[👣] It might not seem like much, but he said too much already, and Shredder has no desire to continue this conversation. As far as it concerns him, he is stuck with a grouchy old man (we have two hypocrites here, oh joy!), and an awkward teenager in his puberty. "I don't need to prove anything to the likes of you."

It's still the better alternative than dealing with Krang being a pain for the rest of this week, though. Or is it, really?

Maybe they should have let that one-eyed brain join in to help them haul the energy source. He doesn't trust this 'Subprime' to do the repairs in the tank while they're out here.

"All these brainiacs that claim they can do everything, but we are stuck with energy issues. Pathetic." Shredder grumbles to himself, still doing his best in childishly ignoring his unwanted companionship as he goes. He notices primitive wall paintings and and a faint, purple glow in the distance. Was the planet inhabited at some point?

The light gets stronger as they proceed, and a faint but piercing noise becomes audible as they draw closer to the supposed energy source. They walk into what appears to be the proliferation of a large purple energy crystal.

"That looks like a Kraang Crystal. They when touched, so let's hope that's not what this is. Either way, if you can make the stone float, then even better. Because I'm definitely not going to touch whatever it is, either."

Unfortunately for Shredder, while the information he has offered does reply to both Rick's and Morty's questions, it's nowhere near to be enough to satisfy them. Instead the mention of "someone important" piques the boy's interest even more, eyes widening in curious wonder. As for the scientist, he just wants to be right, or at least to have the last word.

"S-So like...an emperor or someone like that?" The teen instantly asks, mind racing with possibilities. "W-Wow. Is it a family heirloom? O-Or did you win it at...I don't know? O-Or did the person give it to you?"

At the same time, the genius rolls his eyes and claims: "A-A necessity for your goal. W-Well, sure, but the two things aren't mutually exclusive. Y-You two can still have other arrangements."

It's only when the Ninja Master explodes, pretty much scolding them as if they had been a pair of pesky kids, the two quiet...even if not for long.

"Uh, oh, g-geez, sorry, I was just...y-you know, making conversation," Morty stammers, equally nervous and embarrassed. He wasn't expecting the man to get so mad just because of a few innocent questions. "I-I mean, we'll be stuck with each other for a while, s-so..."

"S-Stop trying to smooth his feathers, Morty. T-The guy is pissed b-because he has no one he can order around," Rick steps in with a huff. "H-He needs to show off his prowess or-or whatever all the fuckin' time, o-or his ego will shrivel."

Is he being a bit of a hypocrite? Perhaps, but look at him not giving a damn.

"A-As for your 'relevant' question," he even air-quotes the word, "duh. O-Of fuckin' course we can. W-Well, not really carry it, I-I'm not touching that shit till I know what it is. S-So, I'm gonna make that baby float all the way back."

Good Morning, Fam! Here is the 3 weeks late follow-up to this poll =,) I kept meaning to do this post before and then either forgot or wanted to focus on writing something else (because writing juice power is rare these days)

Anyway, I am pretty sure I brought this topic up to friends on discord or even here on my blog, so let me settle this while I'm at it. In before though, the Utrom here are all tiny little motor boats when they're content.

Ironically, the one being the loudest, IS Subprime. That is if he doesn't stubbornly hold it back. He only purrs if he really wants to, and that is extremely rare in his case, go figure. That bastard is so about being in control about everything all the time that he's even holding back any enjoyment. Occasionally he just leaves the scene to stretch out and purr in private in his room. Alone.

Second is Krang. That ol' tiny burbling ball can be like the weirdest hairless cat you ever had on your lap if he stops being discontent for a minute. He is definitely less embarrassed about it than Subprime is. They hear him purring, so what? 'You humans do weird noises too, shut up'.

A close third is actually Bishop, who's very cuddly when he feels safe enough and he's not too busy with work. He's the ideal boyfriend truly if someone doesn't mind him his true size and, you know, everything else.

Grum would be fourth. But, unlike the others, they're very reluctant about getting touched because it's rather uncomfortable to them. They're much more likely to purr if they get to have a long pleasant talk and then just relax while sitting next to the other. Grum is the 'no touchy' hairless cat in the group. But as I pre-faced, they all purr like big happy cats when they're very content. They're just mostly bitches about letting it happen in the first place *shakes them all without exception*

[⚙️]  Grum can't help but let out a small chuckle, even though they initially tried to hide their amusement at Doc's remarks. It is also a welcome change from just getting judged and dealing with unpleasant topics all around. Not that Bishop is necessarily pleasant to talk about either, but he is someone Grum can shrug off more casually than other Utrom they know and that are still around.

The question of how their work gets along catches them a little off-guard, but only a little. They don't really mind the abrupt change of topic, actually. Talking more about Bishop and the Rehabilitation Center might have started to feel awkward, after all.

"I think I'm almost done, I just return the valves now. You know, working with different technology than Utrom is always interesting to me. We have heating systems too, but they look and work differently. Most of our devices include holo- and touch screens. Other species can't use our technology because they don't have tentacles like us, which adds a layer of security to prevent anyone from stealing our stuff. We often also add tentacle scanners to prevent other Utroms from using our private belongings. My shuttle has one." They now turn around to face Doc again, pausing from screwing the valves back on. "Say, are there more things like this radiator lying around here that I could look at later?"

[🧪] “Guess I can’t blame the guy for trying to do some good,” CRK-POP! Doc stretched his neck with a resounded pop and tossed the pun booklet aside— already the old look had grown far too restless with the break.

“Could do without the stick up his you-know-what,” a remark full of levity and a single self-amused snort; one that had no real malice behind it. “Besides: what’s a few couple hundred security protocol violations for a bit of self discovery, eh?”

