hey, y’all! at the risk of being over-emotional & oversharing, i wanted to wish everyone a happy lunar new year, whether you celebrate or not.
it just hit me that this may be my last tết w/ my mom. i've been processing that general situation for months now, mostly on my own.
i grew up in a huge family, with literally 40+ cousins on mẹ's side. having to cut down to just our nuclear family in this time, especially knowing this might be mẹ’s last, hurts deeply in a way none of the major american holidays did.
we're in the middle of the polar vortex and it's horrid outside, though the fluffy snow is pretty, something we'd never see in the motherland except in the few mountain towns. cliche that life is fleeting & harsh, but i keep looking for the glimmers of beauty & kindness.
really, i just want to share some warmth with y'all.
i hope you're all well, or finding your way there. i hope your families, born & chosen, are safe. i hope the small beautiful and kind moments fuel you through life. any time could be the last time, but that's what makes existence a marvel. i'm choosing grace & some gratefulness.
anyway, as y’all may have noticed i’m not here much anymore, tho i try to check in sometimes. i’m on twitter now, mostly talking about japanese pro wrestling. if anyone wanted to find me there, my handle’s @_aikuma
take care & be kind to yourselves 💖

there’s really no reason why the joshi side of the bracket isn’t on tv other than because they don’t want to, or “don’t have time” for more than one women’s match on a show. Being filmed in Japan doesnt mean it can’t be put on national television, considering the dojo it’s filmed at airs on samuraitv. Hell, the dojo is even set up with lights, fog machines, sound systems, ect. The resources are there, they simply just don’t care enough.
