still has a presence that expects people to listen to him when he talks. He’s a little intimidating, but not because of his reputation in Hollywood. This is Bradley’s other parental figure and he desperately wants to make a good impression.
“And you. Pete’s told me a lot about you.”
“Uh. Okay,” Jake says and grimaces a little, because he’d rather that he’d heard all about Jake from Bradley, but he guesses they’re new, Bradley wouldn’t have had time to talk about him to his parental figures.
“Don’t worry, I only believe about half of what Pete tells me.”
“How do you know what half to believe?”
“Experience,” Kazansky says dryly and Jake bites his lip in amusement, ducks his head so it won’t be noticed. “Also Pete is prone to exaggeration. He’s likely bothering Marcia and Arnold. And Bradley. Thought I’d come and introduce myself.”
                Jake nods.
“Bradley didn’t tell me about you until just this morning, hasn’t really had a chance to tell me anything. I know he was planning on a family dinner when we get back to LA.”
“Yes. Pete sort of forced Bradley’s hand there. You’ll get used to it. I hope.”
“Bradley has already warned me that Parent-Pete is different from the Professional-Pete that I know, but I’m not going to be scared off by threats or anything. Bradley’s already having to deal with that from my mom, so it seems like the bare minimum I can do.”
“It’s not the threats I’d be worried about when it comes to Pete. And I guess I get Partner-Pete and you get Parent-in-law-Pete. Lord help us.”
Jake thinks he’s going to like him, once he gets to know him better. Seems to have a dry sense of humor and actually… reminds him a lot of his dad.
“I don’t know if you’re wanting to hang around the set, but if you want a quiet place to just, sit and chill, my dad is at home. He doesn’t get out much since his accident, prefers peace and quiet. You’re welcome to wait there, if you don’t want to hang around the set that is.”
He’s aware he’s rambling a little, but by the expression on Tom Kazansky’s face he’s letting Jake do it deliberately.
                “I’d like that. Thank you.”

Hangster. Explicit. Years before they meet in person Bradley and Jake strike up a friends-with-benefits relationship online. And then something more like an actual relationship.
Odd year = Bradely's POV and Even year = Jake's POV
>>Bradley chatting (bold and italics)
>>Jake chatting (italics)
2005/2006 2007
2008 – Jake
                Flight school.
Four years at USNA and now he’s back in Texas, the familiarity seeping into him like a homecoming and part of him cannot believe he made it into flight school. Not that he’ll let anyone else think he had any doubt, but he is inwardly fist pumping, outwardly trying to pretend it’s no big deal. He doesn’t care if it comes off smug, he does feel a little smug, that he obviously good enough to have been selected. Damn it feels good. And also such a relief.
                He’s good enough.
He wants to share it with Nick. Doesn’t of course. While he trusts Nick with pretty much every little piece of vulnerability when it’s related to his sexuality and experience in that arena, his career is shaping up to be another huge part of his identity and he doesn’t need help or guidance from a guy on a website on how to best work on this aspect of his life. He feels like he’s got this one. After a few months though he decides to share, in a vague way, because he’s been getting comments from his instructors.
                Approval.
                He’s doing well.
>>You ever accomplish something that people didn’t think you could do?
>>That even you maybe didn’t think you could do?
>>HA.
>>Yes.
>>Feels fucking amazing to prove them wrong.
Jake grins at the screen, wants to tell him about how amazing it is, being in the air. How much he loves it, the rush of the pressure pushing him back into the seat as he takes off. The
>>I got into my first choice of programme. So yeah.
>>Does feel pretty good.
>>Well done. Proud of you.
>>Thanks.
>>Think you maybe need to believe in yourself more.
>>Maybe.
>>My parents didn’t.
>>Don’t.
He hasn’t talked about his parents with Nick. Talking about your parents generally doesn’t come up when your jerking off with another guy online, but they talk about a lot of different stuff now and it fits with this right now. He feels like Nick might get it.
>>I came out to them and they kicked me out.
>>Oh shit. I’m sorry.
>>I mean, it’s not a competition but my parents are dead so I can understand that feeling of loss I guess? Like they should be around to support me, but they aren’t.
>>Sucks more for you I think. They’re alive and are just bigots.
