Poll: Round 1B #1
Tumblr media Tumblr media
*Reminder that Break up is being used loosely here and not all relationships may be romantic in nature
Propaganda under cut
Ruth and Debbie:
-Ruth and Debbie (former best friends) fell out with each other after Ruth had an affair with Debbie's husband, Mark, whom Debbie then divorced. now they're both in a fledgling professional wrestling promotion called the Gorgeous Ladies of Wrestling (GLOW) along with many other women. the complex ups and downs of Ruth and Debbie's relationship, this indescribable, ever-changing tension between them is the core of the show.
(Mark is completely irrelevant as a character. he's the catalyst for all of this, but that's the only thing he is)
Curt and Owen:
-(major spoilers)
curt accidentally caused owen's death and then spent 4 years feeling super guilty and becoming an alcoholic about it. then turns out owen wasn't dead and he's spent the past 4 years plotting revenge. so owen shows up in disguise, tortures the shit out of curt, and reveals his true identity and the fact that he's alive. they fight each other and curt tries to reason with him, but owen will not listen to any of it, and so curt kills him.

Be All Elite, Not Just CM Punk
Professional wrestling is bigger than any one person. AEW is more than CM Punk. I am glad I became a fan from the beginning because I get to see people like Kenny Omega, Britt Baker, The Bucks, The Acclaimed, Willow Nightingale, Orange Cassidy, MJF, Skye Blue, and many more wrestle and perform weekly. I am here for all of All Elite Wrestling. It's hard to believe people say they are out after just one person who by his own fault finds himself on the outside looking in.
Sure, Tony Khan has made his share of mistakes. I have to believe he tried his best to keep Punk until he couldn't do that any longer. Other people in the biz have made their mistakes Vince McMahon, Jim Crockett, and every other promoter who has had the vision and resources to start a wrestling company.
Tonight there is a PPV in Chicago where hard-working men and women will put on their gear and provide a great show and will tell stories in a squared circle. Isn't that the essence of what pro wrestling is?

Tony Khan Criticized Oklahoma State Athletic Commission For Their Transphobia Against Nyla Rose
Tumblr media
The owner of All Elite Wrestling (AEW) says he’s “disappointed” in the Oklahoma State Athletic Commission (OSAC) after the OSAC reprimanded the company for featuring transgender wrestler Nyla Rose in a match against a cisgender woman.
On December 20, 2023, Rose (the first trans woman to be hired by a major U.S. wrestling promotion, and the second-ever AEW Women’s Champion) appeared on a show in Oklahoma City under AEW’s Ring of Honor subsidiary brand, facing off against competitor Alejandra the Lion. As fans are well aware, professional wrestling matches are predetermined, and while violent, involve realistic stage combat rather than attempts to permanently injure one’s “opponent.” But wrestling is still legally a “professional combative sports event,” so Oklahoma athletic regulators swiftly stepped in to object to the match, based solely on the fact that Rose is trans and Alejandra is not.
Tumblr media
The Commission’s rules prohibit athletic competitions “between males and females,” as defined solely by their chromosomes, a rule which is printed in the state’s official pro wrestling license application. OSAC officials claimed that Rose violated the law by marking “female” on her application, issuing a formal warning to AEW with a promise of “punitive action” should the company run more matches between trans and cis wrestlers in Oklahoma going forward. Under Oklahoma law, violating an OSAC statute can result in a $1,000 fine or 30 days in jail for a first infraction, with additional infractions carrying penalties up to $5,000 or one year in prison. Oklahoma’s chromosomal regulations have been in place since 2012.
Rose regularly works with cis women in her matches, such as her longtime in-ring rival Hikaru Shida. Though her “Native Beast” character references Rose’s Oneida heritage, AEW has not referenced her trans identity in its storylines. During a media call on Wednesday in advance of AEW’s Dynasty pay-per-view event, co-owner and president Tony Khan expressed “shock” at OSAC’s warning and said he fully supports Rose and other trans athletes.
