Mr. George Yang owner of Golden Arches Development Corporation “GADC” (McDonald’s Philippines).“GADC” is a domestic corporation engaged in the operations and franchising of quick-service restaurant business under the McDonald's brand in the Philippines and in accordance with the master franchise agreement with McDonald's Corporation. It is a fast-food restaurant business.
 According to the branch manager of McDonald PH Limketkai Branch that the owner was determined to become an entrepreneur. “ I wrote interest of franchisee in America and it was granted after two years. I started the business because of my passion and determination to bring McDonald’s to the Philippines. There were a lot of challenges such as there were a lot of pool bidders for McDonald’s. It had been an arduous one-year trek from the time he had won the franchise to the day the first store opened.
The first McDonald’s store in the Philippines opened in 1981 in Morayta. “People were lining up, waiting to come in. So many people knew of the brand. We had to close the door to keep more people from coming into the store; otherwise, it would just burst. It was overwhelming and very satisfying because of all the time, hard work, and effort to get to that point.”
Tumblr media
What we have learned is that we have to pursue our dream and passion. Keep believing in yourself and maybe one day you’ll become one of the business owners.

“Success is not final; failure is not fatal; It is the courage to continue that counts.”
-Winston S. Churchill
 Online Shop/Selling
“I sell ready to wear clothes; beauty products and I also have a grocery store.
I started the grocery store way back 2018 while clothes and beauty products are my pandemic blessing; it started last June of 2020.
I will focus on the dry goods and beauty products. I have to order it from my suppliers in Luzon and some were in Mindanao and then I would sell it online, eventually, I was able to make friends. My circle got bigger and it came to my mind to look for resellers. I approached my cousin to get items from me with the condition that after a week she will return all the unsold items and then remit the amount of the items that were sold. And from 1 reseller currently I already have 15 active resellers.
Tumblr media
Being in the business is not easy. You have to endure disappointments and extremely stretch your patience. I find it difficult handling different personalities. Major problem that I encounter is that resellers who are not adhering to the agreement. I have learned a lot from my experience. I am very happy in this venture I was able to gradually organize my system. I was able to help a lot of people who were jobless especially at this time of pandemic. It is a sense of fulfillment.”
-Ms. Sheila Laine Cuello
 What we learn from this story is that what ever it takes, just keep going and don’t ever give up. We may fall at first or maybe we gain something at first but what ever it is there are still challenges that will follow. Just learn to accept failures because it is part of being in a business. Just believe in yourself. Kudos!

Amaro Sari-Sari Store and Carenderia
The sari-sari store is one of the smallest MSME (micro, small and medium enterprises) units we have in the economy. Because of its limited capacity, it will carry only what's fast-moving—what's needed in the barangay,” Tan said. “People wouldn't need to go to the wet market or grocery.
Mrs. Virginia Amaro owner of the Sari-Sari store and Carenderia. She started her Sari-Sari Store months ago while her Carenderia started 7 years ago. She started it after her loan was approved and used the money as her capital to start her business. At first the business was running smoothly as she was expected. Then again there are challenges that she encounters.
Tumblr media
Challenges she encountered doing business:
       * Many depts.
       * Marketing
       * Throwing away dishes
       * Others unable to pay their depts.
 In business we can learn different ways to run our chosen business. We may grow, we may fail but if we have a goal then we must stand ang fight for it again. There are no impossible things to those who believe in their capabilities. Everyone Goes through hardship before achieving the desired success. Kudos!

Ice rice trading was established on March 5, 2020. Selling only a maximum of 25 sacks of a local variety rice called Valencia rice with a startup capital of P85, 000.00.  The business set a maximum stock level of 25 sacks and 5 sacks as a minimum stock level. Under the business expansion plan is additional capital, location, additional varieties of rice both local and imported varieties of rice, increasing maximum and minimum stock levels of both local and imported stocks. Ice Rice trading was DTI registered with a business registration number of 198*** and City (LGU) Registered with a business permit number of 2021-28***. CHEWS LR
“Our current business is food station. First, we sell ice candy and posted it online, most of our buyers are just a friend of ours, until they spread the word like a mayonnaise then time comes that we have saved a lot so we decided to open a mini store for them to sit back, relax and enjoy the food that we served. At that moment thank God we sell not just ice candy but also siomai, siopao, tapioca and milk tea. We also do delivery. It started when my father died last May 19, 2020, he had a store before and we wanted to continue his doing that’s why our store named “Chews LR” L for loel and R for Richard. Making your own business is really a risky thing to do because you don’t know if it will continue or not specially in this pandemic. Well the challenges that we faced are those stores beside us. It started to boom on June 13,2020.
-Ms. Loella

These entrepreneurs are proof that  there is no test that you cannot pass, just trust and you will achieve success. They did their job to grow their business and get to know other people. Despite the test of destiny, they still managed to get up and fight again. Just keep dreaming and at the same time be a doer not a thinker. Possibility comes to those who work for it. Kudos!

“To be successful, you have to have your heart in your business, and your business in your heart”

 Piso Net & Piso Wi-Fi
Mr. Rommel Lagria, 31 years old, Owner of Melroms Internet Café Taking a course of Information technology during his college years. After he graduated his parents gave him a 70,000pesos as a graduation gift. He used the money as a start-up of his business. Since internet is improving in today’s generation and 70,000pesos is a good start to invest in an internet café he decided to assemble 3 units. During his first 3 months in business, he was worried because he can’t get a stable internet connection.  The following months was good but then again, the downflow of his business came from the costumer itself (children) slamming mouse and keyboards because of the slow connection. The huge tax from city hall and when the pandemic came his income plummeted. But it is not the end of everything. May be today is not the right time to start his own business but I know that there’s always a right time to build another one. Entrepreneurship is not always having a good outcome in the end, there is a time when profits slump. But this is not an obstacle to stop doing business. Do this as an inspiration in building your business again.

          “Before I started my small business, we sell food with my sister in the street through the sick of pandemic. Because we don’t have any jobs in my company so that I started to cook food and sell it and at the same time continuing my studies. But it was failed, because of deficit money. That’s the moment when we risk everything that we have in this new business. Starting-up this business doubtlessly and it is amazing because today my chosen business was appreciated.”
