Practice your coping skills when youā€™re not in crisis. When weā€™re in crisis, it can be so much harder to think straight. Please practice and plan for coping skills so that youā€™re prepared. Even write down a crisis plan including a step by step instruction guide for what coping skills to use so that itā€™s easier when youā€™re overwhelmed.

although I get where itā€™s coming from, the response of ā€œhating is free tooā€ to the saying ā€œit costs nothing to be kindā€ I feel misses the point a little bit. obviously having positive or negative interactions with people will always cost nothing. What matters is that the effect that kindness can have on those around you can be so large and travel on to so many other people that you wonder why it doesnā€™t cost you anything to do so.

I feel like something I donā€™t see talked about very often in terms of autism is emotional regulation from the perspective of autistic people
you always hear about how hard it is for parents of autistic children but never how hard it is for the autistic individual
like yes I know getting so angry I feel like I need to scream and kick and cry because I canā€™t remember where I put my phone is an overreaction to the situation, but all I can feel in my entire body is anger. and maybe itā€™s because all day I was around people and loud noises and losing something was just the breaking point, I was already overstimulated but this is what made me feel like my entire world was falling apart.
itā€™s hard to understand how to regulate your own emotions when youā€™re autistic and overwhelmed and itā€™s so often this physical pain in your chest like what the fuck do I do with all that.

btw i have intention on my kindness. i know the possible consequences, i know what i means to chose to be kind. it's not something that sparks inside of me because of my supposedly good nature, it's intentional and it is taught behavior. kindness without intention is naivety.

btw the majority of your life will be lived as a adult. yeah i don't make the rules. go have fun in your 40s or 70s or whatever. no one expects you to accomplish everything at 17 or 27. you've got time and in the meantime get some life experience, it will pay off