“I was really surprised by this [...] and of course, I was disappointed by the commission’s position and by that warning,” Khan told reporters during the call, “I don’t think we did anything wrong.”
Tumblr media
“I don’t think there should be discrimination against transgender wrestlers or transgender people at all,” Khan went on to say. “They have rights, and to that end, I absolutely stand by Nyla Rose. AEW stands by Nyla Rose and all transgender people who want to play sports. And this is wrestling. There was nothing wrong with it [...] if everybody in the locker room can embrace Nyla, I would hope that the Oklahoma Commission could do the same thing.”
When asked if AEW would continue running events in Oklahoma following the warning, Khan demurred. “We have great fans in Oklahoma, they’re important to us,” he said. “And great fans all over the country, and so we’ll do anything we can to support those fans. So, it’s something we’re gonna have to think about.”

Let’s talk WrestleQueerdom!
Hello! We’re promoting an upcoming wrestling event, WrestleQueerdom 8.6 in the Hampshire Dome! It’s a first-of-its-kind event for Western wrestling, being an event composed entirely of transgender/nonbinary/otherwise gender non-conforming talents in the world of professional wrestling! We’re very excited for this event on August 6th and we want to share all of the goings on with all of you!
First things first, if you wanna watch the event either in person or online, the links are as follows:
Tickets for live attendance:
https://www.eventbrite.com/e/wrestlequeerdom-in-hampshire-dome-tickets-335918099077
Tickets for PPV + Virtual Meet & Greets: https://app.loopedlive.com/c/3874
The virtual Meet & Greet options are VENY (She/Her), Candy Lee (She/Her), Sazzy Boatright (They/Them), Kidd Bandit (Any/All) and Gisele Shaw (She/Her.) The schedule is on the website!
Commentary will be provided by our friend Gwen Neodonna (They/Them/She/Her/It/its) , and the ring announcer for the event is Wren Hawthorne (They/She.)
Now that we’ve gotten all of that out of the way I’d like to run down the card for you guys!
Tumblr media
First to talk about is our Main Event match, VENY (She/Her) vs. Edith Surreal (She/Her)! This is VENY’s United States debut, and for such a monumental occasion we wanted to go all out and get her the best opponent possible. Enter Edith Surreal, who I feel is maybe the best wrestler on the independent scene today. Can Edith solidify that spot by taking down one of the best wrestlers in the entire world, or will VENY be the one to shine in her first match on American soil? I don’t know but I expect it to be a really great showing from both of them and something that fans will be taking to the MOTY ballots. There is no better way to cap off this historic evening than with this real international dream match.
Tumblr media
The next match we’re talking about is the Diva Throwdown, as the Ultimate Diva Candy Lee (She/Her) takes on the Quintessential Diva Gisele Shaw (She/Her.) Gisele is one of the most accomplished women’s wrestlers in the UK over the past few years I’d wager, dominating in companies like PROGRESS and RevPro. Meanwhile Candy’s career was kinda put on hold during the lockdown, despite 2020 looking like it was for sure going to be her breakout year. Now Candy is back, and after winning the Grand Prize championship at Paris is Bumping she’s looking for more competition. These two both profess themselves to be Divas so we’re here to see who the most Total Diva is among them.
Tumblr media
Max the Impaler (They/Them) was the first talent announced for WrestleQueerdom, and they came to the show looking for a fight. Kota Holliday (She/They) might not be good enough or famous enough to call Max out, but that’s what Kota chose to do. Kota has said it herself, she wants Max to put her in the dirt. And I don’t think Max has any objections to their proposal. This one will be violent. It’s gonna fucking rock.
Tumblr media
Eden von Engeland (They/Them) and Shea McCoy (She/Her) have had something of an accidental rivalry over the last couple of years. Perhaps its because of their similar backgrounds but they often find themselves facing off with each other... And Eden has come up on the winning side every single time. With two singles wins over Shea and two tag wins, can Eden maintain this dominance over their rival or will Shea finally be able to get one up on them? Will the traditional wrestling rules benefit either of them as opposed to the CFU or UWFi rules matches they’ve had in the past? Only one way to find out and that’s to watch the match.
