For the last two months you had a very tense relationship with John Marino. You thought he was a little cocky and too proud, and he thought you were abrasive and stuck up. The two of you were always arguing with the other, constantly nitpicking and criticizing each other with no apology or remorse. It got to a point where you couldn’t even go five minutes without the two of you making some off handed comment to the other.
Tonight though, tonight was different, and you weren’t exactly sure why. From the second you walked into the bar, John’s eyes never left you despite the girl tucked underneath his arm. You tried ignoring the feeling of warmth that was spreading from your stomach, choosing to throw your focus on whatever guy managed to capture your attention for the night, but it was hard. All you could think about was John.
It wasn’t until he was watching some random guys hands wander too far south for both yours and his comfort that he made a move. He was quickly out of his seat, ignoring the calls from his friends behind him as he beelined straight for you. You saw him coming towards you out of the corner of your eye, a sort of twisted, unfamiliar excitement bubbling in your chest when he grabbed your hand and yanked you down the hallway until he was pushing his way into an empty closet.
Your teeth were clashing against his own almost instantly as he pushes you against the wall, your hands finding their way up to his hair. You were tugging on the curls, eliciting a few strangled groans as he dropped his hands to your thighs, toying with the hem of your dress. It was almost as if he was hesitant, not wanting to go further in case this was as far as you wanted to go, but it wasn’t. As much as you thought you despised John, you wanted him. You needed him.
“This is a one time thing,” John mumbles against your lips, his fingers bunching the material of your dress at your hips.
“You won’t be saying that when we’re done,” You breathed out, a subtle cockiness to your tone that he usually hated. Or at least that was what he was telling himself.
“Probably not.”
