~{ 7) Gemstone:  Definitely heliotrope, also called bloodstone. It’s technically a form of green jasper with bits of red hemamite in it. Edward relates it to this particular Wrath not only because of it’s colour scheme, but its common meanings as well. Heliotrope used to be (and sometimes still is) used in forms of divination, and is often significant of protection over a child or youth. It usually comes in foresty greens with smatterings of crimson and black, but it doesn’t usually have a very bright contrast between them. Despite having a dark appearance and being called a bloodstone, heliotrope is frequently utilized in healing and purifying processes— and while Ed would never say it, he’s observed the sense of calm certain people get around Wrath (Izumi, Al, etc), and that’s one of the reasons he connects the two in his head.  

10) Emotion:  Oooh, Ed is so conflicted over this kid. Conflicted probably doesn’t even begin to cover it. Ed’s still got a little bit of maturing to do himself, and although he’s aware that Wrath isn’t involved with anything that would particularly cause harm anymore, it’s really hard for him to let go of that residual anger he’s so used to feeling towards him. That anger doesn’t have fuel anymore, basically. He’s stuck between genuinely wanting to attempt civility but being too stubborn to do so. A big awkward mix of frustration, immature rivalry, confusion, and— and maybe even a bit of sympathy or empathy, at Wrath’s inescapable situation with Truth and the Gate. If things were different or if situations changed, Ed would probably be extremely protective of him.

11) Quote:  “Do I not destroy my enemies when I make them my friends?”  (It’s a quote said by Abraham Lincoln, so the timelines and real-life-events don’t add up exactly, but let’s suspend belief here just a little bit). Ed associates this quote to Wrath in a bit of a tongue-in-cheek way, as in his eyes, it refers to the way Wrath can seemingly get anyone with even a sliver of maternal/paternal instinct to become quite attached to him very quickly. And yes, Edward knows that Wrath may not be consciously doing it— it’s just something he’s noticed over time. He actually finds it a bit amusing. }~