Tumblr media
In the last year, Kidd Bandit (Any/All) has taken the world by storm with a unique array of offense, a great aesthetic and a general positive attitude towards their community. Their growth is almost unprecedented within wrestling. Don’t Die Miles (He/They) is another really fantastic, uniquely talented younger wrestler with similar nerdy characteristics and good vibes. I put them together for the specific purpose of having high flying exciting action, and I think it’s gonna be an absolute spectacle for the world to see.
Tumblr media
Richie Coy (they/them) and Zeke Mercer (they/them) are two really underrated wrestlers who deserve bigger platforms and this match entirely exists for more people to see how good they are.
Tumblr media
The final match of the evening is one I’m really excited for, the UNO Battle Royale. 8 wrestlers will enter, divided into groups of 2 based on the colors of UNO Cards, into a battle royale with a final entrant, the WILD CARD, being a surprise participant. Current confirmed entrants are Cameron Saturn, Nick Pierce, Sazzy Boatright, Joan Jetson and Anastasia Morningstar. This is in no way inspired or based off of any similar match concepts.
Tumblr media
We’ll also have two spectacle attractions, first up being THE ROAST OF CANDY LEE as hosted by Eddy Joanne-Elizabeth McQueen! We all love Candy and we’re all gonna have a good time with this one, even if she throws hands over it.
Finally, we will induct the first member of the TransGraps Transgender Wrestling Hall of Fame!
So that’s everything you need to know about our spectacular event, the first of its kind in the western scene, only second in the entire world to Dynamite Vamp. I hope you support us, thank you for reading all of this! We can’t wait to build a further connection with the tumblr community.

How about we don't trivialize what happened to Janel Grant and Vince's other victims by making this a tribalism "GOTCHA" moment by calling WWE the Harvey Weinstein of wrestling.
AEW has done a lot of good will since Dynasty and what does Tony do? puts his foot in his mouth and pours all that good will down the drain. All he had to do was elevate AEW to crazy heights just go ahead and promote the company and not mention WWE. But he couldn't fucking help himself.
And hey, you shouldn't be saying this, WHEN YOU HAVE DON CALLIS, RIC FLAIR, JAY LETHAL AND CHRIS JERICHO ON YOUR FUCKING ROSTER! Don't throw stones when your hands are full of that kind of filth. RIC FLAIR'S ENERGY DRINK IS ADVERTISED EVERY FUCKING WEEK!
Reminder that Tony Khan forced a woman to sign an NDA, in order to protect Chris Jericho, & to save aew’s tv deal. HE IS COMPLICIT, DON'T THROW STONES ASSHOLE!
Also a reminder that Vince McMahon is no longer with WWE, while Tony downplayed the allegations, and harboring multple sex pests on his roster
We didn’t forget Tony. Wanna know what else we didn't forget? you answered questions about sexual harassment in a fuzzy hat and sunglasses, hired Ric Flair, and called said sexual harassment “internet rumors”
And Tony? YOU WERE SUPPOSED TO SELL A NECK INJURY, not CTE
And how fucking dare you make that comparison? There are men and women who work for WWE who are in no way at fault for the actions of Vince McMahon's depraved actions. it's a slap in the face to the good people and pro wrestlers that work there. NO ONE is defending the sex trafficking/offending pieces of fucking shit. How fucking dare you.
You could've said "Vince is the Harvey Weinstein of wrestling and WWE while are competitors are in the right direction, I'm excited about both our futures, we are both good for professional wrestling" but saying WWE was ridiculous. It was a pathetic attempt to seem like a try hard competitor, makes Tony look pathetic and desperate and made AEW look bad.
Comparing a wrestling company to Harvey Weinstein on national television is just straight-up defamation. That's a lawsuit waiting to happen.
GROW THE FUCK UP TONY!