>>I was lucky to already have a place to go.
>>I’m extra proud of you.
Pensacola is a different beast than boat school, everyone seems to be a little smug that they made the cut to be there, and Jake lets himself absorb the culture. He tries sleeping with a woman only to find that he can apparently have worse sexual experiences than his first time with a man, and of course he finds himself messaging Nick.
>>Bad sex with a man is still preferable than bad sex with a woman.
>>You give in to peer pressure and hook up huh?
>>How did you know?
>>Been there, done that. Got the tshirt.
>>As a gay man I have to tell you that even bad sex with a man rates above mediocre sex with a woman.
>>Why do people care so much where you want to stick your dick?
>>I like that rhyme. And I have no fucking clue. Mystery. It’s not like gay people haven’t always existed.
>>I’ve got a friend, female friend, who knows I’m gay, and she let’s me use her as a beard sometimes. Everyone thinks we have an on-again off-again fuck-buddies type thing going on.
>>So you’re still not out to people.
>>Nope. Would make work impossible so I just –
>>Hide in plain sight.
>>Huh. I wonder if I could get one of my friends to cover for me.
>>A lot less women in the military. Good luck I guess?
>>Well. I think one of my friends might just lie for me. Tell others that he saw me leaving with a hot chick or something. He’s the best wingman.
He stares at the message, wishes he could call it back.
                Delete it.
                It’s too close to home.
                Wingman.
>>Definitely need a good wingman if you’re planning on cruising. You got bigger balls then me if you’re going to try and do it while you’re not on leave.
>>Are you sure that’s safe?
>>It’s not like they’re following me and putting cameras in rooms. I just need to be careful. Although so not worth it most of the time. But it would be kind of nice to have the option if it did present itself.
>>Yeah, I’m sure guys are just falling into your lap in the military.
>>I mean, they might be and I’m just not picking up the signs. They’re probably so repressed they wouldn’t be any good anyway.
>>I’ll leave that for you to find out.
>>Not sure if I should be wishing you luck or telling you to be careful.
Jake isn’t sure either. He probably not going to risk it.
…            …            …
It’s not always possible for them to have instant communication. He gets interrupted sometimes, or Nick isn’t available for days at a time, sometimes weeks, and his own schedule is erratic. However he’s always had time, made time, to chat with him since they found each other and he doesn’t have so many close friends that he can afford to ignore one.
“What are you always doing on your laptop?” Javy asks and Jake feels like time freezes around him for a split second. Javy is one of the few people he’d count as a friend, his easy-going nature dealing with Jake’s prickliness effortlessly, seemingly patient and just waiting for Jake to come around. They were at USNA together and it wasn’t until they shared all their third- and second-class summers together that Jake had thought that maybe they could be friends.
“Talking with a friend. He travels a lot.”
He feels like it’s not actually a stretch of the truth, because he’s figured out that Nick moves around, the times he can talk inconsistent, meaning different times zones. He’s always assumed that Nick is American, but now he knows that the website they’re using to chat is actually based in England, and for all he knows Nick could be anywhere in the world.
>>Are you American?
>>Will you stop talking to me if I say no?
>>Of course not.
>>I’m shaking my head at you. You’re meant to be all patriotic being a member of our military. Shouldn’t be communicating with the enemy.
>>You just called it our military. Pretty sure you’re American.
>>Caught out. Yeah. I travelled around a lot as a kid. Tennessee, California, Virginia, Maryland and even Texas. Who knows, we could have walked past each other and never even known.
>>Yeah. We could have. That would be a weird coincidence.
“You know, if you ever want to tell me something, I’m pretty good at keeping secrets.”
Jake’s head snaps up so fast he’s surprised there isn’t an accompanying sound.
                “What?”
“Just. Uh. I know if there was something, you can’t tell me. But if you did, and I’m not asking you to, but if you did, I wouldn’t be letting anyone else know. No telling on my part, that is.”
                He blinks.
                Holy shit.
That’s pretty much Javy saying he knows, or at least suspects, that Jake is… something other than straight.
“Just, once second. Just let me say bye…”
>>I think I’m about to come out to a guy who is my best friend in real life, because you’re my best friend in not-real life, plus we have sex and I do not want to ever have sex with J, but uh… I think I might be sick.
