Current villagers: Tangy, Bella, Lolly, Diana, Flo, Marina, Kiki, Rocco, Sprocket, Deena, Dom, Mitzi, Bunnie, Punchy, Mitzi, Deli, Shino, Sylvana, Plucky, and O'Hare.
The name comes from a Convo I had with Tangy and assuming everyone does weird things in their basements.

My shops for this island I turned into a little farmers market, several of the villagers have their own little stalls to sell wares! I think it came out super cute, it's one of my favorite spots on this island.

In New Horizons, if the game can't load an NPC due to their referenced model name being invalid, or for other reasons, the game will instead load a naked, unnamed Bob in their place as a failsafe. This was likely a dummy NPC used for testing reasons.

I noticed something similar myself where certain characters keep popping up. Not only the first time I'm searching for villagers, but even the times after when I'm doing a search after a villager move out.
That's how Tangy ended up on my one island. I was trying to have an animal crossing experience without her, but she kept showing up on islands (which has like a 1/23 chance of happening) then showed up at my campsite (this is over a period of six months mind you) and I just concluded that even the game knows I cannot have animal crossing without her.
now that i've been island hopping for an eternity a few days i think i keep seeing the same handful of villagers constantly. each new irl day it feels like it's the same villagers on the islands in slightly different order maybe but that can't be right, right? so i'm making this post to start keeping track of who i see