wrt “aew is the only alternative to wwe” while i would encourage people to look at wrestling in other countries (including beyond japan and mexico), even within america, this isn’t true, there’s a lot of american promotions. indie promotions are right there and they, frankly, usually treat their women wrestlers so much better than aew/wwe. if people live in america, they likely have at least one indie promotion local to them, it’s nice to support the local scene, see up and comers
exactly! i didn't really want to vague anyone in specific—because everyone's entitled to their own opinions even if they're horrendously wrong—but i saw a post talking about the negative attention tony khan has been garnering on twitter (which i have not seen because i only go on twitter to look at wrestling photography) and how people should go easy on him because some people like both promotions and wouldn't want to wish ill on aew. because if aew didn't exist they wouldn't have an alternative to wwe. and it's like... that's just wholly ignorant
and then they went on to explain how indie wrestling is way too "unprofessional" for them to enjoy. which is not something i would ever um... think. in relation to wrestling. what quantifies as professionalism? is it just having money to build nice sets which in turn make you appear more put together regardless of how you handle talent behind the scenes? looking back at phenomena like the indie exodus also proves that you can't write off the wrestling itself as not being on par with what big name promotions provide—a lot of those wrestlers came straight from the indies, after all
i don't know... there is so much more to wrestling than reducing the entire global scene to a one-upmanship between two american companies who seem to value profit over expanding the potential of wrestling. a lot of fans could benefit from a little curiosity at times

Various WWF Wrestlers/Jack Tripper x Fem Reader- "I Love This Bar"
For those about to read this fanfiction, you can either ship yourself with these male wrestlers or Jack Tripper. Or both.
______________________________________________________________
When the World Wrestling Federation resurged in popularity during the dawn of the new millennium--even eclipsing the 1980's WWF in popularity---the WWF launched their own restaurant during the Attitude era known as WWF New York, which of course, was located in New York.
Many professional wrestlers during that time would stand inside WWF New York promoting it.
The WWF New York restaurant of course had a bar people could order drinks from.
If it's Jack Tripper you want...
One of the things "Three's Company" is known for is the Regal Beagle pub that Jack, Janet and Chrissy hung out in.
"Three's Company" was also known for Jack being a womanizer and having a lot of hypersexualized women trying to flirt with him, as well as women having many upskirt shots.
On a "Monday Night Raw" episode that aired near the end of the year 2000---the same year that the WWF New York restaurant was launched---there was a moment in that episode where you were in that WWF New York restaurant standing on top of the bar's table.
Located in front of the bar was Christian Cage, Chris Jericho, Jeff Hardy, Al Snow and Raven.
Those 4 men were the sexiest men in the WWF that year.
All of those men in this scene had their long hair hanging down, and Al and Raven had shaved their facial hair off.
That's a good thing since they didn't look too good with it.
Not only were those wrestlers standing in front of that bar's table, so were a crowd of other men and women.
When you were standing on that bar's table, you were wearing a rather short skirt so those men in front of you---in particular those wrestlers---could see up your skirt.
While you stood on top of that table, you slightly danced with a smirk on your face, your hands placed at the sides of your head while your fingers were laced and running down through your hair.
Your hips swayed back and forth while Christian, Chris, Jeff, Al and Raven looked up at you.
Al and Christian were really the ones smiling, Raven was staying in character and mostly scowled and sneered, and many people surrounding them watching you dance were also smiling and cheering for you.
If they could, Christian and some of those other wrestlers would pull out some money and hand it to you.
You, on the other hand, looked at Christian, Chris, Jeff, Al and Raven with a smile on your face as this camera filmed you as well as them.
You wish other male wrestlers could be watching you dance on this table---Scott Hall, Triple H in late 1997/early 1998, Shawn Michaels, Val Venis if he grew his hair back, Rob Van Dam, Nova from ECW, and the list goes on.
However, many of those wrestlers were in other companies, Val cut his hair and he became more conservative, Nova didn't look good with facial hair that year and Triple H started looking terrible in the year 2000 when he became the Game (he also had Stephanie McMahon with him).
When you danced on that bar's table, you weren't drunk nor were you pretending to be drunk.
