kevin taking jean's hand in his and turning his arm around to assess his wounds and asking him to make a fist and sighing in relief when he can like he's done this song and dance a million times before with jean. checking him after an incident and making sure he's still in one piece and jean allowing it because he loves him desperately and it's the only reprieve he has from all the abuse. the only time someone handles him with care. and it stings because he has to tell himself that kevin only cares because if jean can't play exy he's no use to anyone and if he's no use to anyone he'll be killed and kevin will be left alone and kevin desperately doesn't want to be left alone. but he's also the reason jean gets to keep his language even if it was only ever whispered in secret. and he's the reason jean had a collection of something to treasure, even of it was just magnets and postcards. and he's also 90% of the reason jean is alive because he made a promise and he couldn't bear to leave kevin even though in the end kevin left him behind. and even after that kind of betrayal he still has unwavering trust in kevin and goes where he tells him to so he'll be safe and defends his name when he needs to. because it's kevin. and maybe he can't be everything to jean but he will always be something to him.

The King's Men - Epilogue

Day: Saturday, April 27th / 28th* Time: 3:10 AM EST

Neil waits off to one side while the others file out, knowing Andrew will be the last to leave. Wymack knows better than to stick around and follows his Foxes down the hall. Andrew brings Neil's duffel to him. Neil takes it but drops it off to one side. Andrew studies it for a moment, then shrugs out of his own bag and puts a hand to the wall near Neil's head. "Your close calls are getting old," Andrew says. "I thought you knew how to run." Neil affects confusion. "I thought you told me to stop running." "Survival tip: no one likes a smart mouth." "Except you," Neil reminds him. A year ago Neil had been a scared nobody, hating himself for signing the Foxes' contract and counting down days until he moved in with Wymack. Tonight he is the starting striker for the first-ranked team in the NCAA. In two years he'll be captain, and in four he'll graduate from Palmetto State. Neil will find a professional team first and then fight tooth and nail to make the cut for Court. Neil can already imagine the weight of an Olympics medal around his neck. He doesn't even care what color it is so long as it is his. Better than that bright future is what he already has: a court that will always be home, a family who'll never give up on him, and Andrew, who for once hasn't wasted their time denying that this thing between them might actually mean something to both of them. Neil didn't even notice the silence at first, too distracted by his dizzying thoughts. Now he can't help but smile and pull Andrew in. This is everything he wanted, everything he needed, and Neil is never letting go.

Just did something that has been procrastinated for 19 years, which considering that I'm exactly 19 and a half today i'd consider to be fairly impressive.

So, where does Tara go at the end of Tabula Rasa? She was clearly shown as living full-time at the Summers house before she packs up some things in a cardboard box and heads out into the night...but where does that leave here? In other words, did she go to Anya's apartment or Spike's crypt?

Jean Moreau be like Neil Josten was supposed to be my best friend and I consider that loss to be one of the worst things that ever happened to me. He's one of the select few who I trust to take me and my problems seriously and make good on his promises to me. Unfortunately he is also the fucking antichrist and everything he does is calibrated to spike my blood pressure.

I think this is officially the most notes I've ever gotten on a post, except my Spike from BtVS coming to lick your house one, but that was over the span of several months, this one has had rougly 24 hours and is already over 700!

Okay but the fact that AFTG, a selfpublished bookseries, therefore without any official advertising whatsoever, has been trending almost constantly for the last, like, five days!? And frequently at first place!? A feat several well advertised tv-series can't pull off!? Incredible. I love me some one-sided kevjean, but I want that to be in the flashbacks. I want Jean to be cursing his younger self for loving Kevin. In TSC, I want Jean to be the #1 Kevin hater. I want the one-sided love to turn into one-sided beef. I want Kevin to be chilling at PSU, minding his business, while Jean is trying to explode him with his mind from across the country.