>>I’ll talk to you soon.
His conversation with Javy goes around in circles for a little bit, Javy not willing to ask outright, and Jake unprepared to speak the truth; terrified to voice it. Then Javy gets fed up, places his hands on Jake’s shoulders and just stares at him, expression serious.
“Jake. You’re the closest thing I have to a brother. There is nothing, nothing,” he stresses, “that would make me stop loving you as my brother and best friend. So, if in some hypothetical world you felt brave enough to tell me that you were… gay, then it wouldn’t change anything for me. I just. I got your back no matter what okay?”
Jake can’t form words, grabs Javy into a tight hug, he’s biting his lip so hard it hurts, might even be drawing blood and he nods.
                “Thank you.”
“Any time man. You want to go shoot some pool?”
Jake lets out a shaky breath and nods again.
They spend several hours together, in which Javy seems to want to really impress upon Jake that nothing is going to change between them. He still uses his body to shove Jake out of the way when he shows Javy up at pool, still slaps his ass in a vain attempt to distract him while playing darts, grabs them beers and doesn’t pull his fingers away when they accidentally brush like Jake is somehow going to take that as a sign of something more. He can have friends that know and they won’t hate him.
                It’s a revelation.
…            …            …
>>How did it go?
>>I’m kind of worried about you.
>>Hope you haven’t done anything stupid.
>>Or been beaten up.
>>Dishonorable discharge.
>>Fuck Jas, please tell me you’re okay.
Jake stares at the flood of messages and feels touched, but also a little hysterical, because none of those worse case scenarios are going to happen. He trusts Javy with his life, he can definitely trust him with knowing.
>>I’m okay. Sorry.
>>It was fine. He had pretty much guessed and we talked about it. He’s the best.
>>After you.
>>Glad to know I haven’t been replaced.
>>I appreciated you for the orgasms.
>>Oh. Okay. Putting me back in my place.
>>Prefer you to put me in my place.
>>Really now? You in the mood huh?
>>Yeah.
>>Fuck. This is awful timing. I’ve got to leave in like five minutes.
>>Can’t take care of you like I want to.
>>That’s okay. You can go out and do what you need to do, and while you’re out you can think about me, jerking off as I type out what I want to do to you.
>>Unfair.
>>Hot though.
>>Shit. I’ve really got to go. I look forward to reading whatever you leave me.
Jake grins, a little nervous. He’s gotten better at this, anything he does regularly for a few years becomes better, but he doesn’t know if it’s good. Not without Nick offering his constant feedback. He always finds what they talk about together the best, but Nick has left him plenty of messages that are just descriptions of what he wants and likes that Jake wants to return the favor.
>>I want to go down on you, suck you off until you come. I want to kneel in front of you and take my time, learn the taste and smell of you. The texture of your skin under my tongue and fingers.
>>I want to do it while I’m in my uniform, because that feels taboo you know? Want you to rub the head of your dick over my lips.
>>Want you naked so I can touch everywhere.
>>I start off slow, a little cautious because I want you to fuck my face, but we’re going to need to build up to that, stretch out my mouth and throat a little, let me gets used to the feel of you in my mouth and throat.
>>I really want to do this. I’m hard just thinking about it. Like the idea of your hand on my head, just guiding me, think I’d enjoy fingernails scraping my head.
>>I want to do this with a guy with no condom, I want to taste the skin and salt. I want that trust as well.
>>I’d trust you.

Where do I know you from? 2/?
Hangster crackfic. There are too many Jakes and Bradleys for Jake and Bradley to be dealing with. Or the Universe is just as fed up with them being blind.
PART ONE
PART TWO
Answers do not miraculously present themselves and he decides to switch to water so that he can at least try and track what’s going on, wants to hear the answers to whatever Rooster Three is asking Rooster Four, who is apparently a tattoo artist. Okay then. At least that will be easy enough to remember.
Then Rooster number five walks in and Jake thought Rooster was tall, but this Rooster is taller, several inches taller and Jake looks around helplessly. He’s not strong enough to resist looking at this many Roosters, everywhere he turns there is at least one in his line of sight and his brain is noting that they’re all unfairly attractive, while another part is wondering whether an orgy with versions of the same person is really an orgy.