This moment was like a moment from the movie "Coyote Ugly"---which also was released in the year 2000, although you didn't pour beer on your breasts even though you wish you could've.
You actually were considered a role for that movie, but you turned it down.
During a "Three's Company" episode that aired at the end of the 1970's, there was an episode where Jack visited the Regal Beagle and you had gotten a little bit too tipsy and wild.
So wild, that you climbed on top of the Regal Beagle's pub table and began dancing, which caught Jack's as well as everyone else in the pub's attention.
You swayed your hips back and forth and wore a short skirt, and Jack was standing in front of that pub's table looking up your skirt.
When he was filmed, he was filmed above his chest staring up at you.
You smiled with a grin on your face while you looked at Jack.
Jack wasn't gonna lie, he was getting a boner from looking up your skirt.
If only you weren't drunk.
If "Three's Company" could show lots of upskirt shots, Janet with her legs a bit open and her pantyline covering her vulva, and women walking around wearing nothing but towels (as well as being a show where a man lives with 2 women before he married them!), then they can show you dancing on top of a pub's table.

Yeah there’s the stuff about the boys in the back not listening to Regal. But I can’t imagine, despite EC3 being the source, that there isn’t some truth to him being fed up with the immaturity of the management. You can see it in the product. Commentary is so immature on every AEW programming. Khan just sitting there coked up out of his mind during those post-PPV press conferences while his talent does whatever they want. The wrestlers constantly battling each other on socials and too many now levying the same accusation of those who stay up partying with the bosses all night get the pushes. Why would a decades long veteran like Regal want to stick around in an environment like that? Say what you want about HHH and I know you will, there’s gotta be something good about his leadership for a guy like Regal to have a clause in his contract about it.
There is absolutely elements to the truth in what EC3, despite all his bullshit, is saying because we've heard it also from Billy Gunn and i've pointed out before that Eddie Kingston often retweets shit saying "yo we work with this guy btw" on old great Jerry Lynn or Dean Malenko clips but also people have said they experience culture shock in AEW as it is more laidback and less rigid than WWE which imo is much more of a positive than a negative.
However I completely disagree with your viewpoint that everything is immature when you have Tony, Taz and Excalibur all veterans of the industry there and i'm sick and fucking tired of people saying Tony Khan is coked up, it's fucking ridiculous, do you really think Tony Khan is just some child? Do you know what else he fucking runs? He's got 2 professional sports teams under him aswell, it's not immaturity it's more just he has a shit ton of stuff going on.
Also aswell as if wrestlers haven't fought with one another in WWE, or in literally any wrestling promotion, people acting like this is happening for the first time in AEW are ignorant for their own beliefs, and the people saying that talent are staying up partying with the boss are also the same people who say that Nyla Rose shouldn't have been a WOMEN's world champion so I have zero time for those dumbasses.
And also yeah, say what I will about Triple H? Fuck triple H and everything he stands for, and his leadership is as scummy as Vince McMahon, the only reason Regal is going back is because WWE is a rigid boring system where he'll go talent scout at every PWG or any other indie event signing up guys and hoard a bunch of talent again and cut the industry off by the balls because Triple H is demented on global domination.

Men's Only Wrestling Promotion to Finally Put Men at the Forefront of Pro Wrestling
A Florida-based promotion will take the bold step of putting the focus of professional wrestling squarely on men for the first time in the history of sports entertainment.
Tumblr media
Since the inception of pro wrestling, women have completely and utterly dominated the business. From promoters to bookers to performers, the vast majority of people in wrestling are women leaving little or no time for men.
Finally, a brave man is stepping up and putting everything on the line to give men the chance they've been waiting for. All Men's Pro will focus entirely on male wrestlers and will be booked by a man. This marks the first time in the history of wrestling this has happened.
The promoter, who is known as Florida Joe, has taken a courageous step forward by fighting for men's equality in the wrestling business. Women have been in charge for too long, leading to stagnant booking. It's just not working and we all know it.
