Day 3 - Tagisang Robotics
As I am writing this, I can hear the cheers from the crowd. the second match of the finals has just ended. Every gasp, every scream is heard here at the SMX Convention Center. The tension here is thick you can cut it with a knife. This is what we've been waiting for. But we're not a part of it. Our team didn't make the top four. But fortunately, one of the teams included (Pasig City Science High School) picked Malayan to be its ally. We won our first match in the semi-finals, but lost the next ones. What was first disbelief, then anger, became numb. We will not be heading to the finals. Losing is never a great experience. It is however, a humbling one. Team Sindak will continue to hold its head up high, remain as steady as we were and smile. The sun will be coming down in a while. We will chase after it once more. This time, with a couple of new friends who helped make this experience memorable. Experience. That's what I was told we won. And it is worth more than any trophy, more than any cash price. We came, we did our best. And that's really what matters in the end.

Day 2 - Tagisang Robotics
"Is it working?" *switches Jumbot on* "ohshi."
Minutes before the competition, we found out our robot wasn't working. The team scrambled around trying to fix it as we were scheduled for the second match. Thankfully, the problem only involved loose wires and were fixed easily.
The rest of the day passed by in a similar fashion. Sharp bursts of panic to be followed by calm. Basically a pretty stressful day. In between all the eating, McDonald's delivery problems and even more eating, we managed to squeeze in some fun bonding time as a team.
We also found new friends in the Manila Science Team- Blue Primes and the La Salle Greenhills - Team Maginoo. We found out that being allies, having common problems and some pretty girls can jumpstart a friendship. :)
As for the matches, 5 wins -1 loss !!! (at least for now). The organizers are going to give us our final standing tomorrow. The team was frustrated at how one of our matches were called. So together with the MaSci Blue Primes (who were our allies in that match) we talked to the organizers. By showing them the video footage that earned us a "default" loss, we managed to turn things around.
With our problem fixed, only one thing still remained to be done. Run across an empty parking lot and chase after the setting sun. It was after all, a pretty darn good day.

Day 1 - Tagisang Robotics
Team Sindak's Tagisang Robotics (day 1) involved jolibee, a lot of tape, fallen dividers, foam problems, "tanggal" and "taob" moments, inspections and a lot of practice games.
Before heading out to the SMX convention center, the team made some last minute additions to Jumbot. After a lot of running around the school, we finally got everything we needed and made our way to the MOA Complex.
Once we got there, we found our home for the next few days. We hung up our school's banner, our team's logo and our robot's logo. After that, it was only a matter of waiting for our match to be called. We saw a lot of robots that were certainly at the top of their game. However, we also saw how Jumbot can handle these guys.
Day 1 was all about having a feel for the game. We saw our competition and found new friends in some of them. Things are heating up in the SMX center, and Team Sindak will certainly be part of it.

Apprehension, Anticipation and Anxiety
Apprehension, anticipation and anxiety. 3 words that accurately describe what the team is feeling right now. With the games starting tomorrow, team Sindak is very much feeling the competition.
On our last day of preparation, we put the final details on the robot's aesthetics, checked the wiring and put it through its final tests. We also did some practice runs with both the human and robot shooter. Jumbot still has some chinks in his armor but hopefully, everything will be smoothened out tomorrow morning.
Let me add one more word to describe our what our team is feeling. Confident. We feel confident with our structure. We feel confident with our design. We feel confident about Jumbot. But most of all, we feel confident about our team.
Sindak can be translated as awe, fear or terror. Be cautious, as our team is planning to live up to our name.
To be the awe, fear and terror of our opposition.

Jumbot 2.0
The first design our team came up with was bulky, heavy and all together, not a winning design. So the team went out to Angeles, Pampanga again to make an entirely new structure from scrap metal and whatever materials we had on hand.

Right now, our new structure is sitting in our school's faculty room. The tests we will run it through will be done as soon as possible. Hopefully, Jumbot 2.0 will survive. And live to fight another day.