“I wonder why you ended up so tall,” Rooster Three is saying, head tilted as he studies Rooster Five and Jake wonders if everything remained proportional.
“I ate all my vegetables. What’s going on? Where are we?”
“This is a Navy bar. I’m guessing parallel universes, but we’re all being pulled here for a reason.”
“Wow. This is fascinating. What have you discovered so far?”
“Well, none of us are in the Navy.”
“What?” Jake interrupts, looking at Rooster Three.
“Florist, forensic accountant, tattoo artist…” Rooster Three says, pointing at Rooster One, Two and Four.
“And you?” Rooster Five asks Rooster Three.
Jake’s head is starting to hurt.
“I’m an engineer, but I’m also a professor.”
“Huh. Cool. I got my PhD in physics, but only so I could figure out how to jump out of planes better.”
“And your Jake? What does he do?”
                “He’s a naval aviator.”
                “Same as mine. Interesting.”
“Why? Why is that interesting?” Jake interrupts, trying to follow the volley of words back and forth.
“What does your Bradley do here?”
                “He’s a naval aviator. Why?”
“Oh shit… a universe where he went to boat school.”
                “No. No he enlisted.”
“What?” Rooster Three and Five say simultaneously and Jake draws back a little.
                “Uh. He enlisted?”
“Why did he need to enlist?”
Jake shifts in his seat, because he only knows about all of this because he saw Bradshaw and Maverick’s fractured relationship and then saw how it has slowly been getting stitched back together, slowly and painfully.
“Uh. Maverick pulled his papers from USNA.”
                “And Ice let him?”
                “Ice?” Jake asks.
                “Iceman. Tom Kazansky?”
                “Uh… he’s dead?”
Both Roosters go pale, shaking their heads in denial and Jake wonders if he needs to remind them that this isn’t apparently their universe anyway, so no harm no foul.
“This is fucked up,” Rooster Five mutters, looking close to tears.
“But you know who he is,” Rooster Three says to Jake. “I need a bigger piece of paper.”
                Jake needs a drink.
Screw drinking water so he can deal with the situation better.
Maybe it will make more sense if he’s drunk.
Yet another Rooster has walked in, raised an eyebrow and then just politely asked Penny if she needs a hand behind the bar. She’s accepted and told him that he could deal with all his own people, and now Rooster Six is mixing cocktails, clearly knows his way around behind a bar. He slides one across to Jake and nods his head, lips twitching in amusement.
“You look like you need this.”
“Thanks,” Jake says, and he doesn’t normally drink cocktails, but this is fresh and sweet, hints of pineapple and he takes another sip, salutes Rooster Six with it and gets a wink back.
                He is so fucked.
Nope. No. He was wrong. Now he’s fucked. A new Rooster has arrived, wearing scrubs, and that shouldn’t be as hot as it is. Doctor Bradshaw? Nurse Bradshaw? God. Regardless he looks good. Rooster Three and Five have acquired paper and tape, sticking multiple pieces together to make one large sheet. There are columns. And different colored pens.  They’re asking questions in the name of science and Jake learns that Rooster Seven is in fact a vet and has no idea what has happened.
Well that makes two of them.
Although he knows that all the other Roosters also have no idea, with the exception of Three and Five.
                Weirdos.
The door to the Hard Deck slams open then, and his breath catches. It’s Rooster in uniform, the first Rooster to walk in and be a naval aviator and he hopes like hell this is his Rooster. Rooster waves his hand, looking annoyed.
“Why does the weird shit always happen to me?”
Rooster Three and Five both seem to perk up, turning towards Rooster Eight who looks like he just wants to turn around and walk out.
“For fucks sake… start from the top of the list again I guess.”
“What?” Jake asks, but then Rooster Eight is kissing him and Jake doesn’t have time to even begin kissing back before Rooster Eight is pulling back and frowning.
                “Huh. That’s didn’t work.”
“Did you expect it to?” Rooster Three asks, leaning forward with interest.
“Well, no. But I hoped. We don’t even know what made us swap bodies…”
“Wait, you’ve swapped bodies? With who?”
                “Jake.”