All Men's Pro will give men the first chance they've ever had to show they can draw a crowd, too, and maybe even reenergize the business. Fingers crossed for the success of Florida Joe and All Men's Pro. We're rooting for you, you brilliant visionary.

When the first season of GLOW ended, it was on a cliffhanger. Over 10 episodes, Ruth (Alison Brie) and Debbie (Betty Gilpin) had crafted new identities as Zoya the Destroyer and Liberty Belle, two women wrestlers with an intense, Cold War–inspired rivalry. In the final episode, Zoya and Liberty Belle faced off after weeks of training in a thrilling, meticulously choreographed bout. At the end, they took a minute to acknowledge how well it went. They both smiled. Ruth tentatively asked Debbie if she wanted to get a celebratory drink. Debbie’s smile immediately fractured. “No,” she said. “We’re not there.” Ruth’s face fell. The credits rolled.
It was an odd, disconsolate note for the series to end on given the triumphant nature of the final few scenes, as the stars of the Gorgeous Ladies of Wrestling wrapped their first TV shoot. But it was a realistic one. In the pilot for GLOW, viewers met Ruth, an out-of-work actress, and Debbie, a soap star turned stay-at-home mother, only to discover at the end of the episode that Ruth had been sleeping with Debbie’s husband. Debbie, incandescent with rage, confronted Ruth in the warehouse where GLOW was rehearsing, prompting the show’s wily director, Sam Sylvia (Marc Maron), to imagine how sparks might fly between the two women in the ring. Debbie was cast as Ruth’s arch rival. The question underpinning the season was whether wrestling would bring the friends back together, or whether Ruth’s behavior was ultimately unforgivable.
Television has centered female relationships before, often in quartet form (Girls, Sex and the City, The Golden Girls), or in ways that are riven with tension (The Handmaid’s Tale) or codependency (Broad City, Grey’s Anatomy). Insecure thrives on examining the relationship between Issa (Issa Rae) and Molly (Yvonne Orji). But GLOW does something different. It treats the relationship between Ruth and Debbie like a romantic one, elevating it above any other partnership in the series. Their breakup as friends is the core event that precipitates their casting on the show, and it’s conceived as seriously and as thoughtfully as a romantic breakup. Debbie’s final “We’re not there” affirms that they might have made progress as coworkers, but they’re a long way from fixing the damage that Ruth has done—and they might not make it.
The second season of GLOW, which was released in its entirety late last month, continues to foreground Ruth and Debbie’s relationship, culminating in a moment of violence and a furious, ugly fight in a hospital room. One of the questions for the writers in Season 2, GLOW’s co-showrunner Liz Flahive told me, was whether Ruth deserves happiness, and if she does, whether Debbie, who is going through a divorce, should have to watch Ruth be happy. It’s a question that branches out from something the show considered in its first season: Can Ruth, who’s revealed so early on to have betrayed her friend so egregiously, still be sympathetic? As a character, Ruth defies simple likability: She’s ambitious, pretentious, and frequently ridiculous. But in Brie’s hands, she’s also engaging, insecure, neurotic, and brave enough to be rooted for. “Look, people do really mess things up,” Flahive said. “And watching a character try, for better or worse, is so compelling.”
For the first half of Season 2, the dynamic between Ruth and Debbie remains unchanged. Debbie, in addition to channelling some of her anger into her bouts as Liberty Belle, redirects her energy toward her professional ambitions, negotiating a raise and a promotion to producer. Ruth, for the most part, meekly takes whatever Debbie throws at her. At work, they interact politely but struggle to make eye contact. When Ruth is asked out by a cameraman, Russell (Victor Quinaz), she accepts a ride home with Debbie instead, taking whatever crumbs she can get. “Is it going to bother you if, um, I go out on a date? Do you mind if I meet someone?” she asks Debbie. “I don’t care what you do,” Debbie replies quietly, before going on to deride Russell in a way that makes it clear how much she does care.
