Listen I don’t typically get itchy and shitty over fictional discussions because they’re. Fictional. But nothing gets on my nerves like “Rose Quartz is the most evil piece of shit in that entire show.” Because it’s really not hard to detect that her redemption arc is in reverse. It’s really not. It takes about 2 seconds of critical thinking.

#I’m not excusing her actions but the Rose Quartz we met in the very beginning is obviously the best version of her #is she a phenomenal person? no #but she’s pretty ok if you look at her arc from pink Diamond to rose quartz #and fact of the matter is you’d go insane if you were pink Diamond too #i get where she’s coming from #my moms were asses to me and I fuckin ran away #transed my gender and discovered new things about myself and realized I had some behaviors to fix #when you’re raised in an abusive or neglectful environment you retain bad behaviors from it #pink isn’t so different from a lot of us raised in shitty homes #i think my biggest gripe with her is demanding Pearl not say a word about anything #and that put her son in a really shitass spot #generally she set Steven up to struggle unintentionally #that’s my gripe with her #otherwise? she’s just a neglected kid running away from home and learning things