Jake is shaking his head, mouthing no no no, hands held up in supplication but both Rooster Three and Five look fascinated.
“Not you!” Rooster Eight states. “Although, you do look pretty much exactly like my Jake. But you don’t know ASL.”
                “Uh. No?”
“Hmm. I greeted you in ASL when I arrived and you just blanked me. It’s how I knew.”
                Jake looks confused.
“I know ASL in your universe huh?”
“Yeah, you’ve been teaching me so I can communicate with Ice better.”
                “Ice is deaf?”
                “No, the cancer.”
“The what now? Cancer? He got cancer? Is that what he died of here?”
“Wait. Ice is dead here?” Rooster Eight asks, looking just a upset as Three and Five had earlier. Jake is so confused.
“Uh. Admiral Kazansky? Yeah… about a year ago. Why?”
That seems to cause a flurry of conversation and questions and Rooster Three and Five are adding a column.
“So eight of us so far and only one has become a naval aviator. And I’m guessing your universe and this one are… maybe similar? No USNA and papers pulled? But your Ice is alive,” Rooster Three says, pointing at Rooster Eight, who nods.
Jake doesn’t understand why the late Admiral Kazansky is so important to this many Roosters.
“Uh… do you have a column for no-one being dead and no-one in the navy?” Rooster Six asks.
“Pivot points. There have to be pivot points –” Rooster Five is muttering.
“Or timeline splitting points right? My dad dying, my mom dying, then Maverick pulling my papers and then Ice’s cancer and then the mission…”
“Jesus that sounds like an awful universe…” the Rooster behind the bar says, his eyes wide and multiple pairs of eyes swing his way.
                “What?”
“What’s it like in your Universe then?”
“Uh. Well. For a start my parents are both alive. And I have… a big family I guess? And Pete and Tom are also both alive and together.”
“Maverick and Admiral Kazansky? Together?” Jake asks.
“They’re together in my universe as well,” Rooster Three states, and Rooster Five is nodding in agreement and Jake bites his lip, wonders how badly Iceman’s death hurt Rooster or Maverick in this universe if he was so important in all these other ones.

I have to admit I am having to use a spreadsheet to track all the different Bradley/Rooster/Bradshaws in 'Where do I know you from?'
It's all well and good that Jake finds them all attractive, however we're into double figures of Bradley/Rooster/Bradshaws milling around the Hard Deck...

Caring, Keeping and Collecting Transformers - A Guide 2/?
Maverick is unknowingly surrounded by Transformers. He knows something is up though. Just not quite what it is exactly.
Bradley and Jake, having never met, are embarking on their own journeys and will have to learn to deal with the fact that they've both been adopted by Transformers.
Despite having years more experience, Maverick is no help at all.
CHAPTER ONE
CHAPTER TWO
Bradley knows his car isn’t normal.
The fact that he has never once had to buy gas is the biggest red flag if he ever saw one, except it’s not really red, because his car never stops working. Only works for him in fact, which he had thought was a joke that Maverick had started jokingly when he was younger. Except his car refuses to start for anyone else. No one can borrow it. He’s tried all of one time, handing the keys to one of his college friends when they’d asked if they could borrow his truck to move. He hadn’t thought twice about saying yes. And then they’d come back over an hour later saying it just wouldn’t start.
So now everyone thinks his car is either cursed or possessed, in a joking way, the same way Maverick had, except Maverick had sometimes eyed it like he believed something else. And as much as he hates Maverick, he also doesn’t think he’d have let Bradley get into something that could potentially hurt him. Had seemed glad that it had started for Bradley, and Bradley alone. He hadn’t thought the car was maybe sentient or something until he’d lost the keys and thought he’d… beg.
“Will you start for me buddy? I can’t find my keys and I really need to get across town to my classes…”
He knows that later he’s going to think he imagined the wave of shuddering his car gave, like it was shrugging its shoulders or something. Except of course his car doesn’t have fucking shoulders, but it still starts and the radio flares to life and he doesn’t recognize the song playing at all, but he listens anyway… It's things I do for you, In return do the same for me. Okay. He doesn’t know what the hell that means, unless he’s meant to take the things I do for you literally.