As the season continues, the tension between the two women comes to a head first when Debbie rails at Ruth for running away from a casting-couch situation that might have saved their show. “Feminism has principles,” Debbie spits. “Life has compromises.” Then, after a furious, despondent Debbie encounters her ex-husband’s new girlfriend, she intentionally fractures Ruth’s ankle in the ring. The event restores a degree of balance to the relationship that enables one of the most excruciatingly realistic TV fights between two friends in recent memory, in which buried resentments are dug up and toxic patterns thrown out. Gilpin, conveying Debbie’s commingled rage and guilt, is hypnotic in the scene, equally furious at Ruth and at herself. Ruth, emboldened by a growing sense of her own victimhood (and by a Valium–Klonopin cocktail), strikes back. Their relationship, she poses, is built on how Debbie savors her success against Ruth’s failure. It doesn’t justify Ruth’s infidelity to her friend, but for the first time in the series it suggests how it could have happened.
The scene is so potent because it’s so familiar. Friendships between women rely, often, on the unsayable—the secret comparisons, the petty jealousies, the familiar patterns of behavior. A fight with a friend can feel as emotionally draining, as unbearably cruel, as a fight with a partner. By putting Ruth and Debbie’s tangled relationship at the center of GLOW, the show comprehends this dynamic, almost to the detriment of the supporting characters (it’s the rare Netflix show that has so many stories to tell that it could stand to be longer). It uses the tension between two former friends as fodder for both character growth and narrative progression. But it also takes a realistic view of female friendship that television often sugarcoats. TV friendships, Emily Reynolds wrote in the New Statesman in 2016, tend to be idolized and cherished in a cutesy Galentine’s Day, yas-queen, matching-bangs kind of way. Ruth and Debbie are different. GLOW never guarantees that their friendship will recover, or that it should. What it does do is assert its significance in the first place, and emphasize how devastating its breakdown is to each of them.

CHARACTER INTRO - OOC post.
Hiii bbies, we've been in groups together before but I'm Anna Banana ! This is my bby Blake, I've played her in many, many groups over the years and below is some info on her.
Full name: Blake Penelope Marie.
Age: 29 yrs old - July 23, 1993.
Hometown: Gainesville, GA
Currently Resides In: Jacksonville, FL
Occupation: AEW Seamstress. She's worked for IMPACT Wrestling and she worked for NJPW in the past as well.
Sexuality: Bisexual.
Relationship Status: Single. She enjoys having a good time, but she also guards her heart and herself from most people when it comes to that aspect of her life. Blake Marie was born in Gainesville GA to her parents Ted and Victoria Marie - her father is a successful lawyer and her mother owned a flower shop in town. Blake had a "picture perfect" family for most of her life and while her parents weren't physically abusive to her, they weren't exactly loving either. Often times she was the subject of a lot of mental and emotional abuse, her father cheated on her mother a lot with different women from the law firm he worked at. Her mother was never really fit to be a mom if she was being honest with herself, she had fallen pregnant, and Ted always hoped for a son but ended up getting Blake instead. Blake's relationship with her parents has always been rocky at best but she tries to make it work as best as she can.
When she was 12 years old, her grandmother taught her how to sew and it's been a passion of hers ever since. She's also always been big into professional wrestling and she knew that one day if she had it her way - she'd make it into the professional wrestling scene. She went to college at the Miami International University Of Art & Design for Fashion design and merchandising, that was where she landed some connections with local independent promoters around FL and eventually, she caught the eye of Impact Wrestling and spent 3 years with the company, after those 3 years were up, she ended up moving to Japan - where she got a job with NJPW. She worked for them until 2021 - when she ended up at AEW and has been there ever since.
Blake's hobbies / interests include: wrestling, shopping, food, makeup, making youtube videos, hanging out with friends, writing, reading, etc.
Blake is a pretty friendly person, she always goes out of her way to try and include people, she easily makes friends, and she's got a pretty loud out there personality that does sometimes get her into trouble.