Doc watched Grum work their magic (and didn’t matter what anyone said, ‘work their science’ did NOT sound as good); he’d be there if an extra hand was needed, but wouldn’t overbear. Yet still, as he watched, a thought trickled into his mind:

To be trapped under a hivemind hypnosis of that caliber… what was it like to be suddenly free of that?

A question Doc left unspoken for now. Instead, he asked:

“So, how’s it coming along?”

[♗] Not much. Bishop didn't detect a lie in her words, he paid attention to that. So, the FBI sent in someone with no knowledge of the matter? As much as it baffles him right now, he will have to talk with her superior later. Right now they have a case to solve. "Frankly, I am unsure of how much help you can provide in this matter myself, Agent Fish. However, if the FBI insists on assigning me a partner for this case, I will do my best to answer any of your occurring questions within your jurisdiction." In hindsight, the mention of otherworldly energy crystals to the first question was maybe him saying too much already. He assumed the FBI had at least the decency to send someone with basic knowledge about the EPF and what is going on within the TCRI. It looks like he misjudged. Human politics is something he has yet still to get used to. "The TCRI has a great number of advanced security measures in place to protect everything that is stored inside. Not everyone can just walk in and out without a high-level permission. The perpetrator was either an individual from within or someone who gathered all the knowledge necessary to access it." He pauses briefly to consider whether or not he should bring up another detail about the case. In the end, he decides to do it, but mostly to have something to keep his partner busy with while he's checking for any stolen objects inside the TCRI, once they arrive there.

"There have been multiple protests one week prior to the attack. Citizens voicing their discontent about how the state wastes money on 'questionable researches'. The TCRI was one of the buildings the protesters camped. I do not believe that there is a connection, but maybe you can take a closer look to that anyway?"

As it turned out, they hadn't told her much about the Earth Protection Force, only that her skills would be needed there. Fish was used to dealing with very human kind of monsters. Serial killers didn't usually really come from out of space.

She was out of her element, and she didn't like it very much. In fact, she had half a mind to call her boss and tell him that she'd be much more useful back at the Behavioral Science Unit, instead of here dealing with...

Energy crystals?

"Not much," she replied honestly, because if she was gonna do it, then she at least wanted to be kept in the loop, "I don't usually deal with these kinds of things, and frankly I'm not sure what I can do here to help. So, just tell me what's happening and what you need from me, and I'll just do my best."

[⚙️] Grum just shrugs their tentacles. They really don't want to be bothered actually, but maybe it is the fact other Utrom are involved and, well... it's always complicated if someone wants to like a person but they end up disliking their guts instead.

In the end, the Utrom doesn't want to remain too hung-up on the topic about the other Rick and takes the opportunity to move on for good. The question and suggestion both have them think for a good moment. Specifically the latter surprises them a little.

"Utrom typically specialize in the profession they excel at and remain focused on that", they explain. "But don't get me wrong, I love being an engineer, I'd just like to expand a little on it?" Especially if Grum intends to open up their own business someday. It is more of a distant dream though, but they entertain that thought since a while already.

"There have been no appealing opportunities so far. But, if you really want me to hang out with you and learn from you, I... I would enjoy that." Would there be a catch to it, though?

That was a weird way to put it. At least in Rick's opinion. He knew that other versions of himself could be a handful, but he didn't think it was that big of a deal. Maybe because he didn't spend that much time around them to get a real sense of it. Who knows.

"Eh, i-it happens, Ricks tend to go for the throat more often than not, so don't take it too personally when one of them doesn't like you," He could go on but he'd rather take the flask back and drink some more from it.

With a burp, he continued on. "Wh-What's stopping you? Got a family? Kids? Because I-I don't see why you can't just take classes o-or better yet, hang out with me and I'll teach you all there is to know about science."

[👣]  Shredder anticipated the incoming attack, but not with such force. Rather than trying to block, he leaps to the side just in time, his movements fluid and controlled. The ground where he had stood a moment ago trembles as the sword strikes with ferocious force, creating a deep crater in its wake. Soil and debris erupt into the air, obscuring Shredder's vision momentarily.

He is not pleased at all, but he is already on the move again, darting agilely through the chaos with heightened senses. "Your flashy moves may dazzle the untrained eye, but they won't save you from my precision and skill. I spent years training my body to become a weapon myself!"

Trained or not, he will have to get more resourceful to defeat his nemesis and take revenge. And not even a stubborn blacksmith won't stand in his way!

"Prepare to face the consequences of challenging the Shredder!" Despite the acrid taste of dust filling his lungs and the sting of debris in his eyes, the Ninja Master unleashes a flurry of blows in an attempt to exploit his adversary's momentary lapse in defense.

It’d be worth it… once he saw how the fellow use his weaponry wisely. His calm eyes watched as they made the first move towards his very still stance. He took notice of on how they knew how great of a damage it would be if they were to make a different against his long sword. A very observant move.

Well, even if they try to get him on the ground… Sterling would only take a simple hop up, up, and even more towards the sky, hovering a feet away from the striking warrior.

“You have a keen eye on what is a disadvantage right infront of you, yet I wonder if you will notice your own soon enough..”

His turn now.

He came from above just to come back down, both of his hands gripping tightly around the hilt of his sword, and the blade hitting the very ground below Shredder’s feet to attempt to knock them down with a small explosive crater.

Hypno with heather house!

Man, I haven't drawn Hypno in a hot minute. So I went and traced a screenshot with that color palette first to get a bit of a feeling again for him and also to figure out where to place the colors. Which was fun to do, actually. I ultimately swapped the colors of his suit and bow/turban because that made more sense actually. I'll drop the traced piece here as well, just because.
