Hi everyone.
As many of you might have noticed I haven’t posted for a while. I felt like some time away from social media and to be honest I am probably not going to be posting as much as I used to. Sorry if that disappoints some people.
I wanted to post this message to share my thoughts on a new product I have been trying. I am not sure how new the product actually is but it’s the first time I have tried it. I am hoping my review might be useful to someone.
Tena Men Premuim Fit - Level 4
I have never been a big fan of pull-up style nappies. They seem like a good idea at first and I must admit at the start of my incontinence I did want to try them as they are potentially more like underwear. However the reality did not live up to my hopes. I found them not absorbent or secure enough to keep my clothes dry. They would often say horribly and the only way I could get them to work would be to change the pull-up very frequently. Which brings me to the next issue, they are a nightmare to change. Yes you can tear the sides of the used one, but you generally need to take your shoes and trousers off to put the new one on. When you are having to do this many times a day it gets really tiring.
So If I don’t like them so much, why did I try these, you are probably asking. Well more than one person have recommended I try them. Not as a replacement for my normal nappies and certainly not for night use. But people told me that they are really discrete and whilst they only have limited capacity would perhaps be good for going to the gym.
Anyway I finally thought I would give it a try and here are my thoughts.
Firstly the look. The sales pitch talks about a “Underwear design, with masculine and discreet style”. Hmmmm 🤔. I will let you guys have a look at the pics and make your own mind up. My view is that they don’t look like underwear at all. Ok the overall shape might be loosely described as underwear-like, but that’s about it. The white absorbent pad is extremely obvious and I am not sure what the grey lines are trying to achieve.
Next - discretion. This is an area where they score very well for me. They are basically invisible under most normal clothes. They are completely silent and very comfortable. The waistband is normally low enough to be hidden under trousers but if it were to poke above, I am not sure it’s immediately obvious that it’s not normal underwear. It would probably depend how much showed.
Absorbency and leak protection. There was another surprise for me here too. The pants don’t have internal leak guards which initially really worried me. I was really expecting this to cause leaking even when only moderately wet. To be fair this wasn’t the case at all, if the pad is only moderately wet then there was no leaks at all. I don’t have a very big bladder capacity at all anymore so I tend not to wet a lot all in one go. So in terms of absorbency I would say after one reasonable wetting I would have no worries about it leaking. Anything more than that then I would have bigger concerns. Which i guess is probably what it’s designed for.
Wet comfort - again I would say this area was better than expected, but sagging does eventually become an issue. I would definitely normally wear some tighter fitting boxer trunks over the top to help with this.
So in conclusion I have to admit to being surprised at how they performed. They were extremely comfortable, very discrete and provided reliable protection for short periods of time.
For me Is it something I will continue to use, I am not sure, probably for very specific scenarios. I would say it would be an excellent option to use to go to the gym, but I often go to the gym either at my lunch break or straight from work. So I would have to find somewhere to change into it before heading to the gym. As it’s a pull-up that is not a quick job.
However for people who have less severe forms of incontinence, or need an option where discretion is of upmost importance, then these are worth a try.
If you have any questions please let me know.
