Volkswagen Karmann Ghia TC Prototype, 1965. After the T34 Karmann Ghia was signed off Karmann's designers continued to work on possible variants for VW's consideration. Ghia had no involvement in the fastback version which offered improved rear headroom turning the car into aa full 4-seater as well as providing the versatility of a hatchback. The prototype was completed in September 1964 but In January 1965 the TC project was put on-hold, due to poor T34 Coupé sales.

Volkswagen Karmann Ghia
Unlike traditional Volkswagen models, the Karmann Ghia features a distinctive body built by the renowned German coachbuilder Karmann, adding an element of exclusivity to its appearance.

Volkswagen Karmann Ghia
The Volkswagen Karmann Ghia combined the chassis and mechanicals of the Type 1 Beetle, with styling by Italy's Carrozzeria Ghia and hand-built bodywork by German coachbuilding house Karmann. More than 445,000 Karmann Ghias were produced in Germany over the car's production life, not including the Type 34 variant. Volkswagen Brasil produced a further 41,600 Type 34s for the South American market between 1962 and 1975.

Volkswagen Karmann Ghia Coupé Studie, 1962. Designed by  Luigi Segre, responsible for styling the original Type 14 Karmann Ghia, who had been commissioned by Wilhelm Karmann Jnr to update his design. However the 7-year-old Type 14 continued to sell well and VW also had the new Type 34 Karmann Ghia up-market from the Type 14 so felt the update was unnecessary.

OSI 20M TS
The  car developed by Ghia for Ford would be called the OSI 20M TS, or alternatively the OSI-Ford 20M TS or the Ford OSI 20M TS.It was a handsome coupe thanks to the design work of Sergio Sartorelli – also the stylist of the Volkswagen Karmann Ghia, the Fiat 2300 S Coupe, the Fiat 126, and a range of other cars. The car was produced in two key versions, both with essentially identical bodies. The key difference was the 2.0 Ford V6 fitted to earlier cars and the 2.3 liter V6 fitted to later cars. From an engineering perspective the cars were relatively standard for the era, with a steel unibody inner shell, MacPherson strut front suspension, a live rear axle on leaf springs, front disc brakes, and rear drums. The elegant design of the 20M TS is still winning it fans today, few people who see them can identify them due to their rarity, and there’s a committed enthusiast base in Europe who find and restore them. The OSI 20M TS was only produced in 1967 and 1968, some say 2,000 were made, others say 2,200, and some even say 3,500. The one thing that all agree on is that there are 200 or fewer remaining today.
