Music producer/trackmaker/DJ/digital artist working in Japan.TAKEO SUZUKI started his career as a trackmaker/DJ in the 90's with the club jazz unit "O.M.U.". He released a CD on Nippon Columbia. He later released a full self-produced album on the German label 99.He also participated as a DJ in "Jazz Not Jazz," a large-scale jazz event in Switzerland.After leaving O.M.U., he took a break from music and resumed his activities around 2020.Currently, he is actively producing ambient music, techno, psychill music, and other experimental music, and releases his works regularly on bandcamp.

Ambient Buddhism LIVE (DJ Set) April 13, 2024 | Japanese ambient music , Buddhism | YouTube
I have released a live (DJ set) video on my YouTube channel.
It is a DJ set using the soundtrack from the album "Ambient Buddhism 2".
I use Apple's Logic Pro X as my live software, and I use the Live Loops feature to control multiple sounds. It is easy to use for an inexpensive piece of equipment, and I like its compact size.
For the audio interface, I use a ZOOM AMS24. This is another inexpensive piece of equipment, but it's my favorite because it sounds rather good and is compact. It has a loopback function and two outputs, so it is very useful for live performances.
For video, I use iPhone 11 and iPhone 7 for filming. I would like to get a dedicated camera, but these are good enough to shoot with, so I have no plans to buy a new camera at this time. For video editing, I use Final Cut Pro, which is useful, as is Logic Pro X, because it works well enough on my slightly older Apple computer (M1 Macbook Air).
Live videos are shot in my home studio.

As a result of the Ambient Buddhism 3 album art survey conducted on YouTube, we have decided to release the album with this design.
This art was created with AI in Canva Pro. even though it was generated with AI, it was quite a task to define the image and generate it. I also repeatedly made edits based on the generated image, and finally created the current design.
The album is released only as a digital album, but I am particular about the album art, and it always takes a long time to produce. In some cases, it probably takes longer than when making music.

Abstract Street Photography by TAKEO SUZUKI
Taken in a suburb of Tokyo, Japan. The camera used was a Ricoh GR.
I shoot the streets when I go out, and one day I wanted to process the scenery I was watching. Instead of retouching the data of the photos I had taken, I decided to try to capture a different street than usual by using some ingenuity when shooting. The idea was simply to take long-second shots, but I feel something special in the act of adjusting the time and capturing the street.
I use RAW development software to edit the photos I take until I am satisfied with them as a work of art. As a result, I believe I have created a work that makes people feel something when they see it.
The camera I use for shooting is a Ricoh GR, which offers a high degree of freedom and perfect descriptive qualities. It also has the greatest advantage of being compact and lightweight. I like to use this camera to shoot intuitively without looking through the viewfinder. Actually, I don't have it with me right now because it is already broken, but I would like to get it again.
I have not released this piece anywhere yet, but I am thinking of selling it soon.

Ambient Buddhism LIVE (Ambient Techno DJ MIX) Mar 30 ,2024 | Logic Pro X , Liveloops
I have released a video of the live performance on my YouTube channel on March 31, 2024 at 7:00 AM Japan time.
It is a live performance of ambient techno DJMIX using tracks 2 and 6 from the album "Ambient Buddhism".
The filming location was my production room at home.
I filmed at home because it is not easy to find a place in Japan where I can do the activity.
The equipment used is M1 Macbook Air with Logic Pro X. For audio interface, I use ZOOM's AMS24 for live streaming. The camera I used was an iPhone 11. I am poor, so I use minimal equipment for my productions.
I am always conscious of the flow of time and space in my live performances. I feel the vibrations of the sound and choose the appropriate mix based on my intuition. Therefore, I like to mix while playing loudly on speakers.
The soundtrack of this video can be downloaded for free with a YouTube membership. Please consider it.

Ambient Buddhism LIVE (DJ MIX) March 16 ,2024 by TAKEO SUZUKI
Live video (DJ MIX) of Ambient Buddhism on YouTube channel.
Three songs from the album "Ambient Buddhism" are used as sources. I mixed nature sounds, birdsong, and percussion samples to create a mystical atmosphere.
For the mix, I used Logic Pro X, which I use as my main DAW. I played the material on a loop and mixed it in real time while adding effects. I also added a few Tibetan esoteric and gamelan records using turntables.

The live performance took place in TAKEO SUZUKI's private studio for less than an hour.

Ambient Buddhism LIVE Set (Ambient Percussion) by TAKEO SUZUKI | Japanese Ambient Music
Live ambient music videos on our YouTube channel.
These are live videos in my ongoing Ambient Buddhism series of improvisations inspired by the Buddha's philosophy.
The instruments used in the performance are hand cymbals, small bells, oversized triangle, shakers, war drums, pandeiro, and my main instrument, the ocean drum.
It was recorded with a single condenser microphone and then processed with effects within Logic Pro X. The effects are EQ, compressor, and shimmer reverb. A master out is used for multi-comp and limiting.
The camera was taken with an old iPhone 7, so a little bit of noise is a bonus.
Video editing was done in Final Cut Pro.
I don't have an image of the music in advance, but improvise based on inspiration.
During the performance, I am in a meditative state. Ambient improvisation is close to meditation for me.
Basically anyone can play ambient music with percussion. You can try it if you like.
