Overdraft*
Opened 14 December 2015 converted from Nat West Bank. Apparently the bank vault remains. It's a small downstairs single room shop conversion, simply laid out with basic wooden bench and tables. The plaster on the wall left rough and brickwork unfinished. Along with the grotty looking bins behind the bar is properly why they only achieve a 4 star hygiene rating. I asked for any bitter type ale and served a Crop Circle Ale very light and not to my taste. Food offering Tacos. Another place I will not return to. Review 2023.

Brown’s *
Dating from the 1860s, a simple L-shaped bar refurbished & reopened February 2016. The pub advertises on it web site and on the pub side it opens at 12 but did not open until gone 1 o’clock. Disappointing pub with no cask ales, settled with a bottle beer. No reason to return. Menus but no sign of food. Review 2023.

Cricketers Arms*
Cricketers Arms formally known as the Bridge Inn, New Bridge Inn and Woolston Railway Hotel. Large pub next to the Itchen Bridge roundabout. The large pub is now a single bar inside with a pool table, two dartboards and several TVs.At the front outside are bench tables and a covered drinking area is to the side. A large function room is attached to the rear of the pub. The bar looks very dated and would benefit from a good make over. No cask ales so settled for a bottle beer. No reason to return. No sign of any food service. Review 2023.

The Duke on the Test ****
This site has been home to an inn since at least 1583. The first known as The Three Tuns. The name changed to The Dukes Head around 1748 and it is thought this might be after The Duke of Cumberland in 1875 as well as being known as the Admiral Vernon at one point. The pub has been completely refurbished low beamed ceilings, wooden floors and vintage pictures with a large L shaped bar.To the left is a seating area away from the main restaurant to the right is a large wood burner with a snug area on the other side. An impressive open plan extension with high pitch roof holds the main dinning area. Only bitter on tap was Flacks. Review 2023.

Cuckoo Inn **
The Cuckoo Inn reopened in March 2022 aftet a long period of closure and uncertainty. Friendly real ale pub situated in the Wiltshire countryside. You enter the pub through a small room which then connects to two more small rooms, in between a small hatch serves as the bar.All ales served straight from the barrel no lines involved. You order from a blackboard then the bartender disappears into another room where on the back wall a number of barrels are held. I asked for a bitter but ended up with a very light beer I think it was called Piddle. I can imagine when busy it would be very difficult to get served. Plenty of outside space. Review 2023.

Fishers Pond**
The history of Fishers Pond in Eastleigh can be traced back over 900 years. The first records of fish farming on the site date back to the 11th century, when the pond was used to raise carp for the monks of Winchester Cathedral.Formerly a tea room called Fisher's Cafe, the building later became Fisher's Pond Waterside Pub and Dining Room a large wood panelled building with contemporary décor inside. The pub is mainly a restaurant serving a modern English menu, but there is also a spacious comfy seating area by the bar. The restaurant area extends outside to a large patio overlooking a small lake the Fisher's Pond.No cask bitter on visit so settled for 1/2 Hobgoblin Gold. Review 2023.

Phoenix Inn****
The name "Phoenix Inn" is thought to be a reference to the pub's ability to "rise from the ashes." The pub was originally built in 1620, but it was destroyed by fire in 1755. It was rebuilt a few years later, and it has been operating ever since. The bar is split level with parquet floor, wooden beams and a welcoming log fire during the winter months, decorated with old local photos, old beer bottles, tankards, wooden ships and barrel ends on the wood panelled wall at the far end. At the rear is a skittle alley function room which is also used for dining during busy periods. Outside near the entrance a covered patio area and pub garden at the rear. Bitter on tap Old Speckle Hen. Review 2023

The Gamekepper **
The Gamekepper located in a quiet country road in Woodlands has been a pub since 1852. Formally known as The Royal Oak. I wasn’t made very welcome. The pub was empty, I felt as though I was in the way. Every where you looked was decorated with flowers with dinning areas either side of the bar. A large garden and children’s play area off the small conservatory also covered in flowers and fairy lights. Bitter on tap 6X. Review 2023.

The Royal Oak***
The Royal Oak in Fritham is one of the oldest pubs in the New Forest, dating back to the 17th century. It is a thatched cottage with red-brick additions, and is located on the edge of the village, close to the New Forest National Park. The pub is named after the Royal Oak, the tree where King Charles II hid after the Battle of Worcester in 1651. It is said that Charles II visited the pub on several occasions, and that he even carved his initials into the bar. A number of cask ales sat a on a rack on the back wall of the bar. I chose a Peacocks Barefaced. The pub is very small with three dining areas, they don’t take bookings so it’s a bit of pot luck. Very busy on my visit some customers left not wanting to wait. Tony’s frying machine serving fish & chips comes every Saturday from 6pm throughout the summer. With a van serving woodfired pizza on Tuesday and Friday. Only ploughman’s on the menu but done with home made ingredients. £12. Review 2023.
