Tamuna Karumidze is a multimedia artist born in Tbilisi (Georgia) in 1975, where she currently lives and works. She had obtained a Master Degree of Audio/Visual media Design at The University of Arts of Berlin (Germany) in 2008. She’s interested in exploring marginalized urban tribes and pictures them against the backdrop of socio-cultural conventions. Her practice expands to cinema, photography and one of the kind garments. Her video works have been screened at various International Film Festivals, Art Forums and Exhibitions and her latest movie project “When the Earth Seems to Be Light” (in collaboration with Dato Meskhi and Salome Machaidze) have won IDFA Award in 2015.