“I’ll give you a really good wash and polish okay? Oil wherever you want…” Bradley says, and he feels a little stupid, talking to his car, rubbing a hand along the dash, but his car just started because he asked it to so he’s past the point of thinking himself crazy. God he wishes he could talk to Maverick about this.
…            …            …
When Jake’s accepted into USNA his family are all proud of him, then he gets into flight school, his dream of becoming an aviator one step closer. He has his degree in mechanical engineering and he knows better now. Knows more now, about how things are meant to fit together. How things work. This plane he’s been working on, playing with, since he was a kid doesn’t fit any of the stuff he’s learnt and he wonders if he simply fucked it up that badly as a teenager trying to do it up.
He goes on a bit of a fact-finding mission. Talks to his uncle, finds out the original body came from a fair distance away, up past the Arctic circle in Canada. The fact his uncle had it transported all the way down to Texas is impressive, but his uncle is a truck driver and has travelled the breadth of the continent. He runs his hands over the body skeleton, knows he’s imagining the humming vibration beneath his fingers even if he wishes it were true. He’s been gone for years, away at USNA, and then flight school. While he’s been gone more bits of scrap have accumulated beside it, and no one knows when or how it got there. He hasn’t had time to dedicate to trying to fix her up properly, but looking around it’s almost like all the pieces are there.
Hell, it’ll give him something to do while he has time to kill between deployments, his parents won’t mind storing it in an old barn if it means he comes home. It’s not like he has anything better to do.
“You realize it’s never going to become airborne…” his father says, coming to stand beside him as he stares at it all, somehow just as big as it had seemed when he was a kid.
“I don’t care. It’s good practice for me, and I enjoy it. No harm right?”
…            …            …
The first time the Bronco reappears at the hangar Pete nearly has a heart attack. He definitely has a panic attack and has to breathe through it before grabbing the phone and ringing Ice.
                “Bradley. Is Bradley okay?”
                “Mav? What’s wrong?”
“Just… I know I told you not to tell me. But can you just tell me he’s alive?”
“Yes. I know he is. He left on his first deployment yesterday. Five months.”
He breathes easier, thanks Ice for sharing that information with him and then turns to just look at the Bronco. It’s a bit dusty but it looks well maintained. Shiny and well cared for. A little before five months later when he wakes up the Bronco is gone and Pete finds himself more than okay knowing where the car’s true loyalties are.
…            …            …
                Bradley doesn’t believe in magic.
                Magic doesn’t exist.
                Any yet sometimes he wonders.
Because he doesn’t know how to explain it.
He’d left his car in Virginia Beach, fairly certain that it was going to be there when he got back. It’s not like anyone else can even drive it, let alone steal it. Although a part of him wonders what would happen if someone tried to steal the tires. And if he could film it.
Getting off the carrier in San Diego he’s heading toward the transport to take him to base. He’s organized a flight back to Virginia Beach, and he’ll take his leave on the East Coast. Except the sound of a car horn has him looking and this, this is why he thinks his life is somehow got a touch of the eldritch or something. The Bronco is sitting and waiting. Waiting for him specifically, windows down, because no one else can drive it.
But it can apparently drive itself and it came to pick him up.
It’s a hell of a homecoming and he kisses his fingers and then taps the fingers to the dashboard as he gets in.
“Good to see you buddy. Missed you.”
He hopes no-one sees him talking to thin-air, but he’s also pretty sure his car can not only hear him but understands him. It occurs to him that he now has to cancel his flight transfer back, and he still somehow has to get to himself and his car to Virginia Beach, because he doesn’t want to be hanging around San Diego and bumping into anyone.
…            …            …
                “Thanks for the new bike…”
                “I don’t know what you’re talking about.”
                “Love you too.”
Tom frowns. Are people just dumping their old junkers at the hangar now?
Well. At least it’s keeping Pete busy.
…            …            …
“I don’t want you driving that late at night when you’re that tired. We aren’t in our twenties any more Pete…”
“So you bought me a trailer? So I can sleep at the hangar?”
                “Well, not just sleep…”
“Ooohhh… yeah okay. Let’s go give it a test drive huh?”
                “Sounds good.”
