Frank Brunel was the “father” of the Chosen, a job which came with a whole host of responsibilities. For sixteen years he followed the directions of the Church of Martel, raising Colette with the decorum and professional detachment expected of all the Chosen’s family members. But with Colette’s journey of World Regeneration on the horizon, Frank couldn’t let his job end without expressing his true feelings at least once.

Author’s Note: There’s a rule that everything I do has to relate to Code Geass at some point. That’s just how things are. Titles taken from Far Away by Nickelback.

Sorey looked out the window as the countryside flew by to the steady rattle of the train over the tracks. He swayed absently with it, not really seeing the countryside as Rolance flew by. He was sure that they would be hitting the border with Lohgrin soon, which meant that they would be that much closer to their destination. Which meant that they were closer to when he would need to act in the service of the empire that he had pledged himself to.

Lloyd would make sure to stay by her side, even when everyone said she was already gone.

Fandom: Tales of Symphonia Characters/Pairings: Lloyd Irving/Colette Brunel, Raine Sage, Genis Sage Rating: G Mirror Links: AO3 Notes: For Tales Whump Week, Day 7, “Stay with Me.” Bit of a tragic romance, fair warning. (I’m sorry).

It was Lloyd’s role to help make camp for the night.

He would find a place underneath the wide-branched trees, the moonlight seeping through the space between the leaves. He’d make sure to put out the campfire when it was time, stomping out the ash and in turn, the smoke. He’d roll out their sleeping packs, always making two, although one would remain virtually unwrinkled by morning. He’d feed Noishe when the dog-creature came back from his wanderings, scratching behind his ears, Lloyd brightly smiling as he did so.

Once all that was done, Lloyd would look forward, to where Colette stood, staring out into the night sky. The soft hue from her wings would paint the grass beneath her, making the stalks turn dark violet. Before he called out to her, he would always hesitate.

“Colette, we should go to bed now.”

But she’d been awake for the past three years.

“The sacrifice of one single person, the Chosen, will save the world. Are you saying that you would choose the Chosen’s soul over the entire world?”

Its not super clear, but I tried to show black tape over their mouths - Just some attempted symbolism that neither of them has a say in their fate, from the day they were born they were deprived of their futures and their own choices.

The Monster (Tales Whump Week Day 6: Deprived)

Author’s Note: A continuation of an idea from Sormik Week, and also based off of Tales of Zestira the X.

Warnings: Spoilers for Tales of Berseria.

Things had been strange since Sorey had gotten back.

Mikleo hadn’t expected them to be the same, Sorey had been stuck within the Earthpulse with Heldalf for a long time. He didn’t know what Sorey had been doing during that time. He didn’t even know what was in the Earthpulse. All he knew was that Sorey was back and that it would take time for things to return to normal. So much had changed after all, but he had looked forward to that too. He had dreamed about showing Sorey around the world for all the years he had been missing.

Now he dreamed about other things, mostly Sorey calling for help.

fandom: tales of symphonia ship: zelos/lloyd (ish?) word count: 3k rating: t for: tales whump week [day five: sick]

Zelos could probably count the times in his life that he’s been sick on his fingers.

The benefits of high-end living is that he has always had access to the best medical care in the world. Not to mention, he was less likely to be exposed to the bugs which commonly wracked the Meltokio slums or other similar areas. He didn’t live a sheltered life, per se, after his mother’s death, but he certainly never had to worry about the passing cold becoming fatal.

He suspects that his aversion to wintery weather has probably made him more susceptible to its effects, though. In their initial travels, it wasn’t so bad; while they stopped in Flanoir multiple times, they were never there for very long, and though the cold and the snow were less than pleasurable, they were tolerable. This time, however, it is just Zelos and Lloyd, and they have been stopping in cities for longer stretches of time in order to be as thorough in their journey as possible.

All that into account, it shouldn’t be any wonder when Zelos starts coughing.

Still, even when Lloyd asks if he’s okay, he brushes it off.

“I don’t get sick,” he insists. “It’s probably just something in the air.”

Lloyd lets it go, but he still seems to watch Zelos a little more closely after that.
