My Honest thoughts on Yo-Kai Watch 4.

Yo-Kai Watch 4 is perhaps the weirdest game in the entire franchise. Even weirder than “Yo-Kai Watch Just Dance Special Version.”

It BARELY feels like a Yo-Kai watch game when you look at the gameplay. You could tell someone you were just playing a Mod that reskins the characters to Yo-Kai and they’d probably believe you.

The ONLY part that feels remotely Yo-Kai Watch in terms of Gameplay is Busters, which is DLC.

They took away SO MANY YO-KAI IN FOUR. They took away EVOLUTION AND FUSION. But oh, let’s keep Both Frostina AND Blizzaria. We totally need BOTH of them but not Baddinyan, Thornyan, Robonyan F, etc.

Also, Nate isn’t even the main character of the game, really. SUMMER is.

Also, I think the befriending system is really, REALLY Weird.

The game is FUN, sure, but it feels like it shouldn’t be considered a YO-KAI WATCH game.

It’s a good game, I’m not trying to say it’s bad, but a Yo-Kai watch game? That’s pushing it.

I love how Yokai Watch 4 introduced the mechanic of "Letting the player character just beat the shit out of the enemy Yokai with their bare hands instead of just letting your team of Yokai do all the work" really the best innovation in all of the Monster Collector genre

I FUCKING HATE how MunchingOrange’s playthrough of Yo-Kai Watch 4 is doing so far. Don’t get me wrong, while this brings the english fan-translation into light, and I may not be into let’s plays like this, but Orange’s commentary and the titles of each episode is what totally ruined it for me. Like the beginning of the game had him saying “is this genshin?” and it made me go AIN’T NO WAY BRUH 💀