She's open to any & all plots, shipping of course comes with chemistry, but everything else is up for grabs. Hit me up for my discord or hit the heart & I'll come bug you for plot ideas. <3

A bunch of news sites are reporting that Vince McMahon is selling to a Saudi private investment firm making more money than God, it returning back to a private company, Thusly offering more money and incentives to talent contracts amongst other things. This will also lead to a power grab by McMahon to take the reins of creative again.
If these rumors are true, this is possibly the reason why Stephanie McMahon resigned. I am certain that there will be mass layoffs coming soon for the wrestlers and creatives that Triple H hired back to the company. People that Vince doesn't see value in.
I'm also sure that Triple H, William Regal and the newly appointed head of continuity Rob Fee will see either their roles diminished or be let go all together as well.
It will also lead to an exodus of one of their most popular characters right now, Sami Zayn. (who is of Syrian descent).
It might also lead to their stacked women's roster being depleted and every lgbtq person within the company either being fired or let go.
Just note this is just speculation on my part due to the fact about how the Saudis treat women and homosexuals. However, thanks to a Twitter follower of mine (Alex Morrison) I understand the ins and outs of how these investment firms work. They own many soccer teams in the UK, including women's league, which are thriving financially and they are paying the players well. I thank Alex for his insight into these side of things.
I hope that this is just a private investment firm that won't have any influence on the company itself. But I, personally, highly doubt it.
It's strange that a company that was so "pro American" especially during the Hogan years with the "giant foreign heel" rising against America and "Hulkamania" will come to a deal with such a ruthless organization. Heck, they are so "USA" that they often fundraise for certain orange-tinted Buffoon's that claim to be for "America First".
Another odd thing, and a fact about Vincent Kennedy McMahon, is that he created the character of "The Million Dollar Man" to be a send-up. He was taking the piss out of rich people because he detested so much how they acted and flaunted their wealth and means. How money changes people's perspective through age and time is equally interesting and disturbing. " Greed is good", I guess.
In the end it's all about the dollars and it doesn't have to make sense. They've had pay-per-view events for the Saudi Prince for multiple years now. In a way I'm not really surprised that this is happening.
It's actually an interesting allegory to late stage capitalism and the rise of the extremist politics, in a way. Money talks and bullshit walks as long as an elderly, out of touch white man that holds all the cards is in control.
Also, this Billion Dollar Man and his corporation/conglomerate subduing all, if any, creative youth movement from within. It's a tale as Old as Time.
So far this is only a rumor. A very big rumor. WWE has not confirmed the sale. However I wouldn't be surprised if they did.
I am hoping for the best for Shawn Michaels, Triple H, Stephanie, Rob Fee , Bray Wyatt and the other big names that have returned during Vince's brief "retirement". Anyone affected by this news.
I hope that they would be able to, if they are all relieved of their duties, create their own promotion. A promotion that loves the business for what it is and even though money is good, the art form of pro wrestling will always be the central point.
I might reluctantly continue to watch WWE as long as Triple H is in charge of creative. But if it turns back to the cluster fuck it was during late stage McMahon, I'll just say: "Thank Christ for the AEW, Mexico, Japan AND the thriving Indy scene".
In the end, the Federation (or the "E" as they call it) will die when Vince McMahon does. Professional wrestling lives on. If worse comes to worse, there are alternatives out there. Subscribe to #iwtv to see the purest and most passionate form of professional wrestling
Okay I'm off my soapbox now.

"Many will argue that this women’s division is the best-booked group in North American professional wrestling.
This company doesn’t have to deal with criticism from fans to book more women’s segments and matches, as they are frequently the focal point of the promotion’s content."

okay, i have an idea and i want to know if anyone would be interested in me doing this. essentially, i want to do a weekly women's wrestling news roundup. if you're anything like me, you know it can get overwhelming to keep up with what's going on in the pro wrestling world. this would be primarily WWE related news, but also potentially covering major events in AEW and other promotions.
this news round up would be posted on Mondays and it would be a bulleted list covering notable news in women's professional wrestling from the past week, including major matches and title changes, debuts, injuries, returns, etc. this wouldn't be spoiler free, by any means, but spoilers will be under a cut so you can avoid them if you want.
