‘I don’t mean to be crass,’ Bashir said, ‘but frankly, there are worse ways this could have played out.’
Worf nodded grimly. ‘I suppose there are worse people I could be in this situation with.’
He glanced up as he realised, a split second too late, that he had misunderstood the doctor’s meaning.
Bashir smirked, but didn’t meet his eye. ‘I’ll take that as a compliment.’
‘You should not.’

The Worfshir aliens made them do it fic is done, I just need to edit it in the light of day, so it'll be up Sat or Sun. I also can't quite make up my mind about how to warn/tag it because it's pretty lighthearted (which is like...for some that will make it better, for some that makes it worse, you know?) and I need a title, oops. I hate titling fics and I'm never very happy with the titles I end up with...
