The Torchwood Poet's Department!
Tosh: Organises a poetry writing afternoon as a team building exercise.
Ianto: Is secretly a genius at poetry
Jack: Thinks he's the next Robert Burns (partly because he's met him). Spoilers: He's not
Gwen: About average. Writes a semi decent acrostic.
Owen: He really, really,
definitely does not want,
to even be there

“Listen, mi compadre. I’m not your girlfriend, I’m not your camp counselor, and I’m not your sixth grade teacher that you had a crush on. I’m a graduate of Harvard and Yale and I *think* my powers of debate can rise to meet the socratic wonder that is the White House press corps”
Welcome to WatchMojo and today we’re counting down top 10 moments before disaster-

Echoes of the Past: ‘The West Wing’ and the Continuing Struggle for Change
Step into the time machine and journey back almost a quarter-century. Picture a show that not only withstands the test of time but emerges as a timeless gem. Yes, I’m talking about “The West Wing,” a series that demands a spot on your must-watch list.
This Political Masterpiece is available on streaming with Stan, Binge, Foxtel and 9Now, if you’re in Australia
Don’t let its age fool you; “The West Wing” remains as pertinent as ever, boasting stellar performances, gripping storylines, and a knack for tackling contemporary issues head-on. With seven seasons at your fingertips, get ready for a binge-worthy journey that’ll keep you glued to the screen for nights on end.
As we delve deeper into the intricate tapestry of “The West Wing,” it becomes evident that this series is not just entertainment; it’s a mirror reflecting the realities of our world. While originally airing from 1999 to 2006, the issues tackled in the show resonate strongly even today. Despite the passage of time, the political landscape remains fraught with challenges that echo those depicted in the series.
Consider the issue of gun control, for instance. In the years since the show ended, gun violence in America has only escalated, with mass shootings becoming tragically more frequent. From just three in 2006 to a staggering 12 in 2023, the statistics paint a bleak picture. Yet, the debate rages on, and meaningful progress seems elusive.
But gun control is just one piece of the puzzle. “The West Wing” delves into a myriad of other pressing issues, from healthcare and education to climate change and LGBTQ+ rights. These topics continue to dominate political discourse, underscoring the show’s enduring relevance.
Moreover, “The West Wing” serves as a platform for ethical reflection, forcing viewers to confront the moral dilemmas faced by politicians in the pursuit of power and progress. As we watch the characters navigate these treacherous waters, we’re compelled to question the integrity of our own leaders and institutions.
Yet, amidst the turmoil and uncertainty, there is a glimmer of hope embedded within the fabric of “The West Wing.” The show celebrates the power of unity and collaboration, reminding us of the strength found in diversity and cooperation. In an era marked by division and polarization, this message resonates now more than ever.
Ultimately, “The West Wing” is more than just a television show; it’s a call to action. It challenges us to demand better from our leaders, to hold them accountable for their actions, and to strive for a more just and equitable society. As we embark on this journey through the corridors of power, let us heed the lessons of “The West Wing” and dare to imagine a future where change is not just possible, but inevitable.

This is practically canon. 😂😂😂😂
Jack: While I’m gone, Owen, you’re in charge.
Owen: Got it.
Jack, whispering: Ianto, you’re secretly in charge.
Ianto: Obviously.

Gwen bashers seriously need to understand just how close those two are to each other !!
TLDR: they are the best of friends :)
Gwen calls him sweetheart (I cannot express how much joy this brings me)
Ianto helps Gwen with the Jonah Bevin case, even though Jack is super against it.
Gwen drags his unconscious body through a tunnel while calling him sweetheart
He looks SO proud in something borrowed, looking at the row of the team he seems to be the smileyest. I mean come on that is a man who is so happy for one of his best friends
Gwen kisses him on the cheek sometimes (this one also fills me with incomprehensible joy)
also explain why he’s so comfortable talking to Gwen about his sex life? He would not divulge that information with anyone, Especially if he didn’t enjoy being around them.
the two just bounce of each other and with that create some of the best little quotes I can think have come from big finish torchwood. I’m actually in love with the fact they make fun of Jack almost every chance they get in the later audios. They both take the piss out of him TOGETHER!!
sorry for yapping so much <\3

jack being such a touchy and physical person in such a casual/platonic way is so important to me. he grabs people’s hands and holds them. he puts his hands on peoples shoulders, giving them a squeeze. he puts his hands in their hair, messing it up. he holds peoples faces in his hands. he pokes and prods. he kisses people on the foreheads and kisses their cheek. he hugs people so close and so tight, holding onto them, and Goooood it’s absolutely everything to me.
