It should not have taken the entire women’s football community voicing the disgust and wrong doing of the RFEF and the public actions of that bald fool for his resignation.
The Jamaican girls should not have had to create a GoFundMe page to get to Australia to compete.
The Canadian team should not have had to go public about their lack of pay.
It should not have taken the early departure of the USWNT to get Vlatko out.
The Zambian team should not have had to voice their issues of sexual abuse and misconduct of their coach.
So many other issues out there from so many other countries that should not even be in existence.
It should not take the players announcing to the world that there are issues for them to be taken seriously. Players should be able to feel comfortable enough to speak with their federations about problems and know that changes will be made and that they will not be singled out or become a victim of backlash. Treat female footballers with the same professionalism and respect you treat the males.

Spain. the side that deserved to win, the side that played like it was a final, the side that showed the most passion. However, the side that has winning players, not winning coaches. This trophy is Alexia’s, Salma’s, Ona’s, Olga’s, Jenni’s, Aitanas and etc. It is not Jorge Vilda’s win. Say the names of the players that weren’t there. Mapi, Pina, Sandra, Leila, Patri. Heartbreaking win, but a deserved one.

ok im just gonna put this out there, everyone hates you-know-who, but people who are like "I'm not cheering for him I'm cheerin for the players" that's not better. most of these players went back on something, bc most of the las 15 came back now there will never be change. Patri, Pina, and Mapi, players who are willing to miss big tournaments for the sake of change in the women game. i know this means nothing to them, but I've lost a lot of respect for those playerswho came back. i find it extremely frustrating to watch players, that in any other circumstance I would look up to , go back on their word and go back on their morals. so no, I will not be cheering for Spain in the wwc finals. and no, I will not be cheering "just for theplayers" bc they are condoning behaviour that other players have bravel stood up for and fought while they went back on their word

The worst part is that by them going through, they’ve lost their voice and power to get the changes they wanted.
They can’t say shit again after the World Cup because NOBODY will take them seriously.
Not the same situation but we saw how England stood together and are still standing together for better conditions and changes.

wwc 2023.
It's kicking off.
And in every sense of the phrase, we will have you know. It is doing so quite literally, for one thing, as it is the #wwc 2023. And by virtue, several games are kicking off each day as two players from one team stand in the center circle, at numerous moments during the match, and tap the ball to the other. But it is kicking off in a more spiritual sense. This is because the World Cup is serious business. Everyone, quite understandably, really wants to win it. And when tensions and adrenaline run that high, things can get pretty ugly. No one has kicked anyone else, per se, but not far from it. Without mentioning names, of course. *cough Lauren James cough*
Instead, we would lean in and softly offer calming words to all involved, but quite frankly, as the tournament progresses, it's getting pretty brutal out there. And in the immortal words of Billie Eilish, that is simply not what we're made for. Let them fight.
