i made translations of the entirety of self-ish to my language and sent them to a socmed group of fans in my country, but i forgot that besides useful notes i included the line "*sounds of a guy getting his fingers broken by a hammer*" for the end of cotard's solution.

Not an ask but n just wanted to say I hate that 95% of this fandom is so cool and amazing. Unhinged, but energetic and we're all strange in our own beautiful way.

And then there's the other 5% that are really creepy and weird about will wood... Not just his songs but him too... Like that story of the Facebook pfp and constantly putting him on a pedestal! He's awesome! And he makes music that is absolutely breathtaking!!! But I think ppl forget that he's human like the rest of us, and I think some ppl forget that and don't treat him with any humane respect.

Ig u have to expect that in every fandom but the bad side of this fandom genuinely disgusts me the most, oml so so sorry for the rant haha just wanted to share my experience. Most of the fans are awesome tho ^^

I don't mean to be a hater but genuinely the Genius explanations on Will Wood songs miss the point of the lyrics hard

I think my favourite example of genius annotators looking way too deep into will wood lyrics is where will has already explained the meaning of “Vampire reference in a minor key” and basically said something along the lines of:

“This is just a spooky little break-up song! ‘I’ll be in my coffin’ is just my Halloweeny way of saying ‘I’ll be waiting for you’! :)”

And then the genius annotator above him is like

“Will is abandoning his old persona. In this lyric he is KILLING HIS PAST SELF AND PUTTING HIM TO REST IN A COFFIN.”

(Also I chose that image because I also found that one so fucking funny. Why do they have so many downvotes? Why are you booing them, they’re right!)

I genuinely feel weird watching old clips of will. Like the ones from before 2019, it feels so off. The clips are funny and I enjoy that it just weird hearing will’s voice to them. I know it’s him, but it’s kinda not him, it’s super hard to describe. I feel the same way about Self-ish too. I enjoy the songs, heck Mr.Capgras is one of my all time favorites, it just feels odd to listen to. Not the good odd.

yeah... i LOVE the demo of Laplace's Angel. it's so wonderfully bitter and grotesque and wacky and also so... honest. i get why people would be offended by it, but i genuinely think that "edgy" art deserves to exists as well because sometimes the ridiculousness of it makes a nice critique. that song's just dripping with loathing for humanity but also with loathing for the narrator himself. um. CHEF'S KISS TBH.