…            …            …
Jake is tired. That has to be why he’s seeing a giant walking plane staring down at his plane, his do-it-upper that he’s had for over fifteen years now. He thinks and dreams about planes and flying so much he’s now seeing them when he’s awake. He should probably go back to bed. Then the thing is turning, bearing down on him and snarling.
“You. Human. Did you do this?”
                “Holy shit…” Jake says.
                “Answer me!”
“Did what exactly? Build it? Yeah. That was me. I’m trying to fix him up. Who are you? What are you?”
The machine’s eyes flick over him, clearly assessing or looking for something and Jake stands where he is, scared shitless but refusing to show it.
“Who I am does not matter, but my name is Starscream. This is… my friend. Jetfire. What happened to him?”
“Uh. I don’t know. I’ve been collecting pieces and rebuilding it… is… Is Jetfire like you?”
“Jetfire is better than I. I failed him. He will need his wings and some power.”
Jake looks between the pile of pieces which form a very rough body of a plane fuselage and then at the towering body of… Starscream.
“Wait, are you saying he can be bought back to life?”
“Of course. We will finish rebuilding him.”
“Holy shit,” Jake says again. “You’re serious. What are we going to need?”
Starscream looks at him, and he doesn’t look happy.
“We…” he looks even more disgusted at the word. “Are going to need help.”
And yeah, okay. Jake can appreciate where he’s coming from.

Have another 45 minutes of work and then I am finished for the week. Only have 750 words to write and then I'm back to a clean slate. Hit me up. (Or send an anonymous message.) (Or do both so the fic you want to read the most gets some love.)
THANK YOU!

The story of these two men is my Roman Empire.
Tumblr media
Yuri Gagarin and Vladimir Komarov were highly decorated Cosmonauts, both of which made firsts in the history of space flight.
Yuri Gagarin famously became the first man in space on April 12, 1961.
Vladimir Komarov piloted Voshkod 1 on October 12, 1964 on the first space mission to carry multiple crew members. He flew again aboard Soyuz 1 on April 23, 1967, becoming the first Russian man to make two spaceflights.
Yuri Gagarin and Vladimir Komarov were close.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
The Soyuz 1 was described as being “a piece of shit” and a “devil ship” as issues plagued the spacecraft throughout development and failed testing. Yuri had done everything he could to get the launch postponed, including writing a ten-page memo detailing the 203 structural problems he had discovered during inspection of the Soyuz 1. Any person who had laid eyes on the memo would be fired or demoted.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Komarov knew of these issues, but refused to step down from the missions. In March of 1987 he met with Venyamin Russayev, a then-recently-demoted KGB agent who had been assigned to "mind" Yuri Gagarin.
He met with Russayev and said, "I'm not going to make it back from this flight." Russayev asked, “Why not refuse?” Komarov answered: "If I don't make this flight, they'll send the backup pilot instead." That was Yuri Gagarin. Komarov couldn't do that to his friend. "That's Yura. And he'll die instead of me. We've got to take care of him." Komarov then burst into tears.
Tumblr media
Yuri, nicknamed Yura by friends and family, showed up on the day of the launch “demanding to be put into a space suit,” "demanding this and this and this...", doing anything and everything he could to be the one on that spacecraft instead of Vladimir. Unfortunately, his attempts were be futile.
Soyuz 1 would launch on April 23, 1967 and faced serious issues throughout the flight. The parachutes failed to deploy during reentry and the spacecraft burned up while Vladimir screamed and cried and cursed out those responsible.
Tumblr media
Yuri Gagarin was grounded from future space flights and denied permission to pilot military jets. This was devastating for the already deeply depressed man and everyone knew it. Even his favorite hairdresser said that “Yuri couldn't live without flying. It was his whole life. A man can't live without his trade. He can't survive.”
He eventually convinced them to let him fly, but on March 28, 1968, less than a year since Komarov’s accident, he was tragically killed during a routine-training flight aboard a MiG-15. The cause of the accident is unclear, though many speculate that the accident was an assassination on the cosmonaut as he had a falling out with several high-ranking officials following the death of his close friend.
Both Yuri Gagarin and Vladimir Komarov’s names are featured on the memorial for fallen US Astronauts and USSR Cosmonauts left on the moon by the Apollo 11 crew.
