I really like Ms Marvel. I do. I was a fan of the comics and am a fan of the show
HOWEVER!!
I do want to point out that Ms Marvel should not be used as a completely accurate example of Pakistani history/culture. (It's not inaccurate though)
Kamala and her family are descended from people who had to flee India and come to Pakistan during Partition (Muhajir). The reality is that the vast majority of Pakistanis are indigenous to the land and speak languages other than Urdu (myself included).
I hope none of you are watching Ms Marvel and thinking all South Asians are the same because we were colonised under British rule together. Prior to the British we were NEVER one single country, but rather multiple kingdoms with unique cultures. I understand why Ms Marvel is only showing Kamala's family history and I respect that, but please please if you're a fan of the show do not assume her story is the only story.
PAKISTANIS ARE DIVERSE AND WE ARE NOT JUST MUSLIM INDIANS.
Same goes for Bangladeshis.
